To be fair, this was a job to Bill. One that he loved, but a job none the less. Particularly the review site. It’s clear that the man had both a passion for the work, and time to do it. I don’t have the luxury of time to keep the review site going, though I share his passion.

I am equally passionate about these boards, and my commitment is to their continued existence. In my opinion, that isn’t a full time job.

my personal opinion is that daddy collected a substantial amount of donations, well earned and deserved, but they were justified as compensation for the enormous amount of time he put into the review site. I don’t begrudge him for that, and think particularly among men who are pros at valuing ones’ time, we all understand that.

it’s going to take a special person to continue the review site. Continuing the message boards is quite simple should we choose not to complicate it.

If there is no owner who is willing and able to cover the cost of running the the M-B, then some mechanism would have to be established to maintain a guaranteed steady income for the site.

Advertising is the way to go in most cases.

I suspect that a membership cost could cause the number of active members to drop.

I have an idea about how to handle the review site later once we have control of DNS. Ideally it would be as easy to administer/moderate as the forums are.

If done right, reviews simply are hidden until accepted by a moderator. It would automatically update all of the various links on the site and be searchable, etc.

The biggest undertaking will be moving the old reviews into the new system. If I can’t figure out a way to automate it, I’ll solicit assistance in some copy/paste help from the forum.

Can anyone here speak to the type and amount of editorial work that Bill performed on the reviews site? That would indicate what and how much could be automated.

I remember that submitting a review required filling out a form.

Then there was a little interaction, if needed, between him and the reviewer.

I'm almost certain that most of the process was "manual" and required more information than necessary.

On RM reviews are automatically accepted as long as there's previous communication between the provider and the reviewer in their system.

When providers get reviews they don't like, they can request removal if they can prove the meeting never took place (i.e. a malicious review).

In most cases, RM will remove any review, sometimes even without proof because their business model gravitates around the escorts.

However, with that being said I've seen them keeping negative reviews of escorts who stole money or committed other criminal activities.

If there is a new review site it could bring added value by not exclusively favouring the escorts but also the clients in cases of bad service.

I just reread all the wonderful ideas and suggestions posted by concerned members. It’s a great idea to plan ahead. The sudden passing of @Guy Fawkes hit many of us hard. To me he was a mentor and strong supporter who trusted me enough with all the tools of his site. Jokingly, he used to say to me: “Cooper, when accessing the Administrator Tools, never touch the red button”. I will always miss our daily chats.

It’s now been over a month since his passing and so much has taken place to preserve his legacy. Guy had some really good friends in Team Washington. They came to our rescue. Later today I’ll be talking with @RadioRob to discuss M4M’s future.

There’s been a lot of good information shared in this thread. We all know that in order to move ahead we need a death certificate and a court ruling. If all goes smoothly, a new owner is needed. Hopefully, that person is tech savvy or can hire someone who is. The new owner will decide how to run the site and what needs he has. If necessary, I’ll offer my assistance but would completely understand if a new team is wanted.

Guy was a one man operation. He knew everything about running the sites and took good care at protecting his operations. Very similar as did TotallyOz of Boy Toy and Ace Banner of Muscle Service.

As for raising money to pay the bills, we’ve seen how it can be done. My compliments go out to @JEC for organizing a very successful GoFundMe drive. Thanks to all the members who contributed. You’ve proven how important it is to keep the site going. Also, a special thanks to @Coolwave35 for so generously offering to take care of future site expenses.

So, what have I been up to during this transition. I’ve been working with one of our new moderators, @Daverwr. His “powers” now include every forum. Welcome aboard... With Dave on the W Coast and I on the E Coast we basically have the site covered 24/7. If you ever need to contact us just click on report and one of us will get back to you.

A new Forum has just been created. Many of you had asked for a separate forum to discuss sports topics. I agreed and now we have “The Sports Desk.” So, stop by and tells us about your favorite teams or players and what you’re looking forward to in the Olympics.

I have lots more to share but I don’t want to compete with one of our favorite contributors @stevenkesslar for the longest message.

If you have any questions feel free to start a conversation with me. And, please continue sharing your thoughts and ideas on your visions for our future.

Did I just become a Regent?!! Was that something that is automated after a certain number of posts?

Traditionally, the "Regent" rules in the absence of the King. Do all the "Regents" on the site now become a junta?

A council, not a junta! We use that word now to refer to right wing dictatorships friendly to the USA but its origin is the oldest form of parliamentary democracy in Europe.

I just wanted to be able to quote this for posterity. You’ve shown growth with your brevity lol

Thanks. I appreciate that.

And I look forward to reading your plan for the future of this website. Including the piece I'm personally interested in the most, which is probably one of the most significant issues for the long term. What role we play, if any, in whether sites like Rentmen get obliterated like Rentboy did, or if the fun hobby people come here enjoy is decriminalized. I get the sense your plan will be a quick read. ;)
