I partly agree with you but I’ve met several providers who have used professional photography services for their ad pics. They were not fakers. They just wanted to make themselves more marketable.

 

On the flip side, very professional photos do raise red flags. In my experience, the ones with pro photos are the snotty ones. They’re the ones who won’t do this and won’t do that.

I'm new to hiring and I was wondering if this might be a sign that he is too? Should I save that question for until we're about to cllose the deal?

 

I'm thinking of trying again and was bumping to see if anyone else had met him or had any other relevant experience to share. Some tips would be great too.

He has been on RM since June and has eight reviews (real or fake, I don't know), so he should know how to navigate the rate question by now. You can use terms like "donation" and "fee for your time only" with him in an attempt to make him comfortable with the $ question. Don't wait until the meeting to find out! Might want to say, after you find out the fee, that you don't want to talk money AT the meeting at all and confirm that you'll pay at the end of the meet.

Now he does not mention deposit, but the rate is a little higher than the normal one.
