Sorry guys, I was not sure the best place to post this question so the moderators can move it if it doesn't fit here. Ok, so I'm usually extremely against hiring an unreviewed guy, but I stumbled on a guy that struck my fancy. We've been emailing back and forth and I'm tempted to meet but I'm still quite nervous. Any suggestions on how to approach meeting a guy who has no reviews nor any comments about him on this forum? I guess I'm just nervous about either being scammed or that he's fake...or something worse. Any advice would be great.

I would suggest meeting in person in public first. If he is staying at a hotel then the hotel bar is perfect. Or if you're planning on hosting, a nearby bar or coffeeshop works great. Communication is key. Say that you're a nervous first timer and appreciate his patience with meeting in person first.

If he is being too hesitant or a jerk about it, that is a big red flag. Of course do remember that you are giving him a donation for his time only, so do expect that the public visit is part of the time that you're spending with him and expect to compensate him for it. In many cases, you can quite quickly suss out his character in person and most likely will be quickly ready to take it to the next level. If you do feel weird about how he's acting or if he maybe looks quite a bit different than his pictures, you can maybe cut it short and just give him the compensation for his time and leave.

Definitely do not pay any fees up front or give him any information that would be too personally identifiable. Often I will leave my wallet and ID in the car and just have the cash for the session on me and my password locked phone. If hosting, I put away my wallet, bills and computer. Once you build trust, it's fine.

Do remember there is a fine line between caution and paranoia. Most likely he is just getting into this business and may be as nervous as you are. Relax and have a good time. 99 percent of the time you'll be comfortable with each other once you meet in person.

I've met several unreviewed and un-commented-upon guys and have always had a great time. Conversely, my experiences with Forum favorites have been average, at best, save for a few guys.

These forums at best filter the really bad apples out there who usually don't end up having much longevity. I've tried quite a few non reviewed guys and the majority have been great experiences. It's rare that there's a bad apple and usually there are signs on the first visit. My biggest flag is guys that want money upfront. I've decided that that's pretty well an end to the appointment.

Agree with all said, reviews are heavily edited and filtered by the site admins so are not entirely reliable. If you have good intuition you should be able to get a vibe from ppl, admittedly this is not 100% reliable. Best is if you can get a direct reference via PM from one of the members here. But, you are severely limiting the "pool" if you rely solely on reviews. Good luck

I strongly agree with @europeanman and @Jeff Meuller

Don’t be nervous @kaboom35 - approach the meeting as you would a promising first date and you’re likely to have a great time.

Over many years, almost all my hirings were of non-reviewed guys. I reviewed some men but latterly many guys did not want a review or publicity. In that time, I had 1 bad experience and was let down 2x so the vast majority of my dates were excellent and thoroughly enjoyable.

(FWIW the bad experience occurred early on when a guy demanded the cash upfront (and promptly forgot everything we’d agreed prior) and the ‘let downs’ were with 2 well-reviewed guys who were raved over in this forum).

Money up front is a warning sign and a non starter for me. When meeting I will usually leave the money in a visible place so there are no questions but the money should not be touched until after.

Maybe he is just new...

A link to his pics would be useful

My best way of getting info has been just contacting Forum members who mention they have seen someone I am interested in and see if they might be willing to speak with me about him. Then either I have them just tell me what their experience of the escort was like or if I have specific questions then I ask them, e.g. will the escort be versatile. I will get as much info as I can get even though I know that in the end I will have to ask the escort himself about what he will provide. I also will ask about the experience he had and if they would hire the guy again. Some Forum members will give more info than others and while you can tactfully attempt to get as much info as you can you should never pry or push.

I have done the same, in the case of masseurs, and a number forum members have contacted me about masseurs I’ve mentioned. I’ve only hired one escort since I’ve been on this forum. My search for him here didn’t turn up anything, nor did posting a new thread receive a response. Finally got up the nerve to contact the guy, who was prompt and charming and put me at ease. He asked to speak with me over the phone, which I found reassuring, so we met and had a good time.

Back when I was using Craigslist and Backpage, I wish I’d been able to glean some info on a few wacko masseurs that I ended up meeting. :-(

I completely agree with this posting....it definitely pays to use some caution

Use caution but check here if anyone has had any experience first. I won’t post negative reviews to RM as it’ll be deleted but I’m happy to share here.

Not all negative reviews are deleted on rentmen.

I wrote a negative review of a scammer using photos that were not of him. I also wrote some uncomplimentary truthful comments about the guy. The reviews are still there after several months.

I noticed that the fake escort has now let his ad expire. The ad will disappear soon.

That is a way a fake escort can get rid of bad reviews by letting an ad expire.

He can then open a new ad with other stolen photos and a new name.

The second guy I ever hired was new to the business and had no reviews. I was inexperienced at the time, so what did I know? We met at my hotel as I was traveling on business. He was new to escorting and I think he was just as nervous as me, maybe a bit more, but he had been easy and quick to communicate with over text and was very specific about his rate and his boundaries (e.g. no drugs, no bareback). Somehow everything felt right, and I just followed my get feeling. We ended up having a great time together, and after that I did see that he got some positive reviews. If there are no red flags, I say go for it.

Thanks. Yea I’ve asked about this guy before and no one responded with feedback. We’ve had a great back and forth convo on email so I may take the plunge. Crossing fingers

Something must be wrong with my computer or my eyes - I cannot see a link for the escort in question.

Without a link or a name, it is next to impossible to offer any past experience.

"Yea I’ve asked about this guy before and no one responded with feedback."

No link is probably why you do not get any responses about the escort.

I do see a couple of earlier requests for a link to the escort but I do not see any link.

Where is my eye doctor or my computer repairman?
