I decided to join rent.men for the month just to check it out and posted a pic and short video there (no face). Since then, I've gotten contacted by a few 'scorts who I didn't even visit on the site and a couple were quite obnoxious. One said "When are you coming over so I can fuck you?" I guess some guys fall for this kind of stuff, but it's a huge turn-off for me. Is this normal? Initially, I was replying to contacts I was getting, but I stopped from guys like that.

I'm not super worried about it, just curios and wondering what you more experienced guys think. I'm looking for my first (and maybe only) escort experience, so hopefully the site will help me line that up.

It's just the way some gents use RMen. I guess there is a function where they can see that certain registered users happen to be on the site.

I'd say you're right to just ignore the unsolicited messages that don't interest you. (I get contacted at least once every week or so by a particular duo, who have sent me the exact same "Sup Bud" message at least a dozen times.)

LOL, Ok. I was trying to be polite/thoughtful by responding to contact, esp from guys I looked at until I started getting unsolicited contact. Thanks for the reply.

I just get repeated webmaster messages about "RealMen near you", though they are often thousands of miles away in spite of my enabling GPS. Therefore, I assume that they are the real, non-fake ads that are rare enough so as to be far and wide.

I was a little taken aback the first time it happened to me. The guy explained that the site allowed him to see that I had looked at his ad. That is when I realized I needed to change my account settings. I do still get occasional emails, but it's rare.

@Jim_n_NYC, in the few days after I joined I received a few unsolicited messages from escorts but didn't reply. But that was all, I haven't received many since then. I was in a small city, not one of the larger markets so that may explain why they stopped quickly. As @Ichabod noted if they see you've looked at their profile they have no way of knowing if you intended to leave a track or not, so they have a business reason to check. (You can change your settings on your dashboard so they can't see that you have viewed their profile.) If I received a message I would treat it as a 'Hello' but it doesn't make me more likely to be interested, but still I'd check them out. I would tend not to reply but if their message was particularly engaging I might do so even if only to say. 'Thank you but no'.

Yea, I realize that I can change it so they don't see me, but I'd like the ones I DO like that I view to see that I looked, lol.

I agree with everything you said, but what threw me off was 2 guys contacted me who I never even looked at their profiles. I replied to the first and said something like "I just signed up and am just looking around, thanks." but the second I never left anything. I eventually deleted their messages, too.

I'm not shaken up by this, I just find it mildly annoying, I guess and was wondering how you guys handle it.

I see nothing wrong with it...In fact I think its smart marketing. We know a lot of guys LOOK, but are afraid or too shy to contact the escort for fear of rejection... If the escort sees you looked at HIM, he is breaking the ice and perhaps gaining a client...

Its rather savvy, and you always have the option of saying NO.... I think its a Win-Win....

This is getting annoying. There's one guy on rentmen that keeps sending me messages (I never looked at his ad) and won't stop. Granted, I'm not worried about him finding me IRL, but I answered his first message politely (just said something to the effect of joining the site to look around) but every couple of days he sends me a couple of messages. Do guys really think this kind of stuff works? I would think most potential clients would be put off by this sort of thing. Any way I can block him completely from sending me messages?

Yes, at the top of the message chain there should be a header telling you who it is and how many messages there are. Under that is the option to (BLOCK THIS USER).

Block him! Note...you will still see his ad even if you block him, but should you click on it you would be informed you need to “unblock” to see the ad. But the provider will be blocked from contacting you ??

It's only happened to me when I've looked at semi-private pictures, or asked to see private. I agree, it's a turn off.

Well, I just had another message from him this morning. The guy doesn't take a hint. As of yet I haven't, ever, clicked on his ad. I guess this must have worked for him with some guys, but it sure is a turn off for me.

Why are you waiting to click on his ad and block him ??‍♂️
