So I see. My mistake. All I can tell you is that, previously, I could (and did) copy an image and paste it in to a post. It's the only way I ever posted a picture. Can't do that now. I thought that part of the TOS was new and explained the change, but apparently not.

That is exactly what I tried to do when I was a newbie here, and never worked to me. I am curious. What browser do you use?

Click on M4M NextGen at the bottom of the page, next to Terms and rules. Then chose default style. This should take you back to the old format.

None of the options is enough like the old format that it's worth changing to. I guess I'm going to have to adjust, slowly.

But then, I'm getting all this for free! So I'm not going to make a stink about it.

@latbear4blk, I have Microsoft Edge on a desktop and Google Chrome on a laptop. I have previously used the "copy and paste" approach to including an image in a post from either computer.

When you right click on an picture in Edge and select "Copy", the picture metadata, including the URL, is copied to the clipboard. The picture itself is copied if you select "Copy Picture".

Perhaps the older version of the forum software was able to process the URL clipping.

This is my first look at the new forum. Haven't tried any of the new bells and whistles yet, but they don't look like they would be hard to learn.

What I instantly disliked was the blue format and the wallpaper behind the actual posts, both of which impeded my reading. I doubt that I will get used to them over time. The default style (thanks @TXDav) is much better for me. Am I misremembering that in the old forum the posts extended much more across the width of the page than they do now?

Replying to my own post :): Like the thingamabobby which tells you instantly whether the poster is currently online, and the drop-down which tells you some basic stats about the poster.

I have been permanently banned from the Argentinean forums, right before they upgraded. I really like a lot the new pattern of colors, blacks and greys in high contrast combinations. @Guy Fawkes , you may want to take a look ai it. I find it absolutely gorgeous.

Guest MikeThomas

I like the new forum, although I do find the search function more complicated. And what’s with the option to search “child forums”. A bit creepy.
