It’s my understanding that effective December 17, 2018 the Tumblr app will delete all sexual adult content. I’d be interested in Forum members input. Will another site come along and fill the void? Will all the links in the Gallery forum here be null and void? I’ll miss viewing the adult Tumblr content.

Most of the 67 Adult Tumblrs I follow seem to have no plan. It's very frustrating. There were two WaPo op eds and one NYTIMES Oped speaking to how bad of a decision this was.

I agree with NYT and WaPo. Something else will come along.

It appears Tumblr was reacting to the iTunes Store dropping their app from the App Store. IMO, they could have blocked adult content on the app and allowed it on the website. Also,IMO, the app stinks. It kept displaying tumblrs in my feed that I didn’t subscribe to.

I will miss adult Tumblr, and I agree with @rvwnsd, just like Reddit, Tumblr could have omitted adult content from it's app and kept going. I've seen a number of posters moveing to bdsmlr.com, which has been struggling under the strain of many new users. https://sharesome.com is also getting some attention. I made an account there, but haven't found how to subscribe to posts like I did at Tumblr. Some are heading to wordpress as well.

I deleted my Tumblr account the day it was announced. It’s 100 percent of no use to me now. I did not want them to keep the account around for years to eventually end up in another data breach.

I did the same.

It’s only a matter of time before Twitter bans adult content or severely restricts posting. I only follow a few escorts on Twitter and likely won’t follow any former Tumblr blogs. I don’t want my Twitter timeline flooded with adult content since it’s a primary news source for me.

You could do what I did - create an adult-content Twitter account.

Alot of folks seem to be taking the same action. I noticed the number of followers has gone down significantly since the announcement. Oh well, it's a good thing I stopped blogging months ago; it would all be lost anyway. I deleted some pictures to clean it up, maybe the tips for clients page will survive. Newbies seemed to like that info. But if they kill it, so be it. I'm not going to re-create that content again.

True. However, I firmly believe that Twitter will severely restrict or outright ban adult content at some point. The migration of former Tumblr blogs to Twitter may accelerate an inevitably.

I’m looking at BDSMlr and Cumlr as alternative options right now.

I have no confidence this will happen. Nothing remotely as useful filled the gap when equally stupid rationals killed our categories in Craigslist and Backpage.

It already is happening. See below for but one example.

Now also JustFor.Fans is also trying to prey on Tumblr bloggers. I hope this link works if you do not have an account:

If it does not work for you, it is a video on how to transfer your Tumblr blog to them.

Interesting and not at all surprising.

The content that led to the Apple Store dropping them was child porn that didn't belong there in the first place, not adult porn. I suspect FOSTA/SESTA was a secondary consideration.

I haven't used Tumblr in years because their Kindle Fire app was outdated and worked poorly if at all. I kept getting messages bugging me to update it but what was available from Amazon wasn't any newer. I don't know if that was a Tumblr problem or an Amazon problem and I didn't care to try to find out.

I exclusively used Tumblr for my porn needs. It was a great platform for finding specific fetishes and such! It’s too bad it’ll be removed in a few days.
