When Mayberry native Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) joined the Marines and met Sergeant Carter (Frank Sutton), tv got one of the best comedy duos ever on "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C." The show was originally broadcast on CBS from 1964-69.

Who are your favorite tv comedy duos?

Andy Samberg and Joe Lo Truglio from Brooklyn Nine-Nine as far as the modern era goes. From way back in the day, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman from the Carol Burnett Show. Someone with cut and paste skills can post the "Tommy Gobbler" incident (1st one) from the former, and the dentist visit from the latter. Never gets old.

They (Harvey Korman & Tim Conway) toured together sometime in the late 90's or early 2000's. I got my parents tickets to it and managed to get tickets in the first few rows. She said later I should have gotten a ticket for myself, but I probably would not have been able to get three tickets so close.

Lucy Ricardo and Ethel Mertz.

They were truly marvelous together, weren't they? On any given day they'd be either my 1st or 2nd choice & are the one that barely lost out to Eddie & Pats of Absolutely Fabulous when I posted my choice here the other day.

It really IS Lucy & Ethel for laughs at the heart of I Love Lucy, isn't it?.
