Senior citizens brawl at Costco over free samples

Things got a little dicey at a South Carolina Costco after a couple of septuagenarians got into a physical altercation over some free samples.

According to police, a 70-year-old man claimed the incident began while he was standing in line for a free piece of cheese at a Costco in Greenville. As he was waiting, another older man, 72, “cut in line, took some cheese and walked off,” according to an incident report obtained by The State newspaper.

But it didn’t end there.

Later, as the 70-year-old was waiting for a free cheeseburger sample, he saw the alleged line-jumper approaching and addressed him, sarcastically telling the man “he could get in front of him because he knew he would just cut the line anyway.”

The 72-year-old then allegedly called him a “jerk” and clocked him on the side of his head, knocking off his hat and glasses, according to The State.

No arrests in the July 26 incident have been made yet, as the senior citizens have had different versions of the incident, WHNS-TV reported.

The 72-year-old had left the warehouse-style store by the time police arrived, but admitted to being involved in an altercation at Costco when contacted by police later.

However, he told police he hit the younger septuagenarian because he felt threatened by him, according to WHNS.

Police are hoping to review surveillance footage from Costco to clarify what exactly happened.

In Texas they would have just shot each other - the survivor would have just gone and bought a case of bullets

That couldc have happened to people of any age, not just the elderly.

A beauty shop robbery in Silver Spring, Maryland, erupted in an epic brawl with flying fists and wig whipping. Police are asking for tips to apprehend the suspects who snatched wigs and assaulted employees.

A 79-year-old Ohio man called police to complain about the quality of "sexual services" rendered by a pair of prostitutes he paid $500 to visit hishome, cops report.

The septuagenarian, who lives in South Euclid, a Cleveland suburb, dialed 911 on January 3 to report a robbery.

The john, identified in a police report as William Batts, said that while the hookers “did perform some sexual services,” the duo “failed to meet [his] expectations.” Thankfully, police did not further describe the elderly man’s carnal desires.

During a conversation with a police dispatcher, Batts said that he was “in the process of getting robbed” by “two ladies” who took $500 from his wallet.

By the time cops arrived at the complainant’s home, the prostitutes had departed.

Batts told officers that he had met the women through a friend in Cleveland. Hedescribed the hookers as “African American females, approximately 40 years old, and dressed all in black,” cops noted. One woman, Batts said, was about 5’ 7”, while the second hooker, named Keisha, “is the short fat one.”

Though the pensioner contended he had been victimized, officers explained that his unsatisfactory encounter with the women did not constitute an actual robbery attempt.

While Batts appears to have admitted to solicitation of prostitution, a misdemeanor, he will not be charged in connection with his disappointing dalliance, according to a police official.

The article is very condescending, suggesting, not so subtly, that after a certain age, people are to be dismissed, and chuckled over and made the subject of humorous news articles. Senior citizens Nancy Pelosi, Bob Mueller and Mitch McConnell are not people who are easily dismissed or laughed at. I don't imagine Trump finds very much at all in Mueller to laugh at or dismiss.

Elderly women brawl as nursing home bingo game takes violent turn

Two elderly Canadian women, who have not been identified, got into a row during a bingo game at their Rideau Lakes, Ontario, nursing home Tuesday.

The alleged altercation occurred after a 79-year-old woman took an 86-year-old’s woman usual game seat, Constable Sandra Barr, spokesperson for the Leeds County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, told CBC.

A physical altercation between the two women later involved other residents, escalating into a larger brawl, according to authorities.

The seniors settled down after cops arrived and no charges were filed, police said. No one was injured in the melee.

The thought of nursing homes scares me. I'm an "age in place" guy. My half sister and a good friend are in them but they're very mentally gone and cant be alone ever. Im trying to retri fit my house to age in but I may have to someday give up the upstairs or get a lift. Thank goodness for things like Alexa, Uber, and security cams.

But no one can really prepare enough.

I’m 63. Great age, as I can go anywhere and no one pays me any attention. At best, it’s on the order of “What a nice older man!” or similar crap.

These people have no idea of the amount of mischief of which I’m capable.

I’m thinking about becoming a ninja for hire. No one would suspect..... :-)

A lot of what is called "aging gracefully" is apologizing for being old.

The last place you’d expect to find rowdy hecklers would be at an Engelbert Humperdinck gig.

But Friday night, an elderly man caused a scene at The Humper’s gig at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, and riled up the audience so much he got the ol’ Hump Bump, getting thrown out of the theater.

English sideburned lothario Humperdinck had crooned just a couple of songs from his set, when — according to a witness — “an elderly man in the front row interrupted him, complaining [that] a teleprompter at the foot of the stage blocked his view.”

Humperdinck engaged the heckler in some friendly banter, but then “noticing his age and silver hair, dubbed him ‘Bernie Sanders.’ Pretty soon, the audience took up the cry, shouting, ‘Bernie . . . Bernie!”

The patron was not amused, and continued to heckle Humperdinck, who, at 82, is no spring chicken himself.

Security guards started circling the enraged Bernie clone, who refused to be still.

“Now the audience started to get mad. They started yelling, ‘Throw him out!’ And that’s what they did.”

We’re told the guards escorted the wizened whiner out of the auditorium and Humperdunked him right out on the sidewalk.

The episode held up The Humper for 10 minutes before he resumed crooning songs, including “Release Me,” to the sold-out crowd.

We’re told the blowup didn’t lose Humperdink any fans.

“The show was sold out, and the audience gave the star rousing, standing ovations at the end [of the performance].”
