I have always met with companions at my own hotel even when meeting locally. I guess I feel more comfortable meeting at my own place.

Am I worrying for no reason about meeting at the companions hotel? It would be more cost effective if I didn't have to incur the costs of my own room and would allow me to spend more time with the companion.

Thoughts?

It depends on how important the room is to you. If it's important to you, better to have your choice of properties and rooms. If it isnt, then you might be comfortable risking that the room won't be great.

Do you know the companion or does he have a good reputation here?

Yes, he has a very good reputation.

Then no problem going to his room.

Might be some logistics concern if you need to run a security gauntlet to get to it, though.

My hotel.

I had to think about it. When I've been traveling, in my hotel, they always came to me. I cannot remember ever having a hotel room yet meeting at his.

I've gone to their hotel when they're visiting SF, alot. Because I almost always avoided having to my home - plus they often wouldn't travel to my suburban community.

So, its not a conscious preference, but must be a preference nonetheless, as its always my room.

I've always gone to their place because I can't host when I'm at home (and also don't live in an easily accessible area with public transport).

When I'm travelling I often rent a room in a shared home to keep costs down so I can't host either. Although lately I've been looking at getting my own hotelroom when travelling. There's some good deals to be found.

I like nice hotels....so in general I prefer mine.

Although if I’m just passing through town and

in the rare mood for an overnight with an known

entity, staying at his hotel for a night somtimes

works out well. Financially it can be very beneficial

too.

I always worry about depending on the escort for

a room for the night though. If he flakes, looking

for a last minute hotel room is never fun.

Scene from the sitcom Mom:

Mother enters house after night out.

Daughter: "Walk of shame?"

Mother: "Stride of pride."

EXACTLY! It was quite late in life that I learned of this English expression and it always puzzled me. Because every time I came home from banging a hot guy I'd actually be all puffed up, glowing and happy!

Nothing shameful about having sex.

The escort's hotel room is likely to be littered with evidence of his immediately prior clients - if he's seen 4 guys in that room before you that day, there will be towels all over the bathroom floor etc. If that bothers you stick with your own.

Who cares?

I care about my privacy.

Looks like we have some literal Larrys here. For those who learned English as a second language, walk of shame is an expression - like motherfucker.

My hotel. I am more relaxed that way and don't have to take the walk of shame on my way out past the all-knowing front desk staff.

That is the walk of pride for me. “Yes I am getting some. With a super hot guy. Are you?”

Sure, that's undestandable. But they're not taking names or anything. And they don't know what transpired in that room.

And does @harey assume that when he’s the guest at the hotel the staff doesn’t know he’s had visitors? ;)

Hmm. OK, you got me, a little. ;) But I think that's apples and oranges, Mike. I don't assume the hotel staff are huddled around a security monitor peering at the outside of my room, just in case a random fitness model makes a two-hour visit. And if I'm at my hotel for two days and have one visitor, that should not draw much notice.

Conversely, an escort at a hotel doing in-calls will likely host several clients during his stay. A repeated pattern of short visits would be more noticeable. I like to take reasonable precautions, and avoiding possible scrutiny in an unfamiliar place is one of them. I also put my wallet and keys in my room safe, even though I don't expect to be robbed.

I don't recommend hotel safes. There's supposed to be a universal code for those which anyone working in the hotel knows or could easily find out. I always lock my valuables in my suitcase when going out.
