Car 100% Italian, him 50% Italian... Bellissimo...!

That caption is clever, but it made me think. Most "American" cars are far from 100% Made in USA in terms of their contents. Do Italian cars consist entirely of Italian-produced contents? I suspect a DNA test of both the young man and that Ferrari might not show quite such perfect percentages.

Thank you for your kind comment... I did think about that, but i thought "heck", it would be too much trouble to approximate the actual percentages, so I took the easy route. I increased the percentage of acceptable error in this case. The only percentage that I got close enough was probably his. In his profile he declared himself 1/2 Italian and 1/2 German. That alone got my motor running on high gear. Best to ya!

Regardless of DNA and country of origin of components, there is an element in the makeup of both men and cars that can make them 100% XXX. There are [decreasing numbers of] cars that are 100% French, Italian or German (or English/British) regardless of where they are assembled or from where the components come. Same with some American ones (muscle cars some to mind). Not so much those from some other countries. Global supply chains of course mean that the reality no longer matches the perception.

Actually, I think it's a good example of the "Gioconda" smile explored in another thread:

Dear @honcho, thank you for redirecting me... There's so much to appreciate in the Gallery. I'm just thankful for everyone's contributions and to the subjects that pose for the pictures that we can then admire... :)
