And having an advanced booking cancelled is a lot more damaging than a last minute booking because you generally have more expectation of it happening. Plus you may have turned down other things.
Lately, in the past few years or so…I’ve been booking sessions of “advanced” notice generally a day or 2 ahead…with the exception of a special City visit. But even then, that’s the most it’s usually been and that’s usually fine with me.
I like a sweet spot with a bit of common sense: it doesn’t have to be “now”. But just be normal. 2 weeks ahead of time can be bit far out when a guy is “available now” and needs to make ends. I also prefer 4 hours notice for same day bookings because that’s usually about how long it’ll take to stop what I’m doing, commute, etc. unless I’m just already in town at a hotel and can take someone on the fly
I see this in other situations as well: last weekend there were supposed to be 6 of us calendar guys attending the Kansas City model signing event for https://www.lupineenterprises.com
However, only 3 of us showed up. This event was planned way back in November. So to hear 3 guys not show up (for valid reasons) kinda killed the vibe for a moment. But, the 3 who were in Kansas City made the best of it and it turned out really well.

I’ve never done last minute booking~ Through my entire career, I’ve always booked in advance… anywhere from several weeks on up to over a year~ Typically, the time frame is two months ahead~ For me it’s never too early to schedule~ 
 I love taking the time before meeting to text back and forth, swap dirty/pervy desires, romantic sentiment, naughty bits pix… get to know each other so that when we eventually meet, maybe there some extra exciting play things we’ve thought of that we’d like to explore together~ It’s good bonding time~

The likelihood of a new client actually panning out is inversely proportional to the amount of contact (and the amount of time) beforehand.  Especially in a highly visited place like NYC, we get a ton of guys wanting to set something up weeks away (unfortunately often accompanied by a daily text with a new question or request) just to find out, wouldn't you know it, the day of... the trip gets cancelled.  The less time out, the more serious I take the booking. 
If your constraints require you to lock things down weeks in advance, a deposit via Venmo goes a long way to reassuring me that this is actually going to go down.  And of course, once we've actually met, I'll take future bookings a lot more seriously.

Definitely book in advance. It’s what I prefer my clients to do. Yesterday at 10pm I got a request for an out call that evening. It would have been fine if he’d booked it the day before but by the time he asked…I was busy.

What are the pros & cons for you? Asking because I have.a birthday in few weeks and I thought it would make my Bday more stress free if i was able to book someone in advance rather spend my entire birthday back & forth with fees and availability.  Etc.  I'm live in NYC and it'd probably be someone local.  (not sure who yet.)\

I know who it is. He’s not worth calling out. Karma always works. It’s better to be positive and keep that negative energy away for me.
