My mom died in May of 2020 at the age of 96. Her decline from good health was rapid but I was not allowed to visit her (Covid restrictions) until her very final days.... so my mental image jumps from a person of good health to a dying woman with nothing in between.
I also realized that she could have been 196 and it would still feel painful.

He is a very nice guy but before you commit to anything, find a nice way to ensure that he has ...ummhhh.... cleaned up his act a bit.

ummmhhh.... yeahhhh..... i don't want to be seen as getting on any high horses here.... or come off as self-satisfied or smug, BUT.....
this is kind of problematic to me.
i live part of every year in southeast asia and my academic work is based on ethnographic work in bangkok and manila and i see in all too real terms the consequences of white people acting out their fantasies on asian people
i know this is in the FETISH category, but let me just say that actions (and words) have real consequences, even if done in the spirit of play.

and i am saying and demonstrating that such an issue does not exist in a vacuum immune from prevailing social forces and realities.
    very much on topic.

    yes.
(i was just trying to be diplomatic with my prose.... and keep myself immune to being told to take it into the politics forum, where, actually, is where this kind of a discussion truly belongs..... the intersection of the personal and the poilitical.... the role of social forces on the decisions we make...._

    Just an update...
Although I love having "regulars" I rarely see the same guy in the same week. But I just returned from my second session, and it was wayyy better than the excellent first one. More relaxed, more relaxing, more flesh, more touch... etc., etc.
At the risk of sounding like a "shill" for him, I endorse him a second time. He told me that he is visiting Washington, D.C., and Boston during the month of August, btw.

Once, when I sought after a massage as a way to (unsuccessfully) purge myself of relationship break up blue, I used a ED pill as an "insurance policy" that my emotional moodiness would not interfere with my having a good time.
Although I remained moody for a few weeks yet to come, I have from time-to-time revisited the success of the pill much to the admiration of the masseur-in-charge (I might add....)!

As an East Village "pretty boy", I was definitely a frequent visitor during the 80. Stay out all night long, find our way to the LIRR to Sayville, find a way to get to the ferry, and "come to" at the sight of the clubs and people as the boat docked at the Pines.
I felt different from the kaftan wearing men of the Pines and did not really understand much of what was going on, but I loved the beach, and walking the wood slatted walkways, making my way through the Meat Rack, and finding a much livelier and more relevant crowd of men and women in Cherry Grove.
People around me were dying. The East Village was one of the epicenters of AIDS, but we struggled to create a community of mutual care and assistance during a time of crisis.
The whole Fire Island thing was fun (for a day trip), but it seemed like a place totally unto itself, having no relevance to the lives of younger, activist types like myself and my friends.

Young and dumb….just the way I like ‘em.  I am sure he would be offended by my saying that.  My point: like my momma used to say…If can’t say anything nice, keep your mouth shut.  She also said that if you cant take the heat, you should stay out of the kitchen. If he doesnt want attention on his actions, he should stay off of TikTok and Twitter.

I met with him and have to agree with most of what @beethoven wrote.
It's like I was happy when I was there, but I always felt like something more should have happened. I went for him full price VIP package and while he is technically good, there seemed to be a lack of the sexual passion that he had seemed to promise. He does not seem to like to be touched.
His "type" calls out for all sorts of fantasies but he is actually very very withholding. As I walked away, I felt like not much had really happened. And SOOO much pressure to leave a review! Over exposure is not a good thing especially when it creates unrealistic expectations.
