I would venture that MOST of these guys resent the idea of this public discussion of what should be quite private. Especially with the entitled attitude of many of the people who post here. It is often forgotten that these guys are human beings trying to earn a living and the cattiness and rude shit people say all over this site is generally not any way you’d likely ever talk about your lawyer, or your dentist, or your plumber. (Especially when it comes to the nonsense I read on here with people complaining about rates …. Again - do you haggle your other professionals?). A lot of the dudes in here really need to wake up.

I've seen discussions about men where one member claims he's a scammer, yet dozens of other members claim he is a great regular and recommend hiring.  How would that be classified?  Keeping all comments regarding experiences with one man, both positive and negative, help the readers decide whom to believe.

Some of my regular and most favorite massuers haven't updated their photographs in over a decade.  I would not consider any of them to be scammers any more than I would consider a restaurant a scammer for showing picture-perfect photographs on their menu that never look as good as the food when it arrives at my table.

I have certainly run across this myself. As I stated above...I didn't hand the extra money over as JUST "a tip". I shared my opinion that he should consider charging more, becasue the quality of the service warranted a higher price.
I've even shared this same opinion after observation with restaurant owners with whom I am friendly, when they open a new location. If the price seemed off compared to the quality of food and service, I am less inclined to simply take advantage, and more inclined to help my friend understand their true value.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — There have been reports of people being turned away at airports and border crossings over messages found on their phones and laptops
"Customs and Border protection can ask you to turn over your phone and they are able to look at it and go through it. If they don't like what they see on it and there's something that might be unlawful or contrary to newer regulations, they can keep your phone," said attorney Kevin Burke Jr. at Gross Shuman P.C in Buffalo.
Burke said "the Border patrol can ask to review what's on your phone or what's on your laptop, but you can control the scope of what they're looking at, so what I'm telling folks is it's probably a better idea to log out of any email or to log out of any personal accounts. And if they do ask to review your email, or they do ask to look at your laptop, you say something like yes, officer, let me get that for you."
Some of his business clients have been asked to turn over their cell phones or have their laptops reviewed.  
The political climate and crackdown on illegal immigrants is part of the reason for the increased scrutiny. 
"Strong positions one way or another on what's happening over in Gaza, as an example, strong positions one way or another on Ukraine and Russia, even strong positions on the tariff situation," Burke said. "Those are things that they are looking for and you know if there's a way, to avoid giving them excuse to turn you away."

Update to the comment I made above. He called me I apologized. I couldn't believe it and I could tell he was sincere now I had a choice to make however. Perhaps not. But as of today, it still is. We were slightly below 5000 in May of 2024.  
The market spiked (unreasonably) after the election.
We are slightly below 5000 as of my writing.
So as of today, I still view this as a correction. So do the investment experts who I follow.
Let's see what the rest of the week brings.  
For my part, I see buying opportunity and a decrease in the prime rate would definitely make me a happy man. Rates have been way too high for way too long.
I have no reason to change my budget for massage services or anything else at this point.

I never even check these things, but I happened to see my IRA total on Friday (because I had to add money before tax day)- it had decreased 10% in a few days! While I was initially upset, I quickly realized that it was actually a good time to add money, so less money now will mean more in the future!
Regarding the topic at hand, I can’t afford it to begin with (I just spend it anyway), so it will not impact my spending on providers at all.

I think there are two things constraining demand at the moment, in the whole economy in the US and elsewhere not just in this specialised business. One is the sudden loss of wealth, which will last until there are signs of recovery. The other is the uncertainty effect that is more transitory, people don't want to do anything when they have no idea what's going on. That should ease when things settle down, for better or worse.

I had one of my regulars, entirely unsolicited, propose a session and another trio session with his partner for this week.  Very anecdotal evidence, but I don't think the guys are busy.
I work in luxury sales in NYC.  Our flagship store, normally bustling with activity and sales over the weekend, was DEAD.  This is again very anecdotal, but from my perspective customers are clearly pulling back from spending on luxury.

To get back to the OP’s question…
I feel there may well be a drop in demand for all personal services. But older men are more likely to be well-established financially and therefore prove to be reliable clients. 
 
Older men may, like me, be of a certain age and more concerned to spend more of their income while they still can. Enjoying life and all its myriad pleasures is my main goal. 

Here's my concern for the guys I interact with regularly who are good guys, take the experience very seriously, and support themselves comfortably:
I will intentionally try to avoid politics in this comment and stick to the basic economics as it relates to discretionary spending:
the market is a leading indicator or economic activity measured by GDP consumer spending is about 68% of GDP a cycle occurs, when consumers feel less confident, they spend less (their spending is 68% GDP) and this fuels a cycle of reduced GDP when consumers spend less, their biggest control is on discretionary spending - and - ahem - for many, these services are necessarily discretionary. Now let's go to the other side:
weak economic circumstances may force many to pursue "alternative sources" of income supply and demand would mean that, all else equal, more providers with reduced demand means lower prices or reduced schedules. I see all this as interlinked and providing a potentially bleak short term outlook for our friends on the provider side.
Having said all this, I believe that a well situated professional provider will stand out from the crowd and maintain a full schedule -  albeit, probably with a little less pricing power.
But who knows - maybe I'm wrong and the markets will bounce back this week.
 

Spring fever ?
Any competent investor knows how to weather a correction in the market.
Real Estate is a great place to be right now. Rental income is way up due to a collapsed dollar. Crashing the stock market will slow the economy and force the Fed to lower interest rates. Lower rates will create a wider spread on Real Estate investments and bring increased profit. But these cycles take months. So personally I would love the market to crash. Right now it's just a correction from overblown hype. Hardly a "crash".
But there are certainly more than a few people with money in the markets who are ill prepared to understand a long range strategy ..so those types will indeed, panic and lower their spending in response.
The smart person with the right diversity and understanding of the opportunity that comes from downward movement will be forecasting an INCREASED income.
Escorts and masseurs can be viewed as an Indulgence or as a necessity for your overall mental health. To me...if your entire sex life is based on hiring, I would equate cutting back on escort spending as an example of the old "deciding between medicine and food" trope.  Sad that your retirement strategy was so poorly planned that you worry about a simple market correction.

With stocks in deep decline during the last week, I shudder each time I look at my investment portfolios.  Luckily, my current income is more than sufficient to fund 3-4 sessions per month, which is a level that I am happy with.
