Oh I remember him. He was a fixture for quite a while. The dancers would gravitate to his table near the dance floor. He would pass out paper money like it was napkins.
He was there with a posse of dancers one night when I was there, and most of them were hanging out at his table.
Either through the use of my amazing seduction skills or merely that they were just bored with DL, I managed to seduce three of them to sit by me at the bar and let me cuddle them while they bought me drinks for two hours.
I was amazed these guys were paying for my drinks until the bartender later told me that they had charged it all to DL's tab!

Surprisingly the trend is led by the under 30s crowds.
Americans are not having sex, according to national survey - The Washington Post
Is that the same cohort who invented "No-Fap November?"

I have a 77 year-old longtime friend who just recently took up the edible habit last year; dark chocolate is already his go-to favorite now.
He figures if there are long term side effects that might show up in 10-20-30 years he's really not worried about them at this point.
I'm patiently waiting for Maryland to legalize it so I can try some of that chocolate myself!

Damn. I finally found what may be my first thread. August, 2000. As usual, I was um, outspoken.

Lucky! I joined in 1998, but my first post was also August 2000. Don't try to look it up. It's pathetic. And I haven't changed a bit!
Well...except for all the parts wearing out!

Love this. Wonder if it's from a longer video.
Edit: Found it. This is a clip of Trent Garrett taken by his girlfriend and shared on the web.

A bit off topic... but I’m also looking to an upcoming iOS release that will allow your Apple Watch to unlock your iPhone, while you’re wearing a mask ??
It's out already in Beta and I LOVE it. Best new iOS feature in over a year!

Yesterday I could not find my car key. I knew that it was in the car because the car would start. But I could not lock it. My husband and I tore the car appart looking for it. My car dealer is nearby, so I went there. The agent became frustrated too as he could not find it. Finally, he lifted the passenger seat and it dropped out. It was stuck, not under, but in the bottom of the seat.
So I went to Amazon and bought a package of Tile tracking devices. There were 4 in the pack, so I have one attached to my key chain, one to the husband's keys, and one to our dog. Using the phone app, I can get each tracker to beep. I don't know what it does if the Tile is a couple of blocks away.
Anyone else tracking things?
I used Tiles until they stopped working after a couple of years. They worked OK, but I had little use for them. I don't recall ever misplacing anything that had a Tile attached to it, so I wasn't motivated to replace them.
For your car key example, I'm not sure Tile would have helped. I don't think they are super accurate so although they would probably indicate that the keys were inside the car, I don't think they'd be able to pinpoint them to a specific location under a car seat. My experience with them was when they first came out, so who knows if they've improved their precision since then.
Regarding distant Tiles, when a unknown Tile is detected by the Tile app, it "phones home" and notifies the Tile servers where your Tile is located. This is a great feature, but it only works if there are other people in your neighborhood also using the Tile app.
Apple has a new tracking tile coming out "any day now" (lol) and I'll probably try them. The big advantage they are said to have over the Tile tags is that they can track items to within 5-10cm.

I suppose here is a good platform to announce my Semi Retirement as I entered a new career in May. I’m working a 9-5 and boy has it been an adjustment. I’m happy to start the career I dreamed of in an industry I’m passionate about - Wealth Management. I’m upset at the Pandemic for forcing this move upon me sooner than I had planned, but the universe set this upon us all. I love and appreciate my connections and travels. I hope to still travel on a weekend basis and keep in contact with many of you. Overall I must say thank you for everything and it’s been a fun ride. I hope you’re all well and healthy. I’ll always love this chapter in my life. Take care.
Good luck, Victor. This is an exciting new phase of your life!

I've actually had very few jobs. Let see... orange picker, busboy, USAF enlisted, research technician, and then a series of software developer positions taking me up to now. Each of them had downsides, but none were terrible, not even the 6 years in the AF.

Whole milk growing up, though mostly on cereal or with Nesquik chocolate or strawberry mix.
Now it's unsweetened soy, almond, or oat milk in coffee or in protein smoothies. I never drink any milk straight.

I don't talk to people very often, so I can't think of anything I get asked so often I've decided I hate the question.
Most of my conversations are totally superficial.

yes, Cora's is the breakfast place....thanks....I remember very friendly, unfussy staff and great food
I figured out the fish and chips place is Comptoir 21, but the St. C. location is evidently closed and they now only seem to be in a neighborhood called Verdun on Rue Wellington....
Cora's: So much fruit with every dish! It's great!

I used to donate money every year to the men's wrestling team at a local college. That gave me a number of perks including front row attendance at any match and permission to watch any of the practice sessions.
It was fun and I saw an incredible collection of hot guys, but I stopped after a few seasons because, honestly, the experience made me feel like a creep.

Would that be a Hot and Cold Buffet?

Found out about Goldbelly this week. Expensive but great way to get food from places like NYC now that I can't travel.
Yes! Love Goldbelly. One of my favorites from there is The Little Pie Company. The sour cream apple walnut pie is out of this world.

I started it, but the "laws" all seemed to be the sorts of suggestions that if followed closely would turn you into a sociopath. I didn't like it at all.
