  1. As an avid fan of Amazon, which I like for its convenience and rapid delivery, I do worry that the corporate giant is damaging retail merchants. A part of my thinking is that this is an inevitable change, as computers affect shopping habits the more people get used to them. Today's Guardian, though, has a striking article on the topic. What do Amazon fans do in light of this information?

Back in the day, I was a big fan of Amazon, and I've shopped with them since 1996.

However, lately I've grown to despise Bezos, and I cringe every time I fall back in a moment of weakness to buying anything from that website.

I still love shopping on-line but I will go out of my way to buy directly from the manufacturers online stores when available, even if it costs more or takes longer.

  2. "I’m a man of very few words so here we go.

IF YOU CONTACT ME YOU WILL NEED TO PROVE YOUR CURRENT LOCATION BY MAP By Text immediately. STATE YOUR BUSINESS IN YOUR FIRST MESSAGE TO ME TO AVOID GOING BACK AND FORTH ALONG WITH YOUR BUDGET.

Must have a face pic it is a requirement in order to meet me please respect it.

Let me think about that for a second -- *10 millisecond pause* -- YES! It's a huge turnoff!!

  3. There was a brief moment when buying someone s underwear was a thing? How much would you pay? Anyone else interested in sniffing worn underwear?

There are a few people I know whose underwear I would be interested in acquiring, but I'd throw them out once I familiarized myself with their scent.

I'm too finicky to keep dirty underwear around for long :)

  4. I am 40+ yo... in the past year or so I stopped eating beets. Ate them my entire life.. just because. I do not enjoy them. So I stopped.

I have substituted lettuce with spinach on burgers, sandwiches etc. . Iceberg is basically roughage. Little to No flavor and mostly water.

I fully support that approach! If you don't like something, don't eat it! :)

  5. As impressive as that sounds, one has to wonder whether it was accurate information. While I acknowledge that an employee might be accessing different data than what's available to customers via a website, I went to Target recently to buy an ink jet cartridge which was listed as "last one left" at my nearest store. I got there and there were several of them.

I've had the reverse experience as well, leaving disappointed because the item I wanted that was supposedly in stock was nowhere to be found.

I'm confused why, given that inventory control is computerized is most stores, that they aren't able to tell you exactly how many of any given item is available at any time of the day or night.

    Shoplifters, maybe?

  6. In the summer, when I'm relaxing at home, I keep the temperature at 80. If I'm working out, doing housework, or slaving in front of a hot computer screen, I might lower the thermostat to 77. Anything lower and I feel too cold.

I start to sweat once the temperature hits 83 degrees. ?

  7. It seems criminally negligent to open these places up now given that the US is seeing 45,000 new cases of Coronovirus every day. The people who visit can make their own choice about whether to risk infecting themselves, but risking their family and community to wider infection is unacceptable. </soapbox>

  8. Yes. It usually starts with a PM about a common interest or similar story. Back-and-forth chat ensues, then a "Hey, gonna be in your town next week. Got time for a beer or coffee?"

There's the Palm Spgs forum weekend, too, of course!

Same here! I've met a number of folks from the board that way; though I've never been to Palm Springs. Used to meet up in Montreal and NYC with those who expressed a shared interest in the strip clubs. Met up with some people for a Swinging Richards trip a few years ago.
