Ah ok. When I was 35 my grandparents were in their early 90s and I always told them I hoped to live at that age someday and be like them (they were relatively healthy and didn't need assistance at the time.) Always made them smile & chuckle when I told them that.

East coast boy here, never been to PS. Provincetown is a beautiful special place. It's the gayest place east of the Mississippi. As someone else mentioned, you don't need a car in fact a car is a liability. You can walk (or bike) the entire town easily. The town is crowded, but that's part of the charm - there is a real "vibe" on Commercial Street, you can easily get a room off the main drag where it will be quieter. "In season" is Memorial to Labor Day and there are theme weeks throughout the season, so check the schedule before you book - make sure you want to be there on family week, bear week, women's week, etc. There are a handful of bars and 100+ great restaurants to choose from. The beaches are stunning. As a young man Provincetown changed my life. As a child of upstate NY my world was very small until had the opportunity to go to PTown a few summers (during college) and learned about the cornucopia of men and opportunity out there. I eventually moved to Boston where I still live, and visit PTown occasionally. These days I much prefer PTown off season. During the Spring/Fall there are much fewer people (still enough to be fun) and still many stores/restaurants open. I have been a few times in the dead of winter and it's eerily and beautifully quiet. NY Eve is actually a great time to go to PTown, if you can stand the winter there is a small crowd and the bars are fun. There is also a bear weekend during the winter. The town used to be more of a "living" working class/fishing town with the seasonal summer gay crowd, time and money has driven almost all the townies out and you can't touch real estate for < $1m. Even the schools all closed a few years ago b/c there are so few children left in town. As for Dick Dock, it was much more of a thing - in fact was wild back in the day (lots of) guys would literally meet under a dock at the edge of town after the bars closed. It's much less so now, but the streets are cruisy late at night (and, of course there's always Grindr). PTown is a must for your bucket list.......? Oh, if you do go.....stay at the Carpe Diem Guest House (& Spa) the enclosed courtyard and spa are clothing optional.

Me neither but that's changing in 3.5 weeks! I saw Inndulge was fully booked so I just made reservation at desert paradise across the street. Hope to meet some of you guys! My second shot is in 9 days so will be vaccinated by then but will still be wearing face mask, etc.

I had the J&J shot yesterday so I will be in prime hugging mode. I really miss that feeling of connection. Funny how you take some things for granted.

I've never been to Palm Springs (going there first time next month) but have gone to Provincetown several times over the years.
One thing I found interesting about Provincetown is during the summer, each week practically has its own theme: bear week, family week, women's week, carnival week, etc.

I didn't know about that policy. Perhaps in the future Atlantis/RSVP can devote specific times when the sauna is men only or women only? I'd think the females who go to gay cruises tend to be lesbians and would prefer a sauna of the same gender?

If you do take the tram and intend to spend more than a few minutes at the top TAKE a sweatshirt or jacket. Even when it is hot in Palm Springs it is quite cool or down right cold at the top. I'm afraid of heights so I did it only once and don't intend to ever do it again. I do agree with IronMaus that the views are spectacular.

If you haven't checked rental car rates lately you really should 1st. I don't know about PS but most places they've exploded. A couple places I go a lot and usually get sub-$200/wk rates are now over $650/wk for an economy! Rental companies dumped most of their cars for the pandemic and haven't begun restocking yet even though travel is increasing fast.

I've been told that the tram is a great excursion, but I've not done it on my two forum weekends. I would say do it if you can but don't lose any sleep if you miss out. As for renting a car, I didn't on my first weekend, when I was only doing PS, and did on the second when I was going to Las Vegas as well and planned to drive (and did) between the two. If this year is anything like previous ones, there will be people in the hotel that have cars so you'll be able to travel with them to the events (assuming you are in one of the resorts where a number of forum members are staying). I would say if you're thinking about renting a car, see what daily rate you can get and if that's about what you'd expect for two or three Uber rides a day, rent it. There's no right answer. (I only drove on the left hand side of a road once on my last visit.)

YES! The tram is a must-see. It's the biggest tram you'll ever ride, spins while it moves so you get all the views, and the giant forest on top of the mountain is like no other. Don't plan a big hike though because the oxygen up there makes a pleasant walk feel like run.

    I definitely understand.
Money and lifestyle typically play a role in any relationship. And when’s there’s more “distance” between the two people involved, one has to be increasingly mindful about the balance of the dynamic.

I've been on 3 RSVP cruises. They were great. I would pick an all-gay cruise over an integrated cruise any day. I don't mind paying the higher prices, because the entertainment and guys on board are worth it! The only reason I don't do more gay cruises is the time of year or ports of call aren't to my liking on some of the itineraries.

I truly wish there was an all men, Gay cruise. The extra effort to include the ladies really hampers the logistics. Half of the public toilets are reserved for about two dozen guests, while thousands of men wait to share the other half. Hundreds of men want to be naked in the spa, sauna, or steam room, but one lady objects so we got to keep it covered. Haven't been on Vacaya, but the ads look to promote a lot more female travels. For that reason alone, I will stick with RSVP or Atlantis. But please, someone let us know if I'm mistaken about Vacaya.

Restaurants re-opened for limited indoor dining yesterday, and the PS Art Museum re-opens April 1st. The aerial tram is running again, but one needs a reservation, and a friend told me yesterday that she couldn't get a reservation earlier than the end of this month, so you may want to try to get one now for that weekend.

Received a call from the social worker. First off daddy’s condition remains unchanged. She called to let me know that a long time friend of daddy’s from the state of Washington was appointed by the hospital to be his decision maker for his health care. Sadly, no family member was found.

I remember taking my best friend's sister on a movie date to see Victim in 1961. It was definitely an eye-opener for her.

I thoroughly enjoyed Lifetime's presentation of The Christmas Setup. It was a tonic for me to experience a gay-themed movie that is positive and uplifting from beginning to end (there is more than enough LGBTQ strife off-screen). The co-stars of the movie are real-time married couple Ben Lewis and Blake Lee (sigh):

Thank you for sharing! I myself have never heard of the films Victim and Happy Together and hope to watch them someday.
Personal favorite of mine is also the tree scene in Beautiful Thing. That was the first LGBT movie I had ever watched.

I think it depends on who else is booked at your resort. My friend stayed there last summer and LOVED it. He stayed at both Santiago and Vista Grande and though he loved both resorts, between the two he had more action at Santiago. Again, it all depends on who else is staying there.
