I just looked it up, and the government passed Bill C-36 in 2014 which criminalizes the purchase (including communication for purchase) but not the sale of such services, with 5 years imprisonment as a potential consequence. Trudeau voted against it, but when he became Prime Minister in 2015, he did not repeal it.

Not sure I understand the difference between decriminalization and legality. I thought in Canada the person who purchases services is the one who is charged, and that the provider is not held responsible... is it a misdemeanor? Fine vs. incarceration? On your record?

Thanks... The vaccine guidelines stop at age 45, likely because most people have been exposed to HPV by then. I'm a bit older than 45 but have never been exposed to HPV - unless it may have happened when I was abused more than 40 years ago. I have never had any sexual interaction with anyone since, including kissing. So I think I may be free and clear, so to speak.

This. Even someone who is well within what is considered the 'normal' range can end up feeling completely inadequate if criticized or humiliated.

I remember that too. If I'm not mistakenthe mother was named Alice Kissler, or something like that, and I think her daughter was named Susan. But it's been 35 years or more since I read that. I still remember their photo though. Apparently there was some controversy about whether or not Susan was her daughter, or her grandaughter born to an unwed daughter.

It's difficult to have a positive attitude in that situation, but important nonetheless. Sometimes we are just one good or bad decision away from a life-changing occurence.

Just to clarify, Diana and Charles were divorced in August 1996 - a year before her death. I'm not sure when her relationship with Dodi began, but at the time of her death she was no longer matrimonially connected to Charles.

I'm not suggesting that we need to know whether Guy has a DNR - that's nobody's business but his and whomever he would want to know. What I meant is that generally speaking, if a person has a DNR it is good for someone to know about it. When a relative was diagnosed with a terminal illness, he made sure that a number of us knew that he had a DNR. Just in case he was incapacitated those of us on his contact list could let the hospital know. That's all I was meaning.

I think it's important to know if a DNR or other type of directive is in place even in cases when the situation may not be dire. Things can unfortunately become unstable very quickly, so the more informed the medical staff is, the more likely they can stay true to a patient's wishes. If he does not have family handy or easy to reach, it may be that they wouldn't know if a directive exists anyway. Two weeks on a ventilator is serious of course, but not unheard of - lets hope his body is using this time to heal effectively.
