I'm a bit concerned about the purple rash...

Thou shouldst not give heed to any of thine folk who dost think thou usest antiquated English. But that is mine own opinion ?
-
Have never met him, but in messaging with him through this site he strikes me as a super nice guy and a solid human being.

Mabel Normand. We graduated together in 1910. Well, it sometimes feels like I could have graduated back then. Old soul and all that.

A friend of a friend was diagnosed with a terminal illness at the beginning of the pandemic and given 9 -12 months to live. Its now been 7 months since her diagnosis and she hasnt been able to do any of the things she would have wanted to do during her final months. It breaks my heart to know that there are many others in similar circumstances.

I suppose there is a difference though from deriving pleasure and deriving attention from an act of kindness, and also, whether or not someone is being kind for the primary purpose of getting pleasure themselves, or if that pleasure just happens to be a happy consequence of their actions.
-
Sadly, there's not enough time for me to make up for what I continue to miss! Lol.

I would guess that the person who did the act of kindness was not a glory seeker, but that the person who called him that may be the actual glory seeker. I dont think most people who would hear about an act of kindness would assume it was for personal glory, unless they themselves have sought attention by doing nice things for others.

A lot of people are surprised that Canada also has a history of slavery. Until slavery was abolished by the British Empire in the early 1800s, there were British in what became Canada who owned black slaves. And the French owned a number of Indigenous slaves too. The climate here was not conducive to large plantation-style operations, which may be why slavery in Canada did not grow like it did in the southern USA. We may think Canada's history is one of greater acceptance and social equality, but sadly, our lack of widespread slavery was probably connected more to climate and economic realities. Canadians have a lot to be sorry for with respect to our history - though I know you were not suggesting otherwise is any way

When did you finally embrace your Daddy Identity?
CuriousByNature replied to orville's topic in The Lounge
So there seems to be a hairiness factor that's been mentioned, and possibly a height factor too in determining who might be a 'daddy'. Is there also an assuption that the daddy would take the more 'active' role, and that those looking for a daddy would tend to be small and thin? Or do built guys who are tops also seek out daddies who bottom and may be shorter than they are. I know that there's likely a lid for every pot, but generally speaking, who is the type of guy that is looking for a daddy? Sorry for my ignorance... as someone who may be a daddy but not know it! Lol. -
Gender reveal party fire death, charge them with manslaughter!
CuriousByNature replied to Otto's topic in The Lounge
Wow... thats dangerous. Just tell people the gender by text or by phone - lol. It seems everything these days has to be a party. What's next, throwing a party to tell people your colonoscopy results? -

This is a tragic story all around. The expectant parents are probably in shock and grieving at their own negligence at a time when they would otherwise be celebrating. There likely will be prosecution, but I don't know how severe the punishment would or should be unless it can be proven that intent to cause harm was involved. This may even be a horrible accident, though I dont know all the details of the story and I'm not sure how those machines are supposed to work. So very sad for all involved. -
I agree that Jesus doesn't like 'homos'. He loves 'homos'. Just as he loves 'heteros', 'bisexuals', 'assexuals' etc. There is a verse somewhere that says something to the effect that, in Christ there is no male or female, slave or free, Jew or Gentile. I have little doubt this also could rightly be extended to any characteristics that make us different from one another... no black or white, no tall or short, no straight or gay....

Poughkeepsie?

Awesome architecture in Chicago, and deep-dish pizza!

Nope. You're just balancing things out for the few of us who are at the other end of the spectrum. Your and my average works out to 601.

Hurricane-force Winds Wreak Havoc in Salt Lake City
CuriousByNature replied to rvwnsd's topic in The Lounge
I think the question mark is properly placed outside the quotation marks. Otherwise it turns the word 'wreak' into a question, rather than the whole phrase being the question. -
I had an uncle with chronically bad breath. Not a smoker or garlic eater and his teeth seemed clean. My aunt told me he had something called tonsiliths or tonsil stones. Apparently food can get trapped in the tonsils and these chunks of foul smelling bacteria form. Not a pleasant experience I'm sure.

Many cruise ship cabins have two single beds which are pushed together to form a king. I suppose some suites would have regular king size beds too.

There's six faces, but you need to really zoom in to see the people on deck...

My avatar is the letter "C", though some might suggest that using the letter "O" would be truer to my body-type.

Everyone has their own comfort level. I could not see myself entering any relationship with someone in a straight or gay marriage. But I also have no right to judge others who don't have an issue with it. Whether the marriage is same-sex or not, I personally would not cross that line. But that's me, and I know I may be in the minority on that subject.

Sweetbreads can be really good. I guess I wouldn't say no to a well-prepared thymus.

To me... married = off limits. But I suppose we all have our choices to make.
-
Not me... I find offal awful.
