  1. I really do not want to get into a political discussion on the finance forum. But would just like to point out that Americans saying the U.S. is on the wrong track could have various causes beyond a pure gauge of the economy. For example, many people surely think the country is on the "wrong track" after the Supreme Court overruling Roe V Wade. Certainly the economy contributes to those numbers but there are certainly other factors as well.
  2. We may be in a technical recession but let's put things in perspective: GDP decreased by .2 percent in the 2nd quarter followed by a .4 in the first. Overall a .6 percent GDP decline is significant but so far a fairly mild recession. The great recession of 2008-2009 saw GDP fall nearly 3 percent and it fell more than 9 percent in the pandemic. There were a few small GDP declines in 2010 and 2014 that are more in line with what we're experiencing now. Though it is concerning that it's now been two quarters of declines. Other aspects of the economy are doing quite strongly. The unemployment rate is at 3.6 percent nationally...that is historically very low. And we're still seeing strong job growth with 372,000 jobs added in June. Wages are also up 5.1% for the year. Of course all of this strong employment picture contributes to higher inflation as well as the many international crises (war in Ukraine, China's COVID lockdowns, continued shipping problems) causing higher inflation. This is exactly why the Fed is raising rates. And gasoline prices are down .78 cents a gallon from their highs just a month ago...that in itself is a big contributor to inflation. We're also truly starting to see shipping get back to normal and many stores are now offering huge discounts after realizing they overstocked thinking shipping delays would continue. I was just at Target the other day and got clothing and home goods at huge discounts. Overall, while the GDP decline is troubling, until we see that affecting employment, I don't think we should freak out. Inflation really may be turning a corner as well and we could be on our way to that "goldilocks" economy like we had in the late 90s where unemployment was low and inflation was moderate.
  3. My standard is an extra $20 kind of regardless of the price of service. Sometimes $50 if it's like an overnight. But no more than that.
  4. Got an appointment scheduled for tomorrow. Quicker than I was expecting. Glad to get it done.
  5. Just signed up to get the vaccine here in Denver. They do seem to be trickling through the public health services. I have a few friends who've been able to get it already. I'm on a waitlist apparently. They are only giving out the vaccine at a clinic every Wednesday. It doesn't look like I'll get it this Wednesday but maybe next. Curious any side effects for those who've taken it? COVID shots kinda kicked my butt but the Jynneos one doesn't seem to have major side effects. Is that right?
  6. TMZ has some information on Alex Wollet: https://www.tmz.com/2022/07/22/clark-kent-lookalike-january-hearing-identified-alex-wollet-superman/ They have a picture of him without glasses and honestly he looks better with them. Definitely my type! Sexy man!
  7. I really like this Thai noodle stir fry with a peanut sauce: https://www.food.com/recipe/thai-noodles-with-spicy-peanut-sauce-99918 I make it easier by just buying some pre-cooked Asian noodles (tofu noodles work really well actually). I made it once with linguini and felt it didn't take the sauce as well.
  8. Yeah I think there are a few sus pics here. I think I'm avoiding this guy.
  9. Is it just me or is there something weird about this guy's pics? Like bad photoshop or something. https://app.rent.men/Finnjock
  10. Very sad that he passed. So young and seemed like a humble, cool guy. Really sad that so many of these gay porn talents die so young.
  11. I am not sure if this is a brand new thing or I am just noticing it. But it appears that you can now delete reviews on Rent.Men after you posted them. I didn't think you could do that before. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just way behind on this feature? I already decided to delete two reviews from guys early on that I didn't really like but felt "pressure" to right a review for.
  12. I kind of always assume that anyone on a hook-up site is there to hook up, not to hire/be hired. To me, the clarification should be more on the sex worker's end instead of the client's end especially if he is the one who initiates the conversation. Like if he DMs you on grindr, he should be pretty forthright that he is doing so as a sex worker not just to hook up. So I think you did make a mistake bringing up his SW stuff that you knew about from outside the hookup app.
  13. Pretty strong jobs report this week. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/08/business/economy/wages-jobs-fed-rates.html Definitely not looking like a recession yet, but with inflation still high the Fed will surely keep raising rates at a fast clip.
  14. Possibly. I'm there for a wedding so I know I'm going to be tied up on some nights, but yeah we might be able to do that. Message me if you want and we'll connect.
  15. OOh I like using biscoff cookies. I think that would make a flavorful crust.
  16. This happened to me one time too. I accidentally gave the provider a $20 instead of a $50 so was $30 short. I felt so bad and made it up to him on Venmo. I've actually gotten in the habit now of keeping the money in a separate pocket completely out of my wallet so I don't mix up my wallet money with my provider money.
  17. I live in Denver, but I'm weirdly going to NYC next week so maybe I'll see if I can find it. It might be at specialty stores here too.
  18. These sound good, but where does one get these Torres chips? I don't think I've seen them.
  19. I think it's good to reach out to someone who wrote a review to get a better sense. As for me, I use Uber rules and pretty much do 5-stars or none at all. So even when I give a five-star review, it's not always a 5-star experience. And I'm happy to provide context.
  20. What's your go-to snack? Mine is just some chips and salsa or hummus. Satisfying and simple. What about you all?
  21. Yep..I recommend although found him to be a bit aggressive in messaging. But the experience was pleasant and he's a fun, attractive due.
  22. There in Denver now. I tried to contact RTLuiss and it was kind of a weird conversation so I decided against meeting. I'm thinking they're not native English speakers, which isn't necessarily a problem. But there was also an element of trying to get more money out of me than I was comfortable with. I think they are travelling together and are trying very hard to upcharge for the both of them.
  23. I've been enjoying the new season of Umbrella Academy. I like how they dealt with the Vanya/Victor and Ellen/Eliot Page aspect of the story. And overall am enjoying the action and the new Sparrow Academy element.
  24. I specifically asked my GP about the monkeypox vaccine during my last Prep appointment. She said they are not giving it out for the general public yet only if you've suspected you had an exposure or for health-care workers. She did say that if she were able to prescribe it, she definitely would though. Hopefully in the US soon.
