Hlparx reacted to Jamie21 in Are Rates Raising?
If he’s too expensive for you you’re shopping in the wrong shop. Client : “That’s expensive, my regular guy charges £100” Me : “go to your regular guy then”.
No one is forcing you to pay the rate that your prospective provider is asking. It’s not like he’s the only guy in town and you’re buying a life essential is it? You can decide to go elsewhere or just not buy. However the reason he does what he does for payment is precisely because he has qualities and skills you can’t get elsewhere. So pay his rate if you value what he does.
Some people seem to think doing this kind of work is easy. Almost like it’s so easy and fun it should be done for free. Those people should try it for a while and see just how ‘easy’ it is. Set yourself up in the business, charge the kind of rates you think you’d be happy to pay. See how long you last….

As an escort, I'd say you were generous in even offering him half. Clearly, you're a good egg
COVID/Monkeypox should make people a bit more understanding. Shit happens. It is what it is. Unless someone has already outlayed a ton of money for the meet (airfare, excursions, a cruise, etc), I don't see how a single hour or even an overnight cancelled should piss someone off so much.
Move forward knowing you did the right thing.

Bottom line, you can be critical without being an asshole.
Know that difference. It's what separates trash from treasure.

Hlparx reacted to Jamie21 in saying hello when you see an escort out socially
Has happened to me a few times and is awkward. Not because I’m embarrassed; most of my friends know what I do and I’m quite open about it in my social groups, so on the few occasions clients have recognised me I’ve not been anxious about what they might say.
The awkwardness comes from me not recognising them as a client in a different setting. Obviously I know my regulars but the occasional client or once off I wouldn’t remember their face if approached at a pub or on the street.
A few occasions guys have smiled or acknowledged me and I’ve really not known who the hell they are. I kind of recognise the face but struggle to say where from? Is it that guy at the gym? Or some former work associate? Or is it the massage client who likes his prostate worked over? Awkward… I just smile back and pretend I know them while desperately hoping they’ll give me a clue if conversation starts:
Him “hi! how are you?”
Me “oh hi, good thanks how’s you?”
Him “good session last time”
Me (thinking ah yes it’s prostate guy) “yes I’m glad you enjoyed it”
Him “er…yes I needed it”
Me (it’s definitely prostate guy) “absolutely, I was impressed how you shot your load so far when I gave your prostate a press!”
Him (looking suddenly confused) “what?”
Me (oh fuck, it’s the guy from the gym) “er I said I was impressed by the load on the bar as you lay prostrate on the bench press”
Him (looking at me like I’m a weirdo) “yeah mate, see you around”
Me (dying inside) “yeah, see you”
Can’t visit that gym anymore…

Hlparx reacted to rdwyer78 in How to get providers to arrive on time
My favorite was when a provider (my first time seeing him) cancelled on me 15 minutes before our appointment time so he could see a regular client of his. The provider did not offer to reschedule, and I wouldn't have accepted!

When I’m with my American clients I use my best English accent, it always works a charm.
Of course an Englishman will be able to immediately identify my class status as soon as I open my mouth…so it’s less useful with the locals, they can tell I’m just a Londoner. But a foreigner can’t tell and they assume I’m very posh (which indeed I am!). Of course if they want a cockney when I open my north and south then I can do that too.
And now I realise it’s straying off topic so just to keep things straight…I’ll do the accent for a tip, ok?

When I'm COMPELLED, I tip like Rockefeller... otherwise I align with Ms. Post.
If your fee is $400 or higher, I anticipate 'compelled' and that the tip is already builtin.

speaking as an american who travels a lot , i’m often embarrassed at my fellow country men , not only in terms of dress in places like Paris and Milan , but also demeanor and ignorance . The blame most certainly goes both ways

I find the payment component awkward overall, so I usually put the provider’s fee in an envelope on my nightstand or hand him an envelope. I usually do not include a tip because, at least in the US, part of the rationale for tipping is to supplement the wages of employees who usually are not making minimum wage. Because the provider has set his rate, tipping isn’t on the table in my view.
As others have said, if I have a good time and we seem to mesh, I will make an effort to see the provider regularly.
That being said, I have tipped one provider (in Paris) who accepted me for an outcall, but quoted me his incall rate. I did that because we’d had a previous meeting that had blown me away and he had volunteered to accept a lower rate than he normally charged.

I think you need to be logged in to, paid or not, to see size, circumcision status, position, and safety information. Having been paid in the past, paying gets you the ability to see semiprivate pics (and I think private as well) without asking the escort’s permission, and whatever videos they’ve posted.

At the end of the day, you did nothing wrong. You have to take care of yourself first and foremost above anything else.
You tried to help as much as you could, including giving him resources for additional assistance, etc. As much as we would like, you can only lead a horse to water. You can't make them drink it.
In terms of the bad review, as soon as you get to any sort of real quantity... it's bound to happen. Just remember at the end of the day, no matter what you do, you will not be able to please 100% of everyone you ever meet. Keep doing what you're doing and keep doing the right thing. In the end, it will work itself out. The good reviews will hopefully outnumber the bad reviews.
When I personally look at reviews, I'm looking for trends and commonalities in what someone says. If someone has absolutely NO bad reviews, in some cases I almost wonder if they're either fake or that the reviews there might be faked.

Most of my clients don’t tip. I know they’re satisfied though because they come back. If I charge by card the card reader has an option to add a tip but I don’t use it because it seems like I’m expecting them to tip, so card payments never include a tip. About 20% of clients pay by cash and some of them add a tip. I don’t expect it though. I prefer that if they enjoyed their session they book again or leave a positive review.

Hlparx got a reaction from + DrownedBoy in How does the European market compare to the North American?
Sometimes. For example, with some providers who advertise on both Hunqz and RM, they will charge more if you mention that you saw their profile on RM versus Hunqz. For example, one provider I saw in Paris a few years ago listed his RM rate at €200 and his Hunqz rate at €150. He’s since aligned them at the RM rate.
The rationale as I’ve heard it (from other members on the forum) is that Americans are more likely to use RM whereas Hunqz sees more European use.

Here’s an old thread about him.
I’m curious if there’s been more recent interactions since he’s been advertising since last year.
