Hot New (Gay) Hockey Series on CRAVE: Heated Rivalry
+ SirBillybob replied to dutchal's topic in TV and Streaming services
I’m not saying it should be developed and it might fall into the same complications as the shelved ‘The Savant’. I also don’t need a happy ending. I would prefer that story with a revised ending, the narrative truncated at a finishing line with the future imagined by viewers simply because it’s otherwise too controversial, to dragging out ‘Heated Rivalry’. The latter already has a sense of completion and I’m fine with leaving well enough alone. -

I pay subscriptions to slide left so much I can’t keep my balance, yet I wouldn’t mind not being able to walk straight once in a while. -
Hot New (Gay) Hockey Series on CRAVE: Heated Rivalry

The follow-up book beginning is already padded with many other characters as they weave into the couple’s life with varying degrees of being in the loop. Will be interesting to see what treatment the script will get as much of the ambiguity related to two solid pairings is essentially in the rear view mirror. I imagine some additional weighting will be given to the Scott/Kip narrative as that represents at least one complete novel and Arnaud has alluded to signing on. Some articles refer to Bridgerton and its popularity arc, breaking out into additional couplings by follow-up seasons, with the running thread of a different type of secrecy, but at least those characters were mostly all introduced first season so the springboard was there. -

Spoiler alert … Book: Jeep Cherokee not Range Rover. Dishwasher pods not phone charger lame excuse. No extended parent-child catharsis scene that I recall from finishing the book this week; that was written in to add emotional range even if thematically cliché, to the series’ credit. -

Most editions of Principles and Practice of Sex Therapy contain a chapter on aging. The latest is this fellow … Just a moment... ACADEMIC.OUP.COM -
Most of the answers are not relatable to all because there are actually some among us not American. In Canada the sex worker possesses impunity. The client does not, but there is at least one case where the client was ordered by the courts to pay the worker after she formally complained that he had refused to follow through on agreed upon payment following sex. He was not charged under the legislation that prohibits hiring, for which penalties can be quite substantial, as context is everything, that is, what justice is appropriately served. The thrust of the law is protecting the vulnerable from exploitation, mainly related to coercion and trafficking, and that is the central thing that it addressed in this case … exploitation via withholding compensation. That money was not exchanged did not make it consensual sex or legal. That said, there is discretion to lay charges against a purchaser for something as basic as procuring sex from an advertising sex worker in exchange for goods in kind. But authorities generally turn a blind eye whether it’s more traditional hiring or private lap dances in clubs, as these are minor relative to the organized crime of trafficking in adults, or worse, minors. Authorities can, therefore, use the big stick against a bad actor engaged in basic purchase aimed at procurement of a vulnerable person for his own eventual financial gain. He might plead out to rescind some of the charges. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is ruling whether escorts’ appointment drivers are considered protectors not chargeable versus facilitators for pimps where organized procurement occurs, or even if only the escort and driver comprise the business arrangement. It’s complex because a pimp takes a cut and a driver of a private escort without a pimp takes a cut, yet roles overlap. Pimping is associated with a stereotype of abuse.

The Russian monologue as spoken in the series is not in the book directly or modified as verbalized dialogue from the book but is cobbled together from Ilya’s thoughts about his discontent as if that would be the spoken content. The only line referenced is his key admission, which he muses afterwards about having verbalized, but the setup suggestion made that he best unburden in Russian is replicated. He also later processes in his mind what he had said and its implications. Some scenes’ dialogue is lifted from the book text but much of the books’ narrative is, as would be expected, characters’ interior content. There is a lot more emotional attachment thinking and associated mixture of elation and associated anxiety than can get realistically translated to film. -
That’s one possible way to pro Bono I hadn’t thought of. Nothing else works.

… Montreal’s Village. Though I think it would be from the Crave network early streaming as the episodes otherwise appear Sunday evenings. -

There is some Shayden tension of a sort in a bonus short story on Reid’s site. Otherwise, I think a significant plot line reveal will drop this week because it would bridge S2. Unless, again, the show’s future at time of initial production was too uncertain to add the content. Not naming it. -

It’s tomorrow, 12 more hours in my time zone to home free Monday. Not risking slipping and bashing my brains out on frigid Montreal ice. Thanks a lot. Had planned a rare Sunday evening strip club visit. -

I’ve sprung for the two novels a bit spaced apart in Reid’s soapy publishing chronology that cover extended Shane and Ilya history span with other central characters in additional novels woven in here and there. Funny and filthy (series script smut comparatively very tame) thus far though I’m just at the point of forecasting some of the final episode content for this season. Tone gets more serious in the second novel sample. -

Spoiler alert: based on name confusion inquiry Cliff Marlow in the books is Rozanov’s Boston Bears teammate (Raiders in series). They lost the eastern division to New York Admirals, that went on to defeat San Francisco for the cup, so he wouldn’t have landed on the Admirals following the ice mishap with Montreal’s Shane that season merely a few weeks earlier. The announcer referencing a Marlow/ Marleau for NY as they run out the clock and win would likely be a screenplay oversight yielding continuity error unless intended to be a different player same or similar name. -
If emtricitabine (FTC) is the component possibly responsible for anemia then TDF vs TAF is a moot distinction for tenofovir type and your switch simply carried over and maintained the adverse event … which tracks with your pre-Descovy trend. So I suppose you need to drill down into the literature on individual components to seek evidence of associations. A ‘washout’ may alleviate the anemia signals and help discern the association, but renders you unprotected. If FTC is indeed the problem your PrEP playbook may require a different switching up consideration to cabotegravir or lenocapavir after screening for their relations with red blood cell alterations. I cannot find a current study that would spare you getting inadvertently randomized to the Truvada arm and you cannot pre-select assignment to new PrEP candidates in development unless it’s an earlier phase trial for tolerance and drug levels; even then you would not get subsequent access to it in a sustained fashion until it hit the market following successful Phase3 results deeming the different drug class product noninferior to Truvada in effectiveness.
