  1. While I can appreciate your advice and see the logic to it, part of me rather dreads the idea of having the embarrassing doctor's appointment, etc., when insurance has already told me "no." BUT your point of checking again (to see if plans/coverages have been changed or updated, for example) is not a bad idea. It's worth another phone call to see if there is updated information.
  2. Maybe more a job for the Ted Turner "movie colorizer" than a make-up department....
  3. I thought you were going to say they had de-oranged the President....
  4. To answer your questions, in the order they were asked: 1) I called their benefits "help line" to ask about coverage specifically bout Truvada as PReP. This was several months after the drug was approved for that purpose, so theoretically their system should have been updated. 2) I made it very clear that I fell into the MSM (men who have sex with men) category -- but I did not specifically talk about escorts. 3) Since it was inquiring about benefits, there was no appeals process. 4) Forgive my reluctance to answer this one, but the arrangements of my health insurance can start to get into "personally identifiable information." Suffice it to say that it is insurance through a public employee's system (as in someone who works for the state, county, or municipal government, school/university system, police/fire department, etc.).
  5. I appreciate the thought, but my income is too high to generally qualify for discount cards and such....and since that pharmaceutical company doesn't spell out what their eligibility criteria is, I'm a little reluctant to share my personal and financial information with them (since it wouldn't be covered by HIPPA, if I'm not mistaken, or any other privacy law that I'm familiar with).
  6. There are various places that will occasionally do "live shows" with porn stars and such....but "audience participation" is not usually part of the act. *smirk*
  7. More would take it if more insurance policies covered it, I'm sure. That's why I don't take it....I can't afford the $25,000/year that it costs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hurting for money, but that's almost twice what my mortgage payment is. My insurance company in California does not consider such preventative treatments to be "necessary medical treatment." And so, as with many medical treatments in the US, it comes down to paying for the pills or paying for the necessities of life.
  8. How to you wake Lady Gaga? Poke her face. ---ba-dum-dum---
  9. A "fruit fly" is similar to a "fag hag"....she hangs around "fruits" (usually hairdressers/aetheticians, in the contexts I've heard). A "passion fruit" is a hyper-masculine, "str8-acting" gay person.
  10. There are a significant number people who don't know what "Stonewall" is, much less phrases like "fruit fly," "chicken hawk," or "passion fruit." Gayness is so much more in the open that they don't necessarily learn about the history and culture.
  11. Two Irishmen walk out of a bar. It could happen. ---ba-dum-dum---
  12. Have sex in the shower instead.
  13. Or maybe the police could just not taser/shoot someone who is not presenting any danger to anyone.
  14. She would have been immediately shot if she reached for anything...wallet, piece of paper, etc.

    Pit Bulls

Again, that falls more onto "dog owners" rather than the breed being inherently aggressive or prone to violence. (You might remember Dobermans being the "scary dog" of the 80s, but they are -- on the whole -- very even tempered.) Pit bulls are the breed most commonly trained for dog fighting, for example. (Just ask Michael Vick). If they are trained to be fighting dogs, is it a wonder that they would attack? Add to that an extraordinarily muscular and strong body, and it's a mix for fatalities. But, again, it's not the fault of the breed but rather the way the dogs are trained.

    Pit Bulls

Both are false, but I can see where that comes from. Pit bulls are very powerful animals with very strong jaws. The look intimidating, even when they're proverbial pussy cats. (My cocker spaniel has put pit bulls in their place before.) When they bite, if you pull, they may take it as "tug of war" no matter how much you're yelling and not let go. Pit bulls and German Shepherds can both be fantastic animals. German Shepherds are exceedingly bright dogs with a strong protective streak. (They were bred to be herding dogs, after all.) However there are a lot of bad owners of dogs that don't learn how to be good pet owners. Some dogs need more training on what is acceptable.
  17. Maybe, but let us not forget that there are a lot of stupid people in the world...and not everyone is computer savvy enough to run a "reverse photo search." When in doubt, leave him out.
  18. They may already be doing so..... BUT they are scheduled to have an IPO next year, if I remember right. That will bring in more cash for them to blow through. And then they can say "look at all the investors who will get hurt if you don't bail us out...." Not that I'm cynical.
  19. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zQ1uU20gkjg/UWrsrFvOvBI/AAAAAAACAdI/LCDFvuhi7qg/s1600/mike_henson_crop.jpg He still makes me moist, even though he died nearly 16 years ago.
  20. +10000000000000 re Mike Hanson. A long-time favorite.
  21. Unless you get a government bailout a la the auto companies in the recent past, the financial companies, the airline companies....and all those are within recent memory. Not that I'm cynical or anything....
  22. I don't have that, but there are a couple of possibilities. The first thing I would consider, though, is changing your password on your account. There might be someone else logging in to it from a different location, and that's changing your setting. Also, double-check your "location" settings (assuming those are manually entered instead of automatically detected).
  23. Hopefully, guys won't flake in the future (assuming you weren't being catfishes). Maybe something here can be helpful to prepare for the future? https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-record-your-computer-screen/ https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/22878/windows-10-record-steps There are steps for Windows 7 included in the 2nd link. (I wouldn't recommend doing the "send to the person helping you" step in the 2nd link, though.)
  24. Hopefully, the Grammys will replay this when they remember her...it's what she did 20 years ago that I mentioned above. It still gives me chills. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tsYKhGu--U
