  1. There are transportation services that might be available to you as someone who is disabled to help you get to the doctor, etc. Many metro areas have regional services, often publicly funded or non-profit. Relying on an ambulance and ER to get a routine prescription for antibiotics is a bit of overkill. If you are unable to get to a taxi on the street, though, you might want to consider looking into some in-home assistance or nursing where someone comes and helps you out. Most legit services will take insurance/Medicare/Medicaid, as appropriate.
  2. "Blade tenderized?" That sounds more like cube steak than skirt stake....(chuckle).
  3. I bought shoes from a drug dealer. I don't know what he laced them with, but I've been tripping all day. --ba-bum-bum--
  4. I learned long ago that the easiest way to eat good food is to learn how to make it. Even if you only can make a couple of things well, you can still impress the pants off of most people. (Literally and figuratively.)
  5. Oh, I can take criticism....sometimes I'll just take note of it and disregard, though. Unnecessary name calling is unseemly and rude, imho. I get that this is the age of Trump and all, but a LITTLE decorum is appreciated. I get that people don't always get along, carry grudges, and might not like each other....but can't we agree that food is yummy?
  6. I've seen those but never tried them. Hope they were yummy.
  7. Whatever his reason, I found it rather unwelcome given the tone of the thread. But even though the thread is about food, I'll refrain from feeding the trolls. (Still in a foodgasm from the brisket......)
  8. I prefer to have sex for hours at a time, not minutes. A quickie can be fun, though.
  9. Marinating doesn't really do anything for tenderizing, generally. For a marinade to actually tenderize, it would have to be so acidic that it would dissolve the connective tissues....and the meat. Skirt steak can be a little tricky sometimes because of the grain of the meat and whether it's "inside" or "outside" skirt. One is tougher than the other, which might be why you had better luck with them in the past. There's a sneaky trick you can do when cutting the meat, though, depending on what you're doing with it.... ...cut it thinly against the grain. You might have to cut it into a couple of pieces and then slice it. Doing so makes sure there aren't any long muscle fibers or big pieces of connective tissue in any bite. To your original question regarding sous vide...I don't know that I would do that with something like skirt steak unless you're going to sear it afterward. I've not tried it myself, fur 134 (medium-rare) is an awful low temperature if you're trying to tenderize meat.
  10. Keep your ad hominem to yourself, please. This thread is about food.
  11. I've a gluten-free IPA or a Jalapeño Saison (Belgain-style ale).
  12. I've got several good reds from the Livermore valley....but also some homemade beer.....which to choose, which to choose....
  13. It might be worth investing in a little hot plate if the stove is difficult for you to use because of difficulty getting around. Even a one-burner hotplate will let you sear your steak or burgers while you cook some frozen veggies in the microwave.
  14. If possible.... Salt it now, even if it's still frozen. To cook it, put it in a hot pan on the stove top for 3-4 minutes a side (depending on how thick the steak is) for medium rare to medium. Much tastier and more reliable than microwave cooking.
  15. Brisket (smoked 10-12 hours....started it early today) Corn on the cob (grilled after the brisket is taken off) Homemade biscuits Homemade kosher dill pickles And 2 desserts: Homemade creme de menthe chocolate chip ice cream Flourless almond cake Anyone else cooking up a storm today?
  16. How is the Higgs boson like a Catholic priest? You can't have mass without one.
  17. I'm more surprised that someone thought he was a worthwhile subject for a book than his portrayal as an ass-half. (It takes two ass-halfs to make an ass-whole.)
  18. There are a lot of similar ideas all over the place. Gated communities with playgrounds, pools, etc. that are accessible only to residents....and paid for out of HOA fees. It's the same general idea, just on a smaller scale.
  19. I also fiddle with knobs.....hehehehehe I'd be happy to tell more of my story....but there's no need to hijack this thread to do so.
  20. Given his treatment (including borderline harassment) and distain for "gay models" in his movies, it would surprise me mightily if he did.
  21. I've gotten calls from relatives in jail (notably my brother)...wanting some strings to be pulled and gears greased. I didn't. Never heard from a hire in trouble, though. And I'd turn him down if I did...assuming I even acknowledged the request. When I was an escort, I'd never have contacted a client if I got in trouble. I'd never put them on the spot or open them up for investigation on a pandering/solicitation charge. I wouldn't seriously consider it. Calls are monitored and letters are opened and read.
  22. As opposed to speaking Latin and worshiping Jupiter like we do now? Oh, wait.....

    New iPhones

In the current version of the iPhone software (11.4.1), you can turn off touch ID specifically to unlock your phone but leave it on for apple pay and/or the iTunes store. Go to Settings>touch ID & passcode. I believe you can also "forget" the fingerprint from there.

I don't know that I was trying to solve any problem....I was just offering a bit of relevant information once face id/touch id was raised. The police in the US are not famed for respecting the rights of the individual. Having one officer hold your head (including using choke-holds) while another raises your phone to it is not unheard of. Nor is it uncommon for a policeman to force open your fingers while your are handcuffed behind your back in order to try to activate a "touch ID." Since escorting -- and hiring escorts -- is illegal in most US states (and flying or otherwise transporting people across state lines for so-called"immoral purposes" violates federal law -- bring in the FBI!), it never hurts to be aware what one's legal rights are....what what things you would think would be included in civil rights that are not.
