Smokey reacted to Brak in Those who go all the way with masseurs, why not just escorts instead?
Responding to the original question, there are a few reasons I tend to hire masseurs rather than escorts. I have a lot of anxiety around social interactions, and a massage is a nice way for me to ease into the situation, knowing what's going to happen, without having to deal with a lot of small talk and awkwardness. In addition to the massage itself being very relaxing, a good erotic masseur can naturally up the sensuality of the experience as it goes along and transition it into sex, which I really enjoy and appreciate. The anticipation of when that's going to happen, when he removes his clothes, where he touches me, when he invites me to touch him, all of that is very enjoyable to me. It can be pretty anticlimactic and disappointing to me when I hire a "masseur" and the "massage" lasts 10 min before he shoves his dick in my face.

The most surprising thing that could happen during a massage is actually getting a great massage 😂

Smokey reacted to Jamie21 in Getting naked in gym’s lockers?!
I always walk around naked in the locker room. It’s just more convenient than trying to keep a towel around my waist.
Also I admit I like to annoy the muscle guys who show off how much they can lift in the gym. They’re surprisingly reluctant to be naked near me in the locker room if indeed they even drop their pants 😂

A good series of mysteries featuring a gay insurance investigator; complex characters and a great sense of place - Southern California in the 70’s and 80’s. This is the first of twelve:

I'm not opposed to switching/updating language.
I am opposed to folks applying crazy outrage to using an outdated term with NO ill intent or malice. Assume ignorance, gentle correction and move on.

This reminds me of old-school theatre friends who still say 'gypsy robe ceremony' or 'gypsy' (in regards to an actor who's touring or going from show to show).
Someone recently said it in mixed company (younger/older) and you could have cut the politically-correct tension with a knife.
Like a good Catholic, I quickly changed the subject matter to the weather.

Smokey reacted to london1961 in Hottest Massage Video Ever?
Has anyone noticed that in these massage videos, the masseur always drips what appears to be baby oil on the client directly from the bottle? A legit masseur will warm the lotion (not baby oil) up in his hands first and then apply it to the client. I suppose the dripping baby oil is supposed to be erotic, but it just seems cheesy to me.

I was sure this thread was going to be about @Stormy's weird obsession with dead inventors (or the singers of one-hit-wonder Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes).

Not the hottest (unless you are into feet) but certainly one of the oddest massage videos out there. And an apartment so unique that it would supply the folks at Lurid Digs with enough material for a week of snarky tweets.

Ha ha I’ve done a few massages for clients in apartments as strange as that. One was decorated like an oriental brothel. This was in Chiswick.

Smokey reacted to Mhs in 10 Recipes to Make After Apple Picking
One of my seasonal faves is baked apples with prunes, which is a very old-fashioned, French grandmotherly kind of dessert. Cut the top inch off apples and core. Fill the inside of each with brown sugar, a bit of cinnamon, and a couple pitted prunes. Drizzle generously with brandy (calvados is great, if you have any lying around), top each with a cube of butter, and bake in a moderate oven until apples are soft, basting with the liquid that collects in the dish.

The Cloisters has part of the Met’s collection of Medieval art displayed in a building that simulates (and in some cases actually uses) the architecture of the time. Evocative atmosphere, nice garden elements, and great views of the Hudson and Palisades.

Should probably be at the head of the list of most over-looked (by NYers and tourists both) most exquisite cultural treasures in NYC.

The Frick is an amazing place. Closed for a complete renovation of the house (new HVAC, opening part of the second floor). Currently, the collection is on display on Madison Avenue in the old Whitney. Interesting because you can see the collection in a different way than when it was in the house.
