Well, that’s why I’ve created FLAKES OF RENTMEN on twitter to put review and warning to these kind of characters. Personally, Rentmen has always been a very flaky site compared to all the predecessors. It’s just become more known and popular. Now, it’s become more popular than ever, and now is the time to be more vigilant than ever.

Rentmen requires at least five characters in an email reply. Annoying, because what I really mean to say is "No". Every single character after those two distract from the nuance of my reply. I hate to obfuscate my message just for some arbitrary character requirement.

I've never been to K-Town. But be very careful at Premier 57. The attendants walk by the steam room and sauna periodically, and you basically have no warning. I've seen guys kicked out of the spa because they were caught hooking up.

Super Men's is by far the nicest spa I've been to in NYC so far (better than Babylon, Hero, and Utopia). I had Dimo and left happy. Also nice that they have showers in the rooms.

Great thread. I feel like old guys are one of the world's best kept secrets. They're sort of like that exotic tourist destination that only the most sophisticated, in-the-know people know about. I don't want the word to get out about what fabulous partners they can be. I feel really fortunate to be attracted to men my own age.

I've been to a matinee. (I actually attended in the company of a gent who suggested it as an alternative to a hotel. I found the mandatory clothes-check a bit intimidating, but because I already had a play partner I was easily distracted from my own self-consciousness.) From what I recall, the crowd was diverse in terms of age, ethnicity and bodytype -- though I don't remember too many guys in their 20s. Most were 35+, most were at least pleasant to look at (and a few were genuinely hot). Lots of standing and cruising but a number of guys getting busy, with lots of opportunities to look and folks were definitely not shy about expressing their interest in joining the fun with my (very hot) companion.
 
I was actually pretty impressed by how the space was run -- not a huge venue, but not cramped either, with clearly communicated "rules"...

Been trying Doublelist. I placed ads and got dozens of responses mich more than I got on CL. However they don’t tend to follow through. Did meet and go out with several nice guys so I guess it’s worth the effort.
They also added categories straight for gay and gay for straight.

I’ve attended several times and met a hot fuck buddy. That said it tends to be hot and miss. What I don’t get are guys naked with dozens of others who then act stand offish. If you’re there you’re there to play.

I decided not to go through with it. There was something off about my phone conversation with him. When asked about topping, his reply was that he had mostly topped women and that he would need some porn to top men. Why would I hire someone to top me if I knew he would have a hard time doing it?
 
I mentioned this to him as the reason I decided not to meet him. He said I misunderstood what he said. Whether I did misunderstand him or not, it didn’t matter to me at that point. I had already come to the conclusion that it would not work between him and me.

Try bidding on priceline for 2/3 star hotel and see if you get lucky.

Check out dayuse.com or hoteltonight.com. Dayuse is a great option – you just go on, and it will tell you what hotels have rooms and for how long – typically it’s from 3 to 6 hours somewhere in the afternoon for a reasonable rate. If you’re feeling really low budget and/or sleazy, there is always the Senton - 3 hours for 70 bucks (cash only) and zero frills – I don’t think they even know what a frill is there. It does the trick, especially if you’re looking for a really sleazy time.
