Well, that’s why I’ve created FLAKES OF RENTMEN on twitter to put review and warning to these kind of characters. Personally, Rentmen has always been a very flaky site compared to all the predecessors. It’s just become more known and popular. Now, it’s become more popular than ever, and now is the time to be more vigilant than ever.

Since www.backpage.com has folded in terms of masseurs and escorts-- I think one of the only outlets left is www.rentmen.com. ...would like to get with one or all but am a tad bit skeptical in their appearing almost simultaneously. I do not desire to fork out my limited funds only to be burned.

That's what I keep forgetting. They sprayed raid on Craigslist and backpage, but that didn't kill the roaches, they just crawled over to other sites. Ever since that's happened, business has increased overall, but it's gotten worse because all these f-ing bugs are bugging.

 

Just straight up all across the board in every city I've gone to lately, just stupid MoFoes getting on my nerves.

 

1. they message me early in the morning trying to interrupt my sleep

2. They take up to much time with their bullshit messages

3. Then they flake and and don't fucking follow thru with shit when it's time

 

It's like all the flakes from Craigslist are moving to other sites. I've just gone ahead and put note in my ad. I'm not sweet talking or freak talking or anything. I'm making it very plain and clear...because they can find my number so easily, but can't be bothered to read travel dates or call in advance.

 

I'd advise others to follow that link, because the level of insanity is going to get worse if we don't hold MoFoes accountable for their bullshit. There's really no network out there right now to caution escorts about taking appointments with certain callers.

 

That's the feeling I get from escorts, now the 30 min. seekers, the "I'm looking for a massage how big's your cock?", are crawling into RentMen and other sites that were mostly free of bottom feeders.

Definitely have noticed an uptick in odd and outright illegal requests on MF and M4M post the legal changes. My policy, informed by decades of experience, is to not respond to text shortcuts or inquiries that would put me in jeopardy. The photos are there and recent, the reviews are there, my real name is there I am not going to give a play by play to someone whom I have never met and who, for all I know, is on a burner phone. It’s just not worth it.

20 years back clients had a few lines in an LGBT weekly or a weekly alternative paper from which to judge your services by now they have virtually everything and still want more.

Something has definitely changed with the shut down of Craigslist/Backpage as a result of FOSTA. And with RentMen the only real option left, it's attracting a group of clients we didn't encounter previously.

So, what comes next?

I've noticed a few higher end escorts using rent messure to advertise and get clients - even though we all know they know nothing about being a messure. But, it still allows for them to use Twitter (no longer an option on RentMen) to market themselves. IDK what's next, but gay men have a long history of find ways around ill planned rules and regulations imposed on us. Someone will figure out a solution.

Most of the issue depends upon RM itself and/or the other platforms, since I don't see providers nor clients coordinating on anything on a large scale.

 

Besides, I'd like to ask to the other providers: do you see RM and the other professional sites being flooded with cheap/newcomers/etc providers as well as clients?

Does RM US offer to providers 1-month (and beyond...) free subscription, like the EU does?

 

After all, I don't foresee major changes: Grindr and others are still out there, and even timewasters don't want to waste their time with providers asking for too much, right? You'll have a few of them "learn", few others have more patience, but most will stick to other habitats.
