One of the wonderful things about a police state/surveillance state like China is we do have detailed statistics just now being compiled. Whether a free society can take the measures they did to stop the pandemic is the question. And it's hard to verify their "facts".
South China Post from Hong Kong has several articles staring at this link that don't sound good. Merkel may be right in that 70% prediction.

Of course no wonder with the safety instructions they're putting out:
I was speaking of air travel. And it's the panic. We'll see what happens when NYC or LA suddenly hits thousands of cases and hundreds of dead. Around Milan is in that now. Total shutdown.
I've been watching this one from Hopkins. Not sure why it doesn't link through your cite. It is the best, most current.

I just returned from Amsterdam 1 week ago and all was semi-ordinary. I have two friends coming from Prague Thursday and I worry that the flight may cancel. That's how fast the thing has overtaken Europe. Italy was a sudden disaster and now France and Germany are collapsing.
No way, no how, any cruise is leaving 3/23.
I'm more concerned that even US-Europe flights will be canceled. I have friends coming to the US in 6 days for 2 months and I return with them to Europe May 11.
I hope.
I'm seeing several people thinking that as the CV gets worse in the US, many countries, especially in Europe, will suspend air travel from the US. Lufthansa is already thinking of parking all it's 380's:

I'm wondering how the State of Emergency declared in LA County today is affecting hiring there. While Seattle is an unreliable market, LA is a good example of an otherwise busy market.
