1. and yet again today, Republicans are moving quickly to the left of Democrats (Biden gets a lot of funding from certain Big Pharmas that don't want foreign drugs in (as do the Clintons and Obama):
2. also....the Chinese and Cubans (sorry, socialist medicine again), have it under control. Will Cuban doctors or drugs be barred not to offend any Florida Cubans?
3. Hello US airports CBP stations. This is how you treat a new super-contagious pandemic there are no easy tests for. Not by herding thousands into a hall for 6 hours. Although I saw where someone came from London to LA yesterday and was through in 20 minutes with zero health checks. Russia has only a few dozen active case, and sorry Democratic Party fuckwads if that's "praising socialism":
4. Whole state of Florida closing down. No groups of over 10 on beaches, restaurants 50% capacity. https://www.fox13news.com/news/florida-closing-bars-nightclubs-for-30-days-issues-sweeping-changes-for-restaurants-beaches? Florida closing bars, nightclubs for 30 days; issues sweeping changes for restaurants, beaches

6. Population density, the holy grail of the Smart Growth crowd, has a lot to do with a pandemic's spread. High rises with common doors and elevators and subways and buses and crowded sidewalks make a pandemic 100x worse. The US will do better in our sparsely-populated areas and suburbs and with people who drive cars. It may not even hit most people there. It's weird that we are now in semi-shutdown in dense population centers. My desire would be to get out of a dense center to a rural area for the duration of a pandemic.
7. "Roald Ekberg" has a twin brother who has brown hair and eyes. (Not identical). I sent you a photo.
8. Some places are screening with thermal-image cameras !
9. I imported Bel Ami twins for the self-quarantine duration. Can only do so much binge-watching.
10. Why the resistance to bidet toilet seats? The nice ones are $200 and Home Depot has one self-install unheated for $59. Otherwise isn't that what the handheld in the shower is for? Shouldn't a "leader" address this important issue?
11. What did he come out as? Having had sex with a woman? That must have been a shock. Are "coming outs" becoming ceremonies? Photog uses tacky IKEA print as background? (I have it in my basement).
12. Most bars in DC were packed full last night with long lines to get in. The restaurants were also packed. And CBP held thousands in the immigration hall at Dulles for 6 hours, mostly Americans rushing back in. Ridiculous.
13. How things changed fast since this thread started with Mexico closing the border to US citizens.
14. Just drove down U St in DC and every club and restaurant is packed full with long lines outside to get in. Thousands packed like sardines. I thought there was a ban on large group events in DC.
15. Spray for clothes is important and Lysol spray is usually out. But I prefer Odo-Ban spray. It's clear and comes in Eucalyptus, Lavender or Lemon scent. Best of all it's been in stock in all my Home Depots by the 100's of $9 gallon bottles. Same 99% effectiveness as Lysol. For years I've used the Eucalyptus scent in smaller spray bottles to spray my shoes inside and then progressed to clothing and household interior. It's being price gouged online but Home Depot usually has enough in stock for everyone in stores. https://www.homedepot.com/b/OdoBan/N-5yc1vZ4iu I spray my clothes with the eucalyptus scent and get a lot of compliments on my fresh smell. Can't do that with Pine Sol. (At least not with the type guys you'd want to hook up with.)
16. The panic is going to be that when the good tests roll out quickly the number of cases in the US is going to soar overnight.
17. Johns Hopkins MD warns that is only tested cases: https://finance.yahoo.com/video/dr-marty-makary-coronavirus-think-145547356.html
18. Johns Hopkins University Professor of Public Health Dr. Marty Makary says actual cases in US could be between 50,000 and 500,000. # we see is only those tested positive and few tested. Italy is most "transparent" as what is reality. https://finance.yahoo.com/video/dr-marty-makary-coronavirus-think-145547356.html
19. Schengen countries are supposed to stamp your passport when you leave Schengen but I doubt US Border Control is going to spend time searching passports for stamps that often aren't stamped. If so things will slow down a lot. I bet they will just assume Schengen passport holders have been there within 14 days absent proof otherwise.
20. As @mike carey says, it goes by whether you have been in a 26 country within 14 days. However, I don't think the UK is checking or stamping people coming from the 26 so I'm not sure how the US will know unless its a connecting flight from one of those countries. I have Czech friends coming today to beat the deadline. I was going to return with them in 2 months but all that is t.b.d. now.
21. Bidet toilet seats. Cheaper in the long run, much nicer, and you never go back. I noticed at Trader Joes twice this week all pasta and sauces were gone. Other places Ramen noodles supposed to go fast.
22. What about the 14% who require hospitalization but for whom no hospital beds can possibly be found? I assume their mortality rate is very high. One way to energize the population in Germany or the US would be to build/convert temporary hospitals now. Also, it's significant that there are virtually no community cases in Africa outside Egypt, Russia, Ukraine, South America, etc. In all of Mexico with 135 million people there are exactly 3 active cases. In 2009 Mexico was hit hard by the Swine Flu. Tourism and business relations may matter but warm weather may also with Coronavirus.
23. Do you think it's that more dangerous? I just returned through Amsterdam a week ago and have Czech twins coming through London tomorrow to DC for two months. You come in contact with more people in grocery stores and on the sidewalk than in airports now, not to mention nightclubs and movies or shows. Airports are sort of empty and sanitized very often. Mask, hand sanitizer, alcohol spray are my friends. OTOH....Merkel is a research scientist and she announced after much study:
24. I was thinking of the Chinese study in the link where they have surveillance cameras in buses and have facial recognition of every resident. They tracked an infected man and everyone on his bus ride and summized which people in which seats he infected.
