What about the 14% who require hospitalization but for whom no hospital beds can possibly be found? I assume their mortality rate is very high. One way to energize the population in Germany or the US would be to build/convert temporary hospitals now. Also, it's significant that there are virtually no community cases in Africa outside Egypt, Russia, Ukraine, South America, etc. In all of Mexico with 135 million people there are exactly 3 active cases. In 2009 Mexico was hit hard by the Swine Flu. Tourism and business relations may matter but warm weather may also with Coronavirus.

Do you think it's that more dangerous? I just returned through Amsterdam a week ago and have Czech twins coming through London tomorrow to DC for two months. You come in contact with more people in grocery stores and on the sidewalk than in airports now, not to mention nightclubs and movies or shows. Airports are sort of empty and sanitized very often. Mask, hand sanitizer, alcohol spray are my friends. I was thinking of the Chinese study in the link where they have surveillance cameras in buses and have facial recognition of every resident. They tracked an infected man and everyone on his bus ride and summized which people in which seats he infected.

One of the wonderful things about a police state/surveillance state like China is we do have detailed statistics just now being compiled. Whether a free society can take the measures they did to stop the pandemic is the question. And it's hard to verify their "facts".

No way, no how, any cruise is leaving 3/23. I'm more concerned that even US-Europe flights will be canceled. I have friends coming to the US in 6 days for 2 months and I return with them to Europe May 11. I hope.
