I've found that my grocery shopping has changed. I used to make a list and then go to the store and buy exactly that. Down to the brands I customarily buy.
Now prices are, of course, way up, but my local has specials all over the place, sometimes it seems like there are more yellow sale signs that regular ones. I find myself coming with a short list of "must haves" that I pick up and then I browse the aisles looking for good deals and there are a lot. Sometimes 2 for 1, sometimes the regular price has gone up but a special brings the price below what the old one was. I check out the "dump bin", and find some amazing things, Progresso soup for $.39 (not all kinds, but I'll eat almost any soup). Sometimes name brands that are normally prices at 2x with store brand will be on sale for less that the store brand. Meat that is perfectly fine in a special bin for a great price. A pound of hamburger might he high prices, but the same weight in formed patties might be in the special bin for a fraction of the price. They place veggies that you need to use like that day in the same spot as normal ones, but with reduction stickers. All over the place, but by hunting around I'm not sure my bills are much higher than in the past.

I'm not big on fast food, but in a pinch, like when driving on the interstate and I'm limited to off-ramp fare my go to is the Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich with fries.
I don't make many stands, but I don't care how good it in Chick-fil-a will never get a penny of my money. Every little bit helps the cause.
    McDonald's just sucks.
I've never found a decent fast food sub. Either there aren't any fillings to speak of, or the bread can be very bad. Jimmy John's stores have a funny smell.

This is much on my mind recently. I'm way closer to retirement that it seems possible - time flies! We will have two good pensions and more money stashed away for retirement, Insurance will continue although at a somewhat higher rate. House is getting close to being paid off but there will be a residue left on the mortgage, small enough that we could dip into savings and pay it off.
We have nice buy not extravagant city living.
The one thing we really plan to do is to get anything medical related that we know of done - eye care, dental, etc.
But, still we worry about running out of money. The latest stock downturn is worrisome. We don't want to stop traveling since that's what retirement is all about!

I've never been formally diagnosed, but what I experience are the classic symptoms - searing pain in the middle of my heel, very difficult to walk. What has worked for me is:
as often as you can, with legs straight point your toes toward your nose and pull until it begins to hurt, repeat several times.
change up your shoes, I haven't found it especially matters how, but grab a different pair out of the closet. Switch them out frequently.
I do this when I begin to think "I feel at attack coming on" and I can usually stave it off this way.

One thing that seems to bring it on for me is wearing the same shoes too often. Rotating shoes really helps me. I find orthotics worthless - sort of like 20th century quackery. Just stretching the "toes to the nose" while watching TV or whatever really helps me, but it isn't an instant fix.

I travel to SF frequently, and am really sad at how far down it has gone. I don't feel especially unsafe, but it just isn't a nice place to be. Formerly I'd extend my business trip by a few days if I could. Now I get in and out at quickly as I can. Really too bad.

I've been told that many cars will adjust to the type of gas your using. If a car call fro premium and gets regular it was downgrade performance accordingly. The car will run just fine, but you'll lose the performance you paid for when you bought the car.
