Good luck finding a cheap hotel room in midtown NYC!
Pro tip: if there is powdered sugar or frosting on the dude's shirt - he is probably an undercover cop!

Take a look at this from Gothamist.
Careful when cruising in public spaces - they point to Sniffies specifically.
"Nearly 200 people were arrested or detained since the start of June for alleged public lewdness or indecent exposure in the station’s men’s bathroom near its entrance at Eighth Avenue and 31st Street, Amtrak Deputy Police Chief Martin Conway confirmed to Gothamist. NYPD data shows only 12 people were arrested for public lewdness in and around Penn Station during the first five months of the year. But the data from Amtrak shows arrests for the violation skyrocketed since then.
The bathroom is a hot spot on “cruising” apps like Sniffies, which men use to arrange public sexual encounters.
The Amtrak Police Department has deployed undercover cops into the bathroom to catch people seeking illicit meetups, according to a police officer who took part in the crackdown and asked not to be named because he was not authorized to talk about the operation."

I don't think it is racist. I do think it is actually used in a way that reflects xenophobia. A difference, certainly. But still says a lot about "some people" who use the term "latin" in a derogatory fashion. That was your intent, was it not? 🤔

If you missed John Oliver's show last night on HBO - take the time to watch it. Historical context is interesting.

The bottom line speaks. Consumers (like me!) cancelled their subscriptions, unions stepped up and industry insiders were vocal about not working with Disney/ABC. Disney share price started to drop and analysts became concerned about revenue and growth. Capitalism, yeah baby!

The Sinclair Broadcast Group announced Monday that it will not air Jimmy Kimmel's late-night return Tuesday night across its dozens of ABC affiliates until "formal discussions" are held with the network regarding "professionalism and accountability."
Further, Sinclair is calling on Kimmel to apologize to the family of Charlie Kirk.
Sinclair issued a statement hours after ABC parent company Disney announced "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" would return from hiatus Tuesday night. Disney yanked his show last week over comments regarding Charlie Kirk's assassination.
"Sinclair will not lift the suspension of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' on our stations until formal discussions are held with ABC regarding the network's commitment to professionalism and accountability,'
"Sinclair also calls on upon Mr. Kimmel to issue a direct apology to the Kirk family. Furthermore, we ask Mr. Kimmel to make a meaningful personal donation to the Kirk family and Turning Point USA.
"Regardless of ABC's plans for the future of the program, Sinclair intends not to return 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' to our air until we are confident that appropriate steps have been taken to uphold the standards expected of a national broadcast platform."
Sinclair owns 38 ABC affiliates. That's 20% of ABC stations. Kimmel's ratings were already in the toilet. Without Sinclair, it will soon be economically unfeasible for ABC to continue to carry his program. And if Nexstar also decides not to air the Kimmel Show, that will be the nail in the proverbial coffin. Meanwhile, Kimmel will be on a very, very short leash.
Thank you Sinclair for your commitment to professionalism, accountability and upholding moral standards..

I'm curious to see how many stations, if any, choose not to air his show on Tuesday.

After significant public pressure, Disney has allowed Jimmy Kimmel back on air. In a new statement, Disney writes: “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday."
Wait, I thought the show was suspended because of poor ratings?!

Bias is an interesting thing. Funny how it creeps up on you and you don't realize it even when it is glaringly obvious to others. We should all guard against it.
