When I contacted him we conversed for a bit and he asked about what I looked like because he wanted to make sure he’d recognize the correct person who’d show up at his door. Once I described myself he simply said I’d have a better time with someone else. it wasn’t rude, but it did not make me feel good. I blamed myself for reaching out to him, for not knowing my place and asking for the impossible. This was before I started researching about providers and it turned out that his preference was quite well known.
 
This has happened to me more than a few times with different providers.
Some providers do so well that they don’t welcome all types of clients and although it does pose a question about professionalism as @Jamie21 eloquently said, I respect their discretion. I just hope that they are honest and straightforward about it upfront in their ad so nobody has to waste their time. I understand that having stuff like that on an ad is bad for business, but if they’re going to have a preference they need to accept the caveats. 
 
Personally, if I were confident about my appearance and did not mind rejection after communicating with someone, I would have stayed on hookup apps and not considered hiring someone to make me feel special.

If an escort wants to eliminate certain clients based on looks, I much prefer it when his ad is clear that he does that.  He can either be blunt (specifically excluding certain groups of people) or give a strong hint ("prefer to work on clients who are height/weight proportionate" or something like that).  What I don't appreciate is a guy not having any indication in the text of his ad that he is going to screen based on looks who then does so after I've contacted him.  As others have written, it might be foolish from a business perspective since it's going to limit the pool of clients, but I don't begrudge someone who gets as much business as he wants while still declining to see certain clients based on looks.  But the last thing a client wants after approaching an escort is to be rejected based on looks.  If we wanted that we would be on an app looking for free hookups or out at a bar or sex club or something.  It's much easier if you simply know in advance not to bother to contact someone since he clearly won't accept your business rather than be annoyed after the fact.

I think it’s very possible to perform a sexual act if you’re not attracted to the other party. I’m able to find attraction in the client I’m with even if they’re not the kind of client I’d normally be instantly attracted to. That’s the essence of doing sex work; the ability to make a connection with all sorts of different people and find what’s attractive about them.
My point is that if you’re a sex worker who likes to choose only clients you find attractive then you’re not really a sex worker, you’re just getting paid in your sex life. A true sex worker will accept all clients and make them all feel attractive and valued. I see clients who are disabled for example. I know some providers who refused to see them because they’re not attractive enough. That’s their choice of course but I’d say they’re not doing a great job. 

If I could attract exactly the type of guy that I’m attracted to, for more or less the kind of encounter I want, at more or less the exact day and time of my choosing, I wouldn’t need to hire an escort.

Well…..a perfect time for me to actually inject myself into this conversation! Like a bad family dinner that just changes moods INSTANTLY when you start talking about the black sheep in the family…! The COVID conversation is never going to be a fun one, on ANY side of the fence. 
A wiser escort once told me…never vent your true feelings about politics or any of their derivatives on this forum…because you’ll immediately ostracize half(or more) of the people who regularly post. In addition, he said the best posture was to assume that everyone here is better educated, and has more diverse life experiences then you. 
Well, he was absolutely correct on the latter- I find that the average person I’ve connected with from here is a standout, on virtually any rubric you use. On the former…he broke his own rule of wisdom and promptly got himself banned for clashing with the previous forum owner. 
So anyhow….now that we’ve got that little ‘aside’ about politics and it’s ugly stepchild Coronavirus out of the way(I’ll comment once on it by saying it forcibly changed my life…but probably for the better, in the long run), I’d like to just give a tremendous ‘Thank You’ to all of those who commented for me ‘in absentia’, by keeping my little memories alive and well. 
Physically- I feel I’m in great shape; having a more grounded life and the ability to control your meals makes for a huge difference. Negatively offsetting a lot of these physical ‘gains’, is clearly the fact that I’ve drank to a far larger amount during COVID, then prior. Coping mechanism. However, I’d like to think I have it under control; as I have to function 5-6 days a week as a well driller / installer; and then a night or two dancing. Factor in 1-3 clients if I’m able to accommodate….and it’s a life. Not a great life; but tons of potential for a future in the company(owned by one of my best friends, a fucking stud himself IMO). He’s nearly doubled his numbers since  I came onboard, while also lowering his advertising budget- because the repeat work from his past 7 years is snowballing with momentum. Each year will get progressively better, as long as we stay sharp. 
For those of you around the country who’ve wanted to see me…trust me…I want to see you too. I wish I could be traveling around like I used to; but those days are most likely behind me. I may detach out a two 3 or 4 day jaunts a month to the larger areas, like San Fran, LA, Chicago, Florida, Chicago, or DC. Or, if those of you out there are able to get to NYC or Boston, I can come down with little to no problem, if you can host. Alternatively, if you are able to take the train to Hartford or have a car, you’re welcome at my house….if you can contend with two 12 lb. balls of fluff. Brave that gauntlet, and I’ll gladly entertain you with tons of free time, and a meal…nobody leaves this house without eating…

Missed two chances to see him here in LA a few years ago and am still hoping we could still make it happen one day. 

I got both vaccine shots and came down with covid AND influenza A at the same time! Pretty darn sick but never hit my lungs. I would have been a gonner. With congestive heart failure there would have been no way my heart would have been strong enough. Did the vaccine help keep me alive?  A friend of mine had both grandparents die within 9 days of each other from covid... they were both double vaccinated. Not as fortunate an outcome as mine.
