The massage lasted a couple minutes, he doesn't seem trained. The extra mile lasted about 87 minutes. It was great!

hi @Jarrod_Uncut I'm not sure if I understood well ALL the details but I think both have some guilt:

    1) You for allowing the relationship to become personal. Better look for hookups outside of the business.
    2) Your ex-client for not understanding your work and for being cheap.

Since this relationship is not business anymore, from the moment you disclose that you will see clients he's feeling insulted. Perhaps it was unnecessary to say it? Next, you start discussing expenses. From that moment everything goes downwards no matter how you want to rationalize it because emotions are already in play.

    "Money is money,
but money is held by People,
    who have Emotions"

If you put yourself in his shoes, you could see how he could think: "Ok, he will see other people but why should I pay for additional expenses if I'm special and we've known each other for long?! I should at least have some sort of priority! He should charge expenses to others, not me!" Let's imagine you did that tour anyway, without him as a factor, wouldn't you pay your expenses out of pocket hoping that you'd compensate later with the clients you'd see during your time traveling? From the moment you disclosed you'll see clients, in his mind it will never make any sense that you ask HIM for money.

Next time you are in the same situation (hopefully not) you could just say: "Hey, sure, I would also like to see you. Since it's a long trip I would appreciate it if you could help me with expenses for gas and food, which would be $XXX, but if it's a problem I understand and I look forward to seeing you when you come back". And let him make his decision. No need to argue over money (that makes you look greedy) or talking about seeing clients because that is YOUR BUSINESS, and you made your relationship with him already "personal".

On Thursday, March 12, I left the office and arrived home. I was scheduled to take the next day off. But after a call at 9:00 that morning letting me know that our team was going to begin work from for the next week to 'test our abilities to all work remotely', I was opening my laptop and working from home to address some of the emerging concerns. Before the next week was over, our entire company was moving to work from home.

After about four weeks of the work from home requirement and working every day including weekends between March 9 and Easter, I realized that my frustration levels were rising. While I could get the job done, it was not as efficient and in many situations as effective as I was when the entire team was working form the office. We were all addressing various COVID issues needed for work in addition to many of our regular job functions, working extra hours, and would easily go a week without talking to my boss or any peers in my department whereas I was talking to most of them daily prior to us all being in quarantine. All communication was being completed via instant message or email, staff meetings were canceled and things were being deferred.

By mid-April, what we initially thought might be 30 days of working from home was clearly going to extend at least through September. So in early May I informed my boss that I would be retiring and my last day to work would be August 7. I was planning to work another two or three years before then.

I'm now on day four as a retiree and adjusting to a life without a daily schedule.

I got it (well, 50/50 chance I did). I am a nurse and work around Covid patients. I also have a couple doctor friends that got it for the same reason. I'd rather take my risk with the vaccine then not having anything other than a mask when having to be around people who are positive. I signed up for the Moderna study and had my first dose last Friday.

Absolutely yes. As a "previously" trained virologist, I think the paranoia of vaccine in this country has gone bananas. Even in this forum, which I believe represents a relatively more educated sector of the society, the hysterical fear of vaccine has reached beyond reason. Research has shown that most of the so called vaccine-induced illnesses are really not induced by vaccines at all, and vaccines by and large are exceedingly safe. The original poster asked if you would be willing to get vaccinated before the trials end. By clinical trial phase 3 or 4, the majority of safety studies have already been completed. So it should be reasonably safe to take such vaccination. Is it completely, 100% safe? Well, there is no such thing in life. You can sleep in your own bed and a giant sink hole could open up beneath your house and swallow you whole. The vaccine should be "safe enough."

I don’t have a desire to go to pride. From what I’ve heard, pride is like the school yard in middle school. No thank you. But I do have a desire to call out those shouting “Accept us!” and yet they don’t accept folks they’ve determined aren’t worthy of their acceptance because of something that’s a big part of who they are. Gay men respect three things: looks, money, and connections to power. If you’re going to be accepted, the trifecta is best. Looks will help a lot, money overcomes looks, and influence can get the money to buy the looks – for you and your sugar baby.
