We've learned not to question how one self-identifies.  One can choose to identify as German, English, black, Mexican, etc., just like one can identify as man, woman, other, etc.  Similarly, whose to question why one identifies as a masseur or a prostitute?
For whatever the reason, I hire a mix of both.  Sometimes I feel like a massage, sometimes I feel like a nut 🥜, and sometimes both. 😉

I've written the statement several times before on this forum that "some guys think masseurs are budget prostitutes." When I realized I didn't write out the whole statement and that it read like a big general blanket statement, time had passed I couldn't edit my comment.
Yes escorts don't necessarily have sex or have to have sex but I just assume nowadays it's a nicer way of saying prostitute or sex worker, since so many people, especially women, want to sugar coat it. If it's empowering then why use euphemisms? lol

Sorry that happened to you. Too many older men have a tough time admitting that they are past their prime and nobody wants them anymore. Because some people hiring are just hella cheap. They expect sex for the price of a erotic massage. 
But of course, there are also the ones that prefer hiring masseurs because of the fantasy factor.
