Ghetto originated as an Italian word to reference areas where Jews were forced to live in Rome and Venice.  The first "ghettos" in the United States areas in New York City where the Irish lived.  I find it a huge leep to think that @MeatHead was saying to avoid Pride because Jewish or Irish people will be present.  And I remember that @MeatHead is an immigrant himself and a person of color, so I also find it hard to believe he doesn't like NYC Pride nowadays because too many people who is near his shade of skin tone attend.  It is clear to me he meant he avoids Pride because "the behavior exhibited is less than becoming", although he may not be as well versed as the rest of us, being an  English as a second language learner himself.  I try to be empathetic and understand the context of his phraseology. 
To the topic of Pride, last year I visited New York City, Montreal, and Toronto during June/July.  I purposefully scheduled my trip to each city to arrive AFTER each city's Pride events to avoid the crowds at the gay hangouts.  It's not the  concentration of devious behavior that annoys me; I am annoyed by the large concentration of straight allies that want to join the party but then want to prohibit nudity because their children are present!
Pride is a victim of its own success.  Originating as a protest to say gay men are not going to tolerate the invasion of our safe spaces (Stonewall),  today's events are unrecognizable and lost on Generation Z.

I didn't comment on whether or not he was handsome. I said he doesn't do it for me. Tom Cruise is handsome but he does nothing for me. Many of the guys here want hairless muscle twunks, and they can have them. If you go back through my posts you'll I don't generally imply or infer, I just say what I think.

This was the Pride parade in Montreal about 25 years ago. I lived in the Gay Village then and the parade passed right by down the street where I lived. A friend and I went to the NewYork Pride parade in 2003 but it wasn’t as good as the Montreal event in those days. I will say the French boys are almost all white, which has been mentioned here as an issue in Chicago. But we weren’t conscious of that back then. 

I get hit by guys with his look all the time and I ghost them. Not my type. But damnnn... what a beautiful dick (and I don't even like dicks).

The "ghetto" behavior tends to be at night, when we return and it's primarily the Lesbians making the worst impression on the people who live here. 
Much of the most outrageous behavior coincides with screaming IN SPANISH. Thus my opinion that the "ghetto" behavior at Pride is heavily concentrated in the Lesbian Latina community.

The hood and ghetto can have any race of poor people with no class. It's the 21st century after all, even the hood is integrated.  I avoid Pride events because they are mostly overrun by straight women (aka well meaning but annoying heterosexuals).  But if I was in NYC for June, I would mostly go to the Townhouse bar.  It seems to be the type of upscale place to keep crowd and behavior under control, even during crowded pride events.  My second choice place would be Uncle Charlie's.  I would save my visits to the other NYC bars until July.

“Crowded with hood people” sounds like it’s just a euphemism for there were too many Black people present for your comfort level at what you expected to be an almost exclusively white gathering — which many Pride celebrations are.
