Why every gay man should visit Palm Springs at least once in his life
Epigonos replied to + Avalon's topic in The Lounge
I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say something like this but here goes again!!!!! I don't think anybody, in their right mind, would dispute the fact that Palm Springs in the summer is unbearably hot -- it is. It is also a fact that a huge numbers of people who have homes or condos in Palm Springs don't spend summers there. Palms Spring and some cities in Florida are WINTER get aways for people who live in snow country. It is a truism that I would NEVER visit or live in Palm Springs in the summer AND it is equally true that I would NEVER visit or live in Palm Beach in the summer. These types of places are winter havens they are NOT summer resorts. If one is looking for a summer escape there a dozens of beautiful mountain and seaside places to visit or sojourn. -
You might want to check out https://rentmen.eu/CaribbeanPower in Los Angeles. I'm getting together with him on Saturday, August 4th for dinner and some recreation time. He is an excellent communicator and comes off as a very nice guy. Hope this helps.

Why every gay man should visit Palm Springs at least once in his life

Hey lightdagger as much as I dislike Palm Springs I must say in all fairness - don't judge it by what its like this time of year. Many of the best shops and even some of the better restaurants are closed. Check it out again in December, January, February, March, April, and even the first part of May. -
Why every gay man should visit Palm Springs at least once in his life

I grew up in Southern California and I hate heat. I could care less whether it is dry heat or humid heat -- I hate HEAT. Since I associate heat with the desert I hate the desert. I also hate desert colors, I like blue and green NOT sand and beige. Until the last ten years or so I avoided Palm Springs like the plague. Then Steven Kesslar bought a home in the area and Oliver winters there. I now visit with some frequency and at certain times of the year it isn't totally awful. While certain towns and neighborhoods are loosing their gay ghetto aspect Palm Springs is totally different. It has never really been a gay ghetto. For years Palm Springs was a get away place for the Hollywood crowd. Much of that crowd is gay and the rest tends to be very gay accepting. As middle and higher income gays in the colder areas of the U.S. retire Palm Springs will prosper. Palm Springs has become a magnet for gay snow birds. It has numerous resort both gay and non-gay and a growing number of outstanding restaurants and bars. Some "foolish" individuals live there all year. It is also true the housing is very affordable. The winter weather allows for great tennis and golf. For the more adventurous there is excellent hiking in the immediate Palm Springs area as well as in Idyllwild. You might say that my attitude toward Palm Springs has matured to the point that I understand what some guys love about it but it still isn't my cup of tea. -
I started seeing Steven Kesslar in the fall of 2002 and am still seeing him. I haven't the slightest idea how many time we have gotten together but I know it's lots. Additionally there are four or five other escorts who I have seen a half a dozen times or more, again I don't keep count. I see a new guy now and then but I probably shouldn't because I invariably have a better time with my regulars.

At 35 I weighted 145 and was 6' tall. I was extremely limber and flexible I could and did do most of the above. By the time I was 37 I weighed 217 and was still 6' tall. I was highly muscle bound, much less limber and flexible and could NOT do most of the above. Life is a series of trade offs.

I realize that "supposedly" a lot of young guys today think it is amusing to flip off the camera. I'm simply too old to find such behavior amusing or even acceptable. It would be a cold day in hell when I ever considered hiring this guy.

Five alternative terms you can use instead of LGBT
Epigonos replied to + Avalon's topic in The Lounge
I have NEVER liked and still don't like being identified as queer. I equate queer as to being odd or strange and I do NOT consider myself odd or strange. My first choice would be gay. I equate gay as to being happy or joyful and I do consider myself as generally happy and joyful. My second choice would be fag. I like its in you face connotation. This is what I am and if you don't like it or have a problem with it fuck you!!! -

I taught Spanish for years and my students always complained that Spanish wasn't logical like English. I would then put up some of the following: To - Too - Two Read - Reed - Red - Read Fast asleep Dead tired Wide awake Etc., etc. After awhile they got it. As a second language English is a total bitch. In English grammar the exceptions are frequently more common than the rule.

Sanborns was founded in 1903 by brothers Walter and Frank Sanborn. An apostrophe is not used in the name because there is no possessive apostrophe in Spanish. They wanted to create a restaurant where North Americans could eat safely -- they succeeded. The chain is currently a part of the Grupo Carso conglomerate which is owned by Carlos Slims, one of the richest men in the world. If while in Tijuana, or any other Mexican city where there is a branch, you are looking for decent American coffee shop style food you will love Sanborns. Frankly I have never liked the chain as I don't travel to Mexico to eat in a place like Denny's. If you are looking for something more local Caesars would probably be a better choice.

Eating in Tijuana shouldn't be a problem. At one time Tijuana and San Diego shared the same water system and I assume they still do. The vast majority of the vegetables sold in Southern California supermarkets come directly from the fields of northern Baja California. I wouldn't think twice about eating at Caesars.

You are certainly correct E.T. I was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles (Western and Florence Avenues). I graduated from George Washington High School which while located in South Central is actually nearer Gardena than Compton. My aunt and uncle lived on 108th St. just east of San Pedro St. Their home was almost due north of Compton. Those neighborhoods where considerably different when I was a kid in the 1940's and 50's than what they are today. Beginning in the late 50's the ethnic population transitions from predominately Anglo to predominately African American. Beginning in the 90's the area started changing again and is currently predominately Hispanic yet most of the elected officials at the local, the state and the federal levels remain African American.
-
Compton and South Central are pretty much the same thing. The only difference is that Compton is an incorporated city while South Central is a part of Los Angeles. They abut each other and there really isn't a dividing line. In this era of political correctness we no longer speak of South Central Los Angeles because of the horrible image it has achieved over the years. We now speak of South Los Angeles.

Very appealing and he's even located in my part of the world, HOWEVER, he doesn't mention kissing as something he's into thus he is a definite NO GO for me.

I wouldn't be terrible fearful of visiting Tijuana during the day and early evening. I would, probably, stick to the central part of town along Constitution. Caesar's Restaurant has been there forever and claims to be the place where the Caesar Salad was invented. The salad has traditionally been excellent and the rest of the food just fine. Tijuana was once the haunt of U.S. sailors stationed in or visiting San Diego and local college and university kids. Not anymore; the navy has declared Tijuana strictly OFF-LIMITS to naval personal, and local college and university students are also avoiding the city based on advise from their schools. What this means is that most of the shops, restaurants, and bars that attracted tourists are now gone. Frankly these days there isn't a lot in Tijuana to attract visitors. It never had much in the way of cultural attractions and it still doesn't. The major attraction today seems to be for older American crossing to seek medical treatment or to seek prescription drugs at lower prices.

I have always said and I continue to say that I'd rather move up on it rather than have to back away from it. I am many things but the one thing I'm definitely not is a size queen.

You know guys posting on this web site is not an exercise in academic expression. We are not writing doctoral dissertations. I write most of my posts quickly and although I try to use correct punctuation and correct spelling I can and do mess up. I am often appalled when I reread one of my post and find mistakes. Some mistakes, such as you instead of your, are not caught by spell check. In the end it isn't really all that important. Now as to what is and what isn't strange; that is rather a bizarre concept on a website dedicated to the discussion of escorts. Just about 99.9% of people would find all of us strange/weird. My attitude regarding this site is simply that it is a great place to enjoy but NOT to take too seriously.

In his youth he was wonderful eye candy. I had a real crush on him at the time. But, oh dear god, he was an awful actor. As actors I really don't know who was worse Hunter or Troy Donahue but damn there were pretty!

My entire adult life I have been an avid morning person. Monday through Friday I'm up at 4:30 a.m. and at the gym working out by 5. On the weekends I may sleep as late as 5:30 or 6:00. The flip side of this is that my level of coherency begins to diminish rapidly from 6 p.m. I'm usually in bed my 9 and if someone calls around that time it would be a miracle if, the next day, I remembered anything we discussed.

In this day of political correctness animal rights groups in Spain are putting heavy pressure on Spain's new socialist government to outlaw both the running of the bulls in Pamplona and bull fighting all over Spain.

Two totally, politically opposite, lobbying groups, in California, have created many of the problems we currently face regarding water shortage and wild fires. The environment lobby has, for the last thirty-five, successfully prevented the building of any major dams for water retention. They have also lobbied long and hard to dismantle some already existing reservoirs such as Hetch Hitchy. They have qualified ballot initiatives twice to destroy Hetch Hitchy. On both occasions Senator Feinstein and then Senator Boxer opposed the initiatives and they lost. That is fortunate because Hetch Hitchy provided approximately 85% of the water needs of San Francisco. This lobby is now turning to the courts in their attempt to destroy Hetch Hitchy. Thus each year much of California's rain water run off into the Pacific Ocean. In the past local jurisdictions insisted that there be large open buffer areas between housing and commercial developments and high fire scrub and timbered areas. Over the last thirty years developers and builders have lobbied local county boards of supervisors and city councils to shrink these buffer zones. They have been extremely successfully in changing zoning restrictions by making large contributions to the re-elections coffers of our local government politicians (prostitutes). Now numerous major housing and commercial developments in Southern California directly abut high fire danger areas. I never cease to be amazed why people would buy in these areas but they do and then later whine about the fact that their home were destroyed by fire. The problem in compounded in the foothills of Southern California because of the dual threat of fires in the summer and fall and mud slides in the winter and spring. Fortunately I live, in the flat lands, with the rest of the peasants, and we are safe from these types of fires and mud slides.
