  1. In addition to the lack of housekeeping, the maintenance of the rooms is also being neglected. Stayed at a Marriott owned hotel recently and the towel bar fell off the wall when I lifted the towel up and the toilet paper holder wouldn't stay in the horizontal position (a slide the roll on design) so the roll would end up on the floor - small easily fixable problems that are either not getting reported by housekeeping or the maintenance staffs have also been slashed.

If the hotels are cutting services they should also be cutting the prices, but fat chance of that ever happening!

  2. I wish providers would state in their ads whether or not they are vaccinated. I don't care what their political stand on vaccinations is, but personally I don't want to hire anyone who isn't totally vaccinated for Covid-19. And I don't want to have to ask them another question after asking their sexual orientation when listed as "ask", then asking their fee which they can't provide in their ad, their location if not provided,

and if they're top, bottom, or vers. I don't want to waste the providers time (or mine) asking endless questions that could be answered in their ad.

    Sorry - just venting!

  3. Thanks for all this information, but the most recent meeting mentioned here (which seems very positive) is a couple of years old.

Has anyone seen or contacted Brody_J recently, and if so can you share any information? Feel free to PM me.

    Thanks!

  4. A couple of years ago I moved to a house with no basement or attic so lots of stuff had to go. Some went to the dump, some went to the thrift shop. Felt good but there was still a lot left so I paid for a booth at a local flea market and had a great time selling things and meeting people, and of course making a little extra cash - gee I wonder what I'll spend that on😇😈!

  5. Great read! Number 27. I found my accommodations at at Marriott (platinum member) to be rather shabby to say the least and asked to change rooms. They told me the new room would be ready in a couple of hours and they would do the move. Having nothing to do I sat in the lobby and read. Checked with the desk a couple of times after the stated time and still no room. Having worked in many hotels in my life I was cool about it. Soon the manager called me over to the desk and apologized for it taking so long and said that my room was finally ready - they gave me the presidential suite for the rest of my stay! Being kind and relaxed really paid off.

What are we actually trying to accomplish here?  The original post was around requesting removing inactive members so they don't show up in the member list and the birthday list.  While I could create a new member group called "inactive", and move members into it that have not been active for more than X years...  it would not prevent them from showing in the member list because they would still actually be a member (just in a different group).

Sounds like we can an accurate count of "active" members without getting rid of anyone. You never know when a longtime lurker will make the move to be active - it took me about 4 years before I signed up, and then longer before I posted anything.
