Unless you run a coffee shop or restaurant yourself.
I prefer to work with my fellow hookers than against them....most of the time.

But this isn't money! Or is it?

I've been asked about people that I know of and met have never been offended. I always give my honest opinion. Sometimes a client wants to switch it up or he might be traveling and needs a good suggestion. I dont think it's not that much different than asking for a good coffee shop or place to eat lol.

I'd advise not to go alone. And stay in the main part of town. Maybe wear a fanny pack to keep your wallet and valuables in. And park on the US side and take a cab over. But if you do drive remember that US insurance is no good in Mexico. There are insurance companies on the US side where you can buy coverage. Do not drink the tap water. Montezuma's revenge. Buy bottled water or sodas. Do not give to beggars; it is a scam.
I'm going solo. As far as I know I'm the only one in my family with a passport. I know all abt the water as I've been to Mexico twice before, before one needed stupid government permission. I dont drive four wheels at all so that's not an issue for me. It's safer for everyone if I dont, trust me lol.

I've taken selfies with clients. I usually dont have an issue with it. My face is posted here and in adverts so usually no biggie.

I’d go to TJ, I’d eat at Caesars and I’ve eaten at many a taco truck in TJ, Ensenada, and dozens of others in Baja and coastal Mainland Mexico.
Many of us apparently have different levels of confidence in our risk assesment (and differences in iron stomachs?
)
Imma prob stock up on the imodium. I usually need to anyways when traveling. The different quality of water sometimes makes my tummy angry

Ok we've went waaaaay off topic. 1. I dont care about 20 or 30 yrs ago. That isn't within the last year or two. 2. LA south central or whatever is no longer part of Mexico and is not in the area and I am not visiting the LA area. Idk how this thread jumped the shark. Either stay on topic, keep it recent or don't reply. I dont mean to sound rude but just about none of the posts are relevant.

I've not been to Tijuana for maybe 30 years. I was visiting friends in Los Angeles and we took a day trip. No adult activities. Just shopping. One friend went there every month to get meds. I remember a Woolworth store and we ate near there.
30 yrs ago is a long time ago. I was 12 years old 30 years ago.

I'm about 98% sure (if I don't get booked that day or night) I am going to make a stop in Tijuana while I'm in San Diego. I mean how can I not spend an afternoon and early eve with my peeps? Anyways any suggestions on where to eat and maybe see? I'm not super fussy on my eats just no mushrooms please and thank you. Public art is super cool as well as maybe a museum or nice park to people watch would be rad. Yeah I'm a lil trashy. No shame in my game.

Greg
P.S. Not really interested in hearing how dangerous it is. I frequently go to the south side of Chicago. I'm not scared of much.

I've seen the same people asking for change on the L for yrs now. For a new person to the city it can be heart breaking. But after seeing the same people for 5 or 6 yrs with the same story I'm not buying it. Life is hard, shit happens but seriously in a matter of yrs you can't better yourself? Here's something to ponder. Here in Chicago there is a out reach program called Heartland. They will accept gov issued mail and I believe regular mail so that one can get public aid. With the public aid one doesn't need a place to cook food cause all they have to do is go to a Marianos (owned by Kroger grocery), go to the meat dept and buy a steak, fish, pork from the meat case and after purchasing the product the store will cook it on their grill, for free. This is something that's offered to the public. So as long as someone didnt get cut off for scamming they can eat. If they got cut off for scamming, not my issue.

With a trip to Argentina happening next year I will be taking notes from your blog. Although I will be spending most of my time in the mountains.

I think a major reason also is due to the lack of health coverage and facilities in those neighborhoods. Up until just a few years ago Howard Brown an all inclusive healthcare facility only had 2 office to see people. And where you might ask? The fancy pants part of Chicago, Lakeview. Only within the last few years did they expand further south where blacks and Latinos live and into my area a few neighborhoods north of their main facility. Blacks and Latinos usually have higher rates of jobs that do not offer insurance so that's a whole another barrier.
