What a nightmare. Thank you so much for looking out for us.

Juan! "We are the Altar Boyz . . ."🎶

I enjoyed the movie a lot. It was far better than the last two, which were awful. Put people on an island escaping dinosaurs, and as long as they don't do anything too outlandish, I will buy it. It is Jurassic World, not Fences. My only complaint was that some of the CGI looked cheap, particularly the water stuff.

It looked delightful. Sometimes the best shows get shut out of the Tonys. Some of the Tonys performances were terrible. I look forward to getting the cast album. I wish I could see the show.

Post-Tonys Fallout 3: "Dead Outlaw" closing June 29
MaybeMaybeNot replied to Ali Gator's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
The "Dead Outlaw" Tonys performance felt like they were trying to get people to beg for refunds. -
How much time do you spend? I take about 20-30 minutes a day. A waste of time? Yes. Am I changing that? No.

Periodically in my 30s, I got intense short-lived headaches.

I suspect Salonga has been typecast for much of her career. I remember her once saying they wouldn't see her for Princess Amneris. I don't think someone returns to Broadway in shows like Allegiance and a revised Flower Drum Song because you are passionate about the work. Hopefully this will open doors for her.

Lupone 'breaks her silence' on Audra, Kecia, and more !
MaybeMaybeNot replied to Ali Gator's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
Hopefully she lives and learns. I can see her fruatration with Lewis, but her response was extreme. Sometimes a humble apology to someone who feels hurt, even if it is not warranted, helps heal. You don't have to be wrong to apologize or to respond with kindness. I think Patti is becoming a caricature of herself. She earned applause for yelling at people with cell phones and refusimg to wear masks, and now she feels happy to do it as a lifestyle choice. She gets streaming money, so she doesn't need Broadway. But it's one thing to attack Madonna or. ALW; that is like throwing a pebble at a whale. It is another to attack Kecia Lewis or Audra MacDonald, who are respected peers. -

Entertainment (film/TV) and all the businesses that feed off it. But, I don't mean to hijack the discussion, just reflecting on what I am seeing and hearing.

I think it is a reasonable cost for a nice venue (i.e. not the Burbank studio where you can't see) where you get to see a dozen or more beautiful men totally naked. Most people can handle the increase, I am sure. Unfortunately, Los Angeles is struggling as one of its primary industries has disappeared overnight, and this will be prohibitive for some unless that industry returns.

It is interesting that as I was typing my response, you were typing your. I feel like you are saying a number of things I feel.

I am, for the most part, still in the closet. I grew up in a conservative environment. If pressed, I know my parents would say they knew I was gay. Unfortunately, that was not acceptable. I was in denial until after they died. I moved across the country for work, and then alone and struggling to make friends, I had to come to terms with the reality of my sexuality or face loneliness. I was 40. My two closest friends know and a few gay friends. When I told one of my closest friends whom I knew would be accepting, I cried. I have not told my brother., my nieces, my nephew. I suspect my closest friend in my new city is gay, but we have a similar background and I don't want to tell him. He may be in denial as well. I have not told the longtime female friend who has been pining for me for 10 years and can't seem to understand that she can't negotiate a relationship with someone who is not interested. That's traumatic in its own way. I think about fully coming out, but my biggest concern is my brother's ex-wife, who probably knows I am gay and has tried to prevent me from spending time with my nephew a few times because of it. Oddly enough, I suspect her brother is gay. But, I also struggle with disappointing people from my past. Most of my close friends would be 100% supportive. I have been with my partner for 7 years, and most of my core support have no idea. It is very weird. Part of it is, sexuality is very personal. By coming out, I feel like it is revealing something very personal. The moment you tell someone you are gay, you are revealing something about your sex life. To me, that is private. I save that for anonymous message boards. I really need to see a counselor.

I have been to North Hollywood. Add on $10 for non-members. I have gone on Fri and Sat nights and enjoy myself. I have not been to the other two places so cannot compare. Let me know if you have questions.

I saw Old Friends in L.A. A fantastic night of theatre.
-
Anyone with money to spend would fit in very well. Go have a fun time!

This is the first season in a while I really wish I could make it to NYC. Maybe Happy Endings, Death Becomes Her, and Boop all sounds great. I already know Old Friends is fantastic (saw it in LA). Plus, Smash got a good review in the Times. Hopefully Broadway is regaining its footing.

Again, everyone knows the IMDB rating carries no weight since it was review-bombed. The only review aggregator that couldn’t be bombed was Cinemascore, which gathers data from people exiting theaters. There it earned a B+, the same as the hit Minecraft Movie. Based on members who actually saw it, Snow White is 100% Fresh on Company of Men. Post Edited. ‘Snow White’ Flagged By IMDB Due To Intense Review-Bombing WWW.FORBES.COM Well, in the case of Snow White, IMDB would seem to disagree.
-
It was review-bombed. Everyone knows that. The amount of racist hate I saw alone online for this movie was disheartening. Snow White brightened my day, and I loved it. That's enough for me. Most young people today have not seen the movie. I wish they would bring it back on the big screen, but with it being readily available on Disney Plus, it's not likely it would have done well enough to warrant a reissue.

@ApexNomad I am by no means an expert on their library. I feel like, though, their work falls into two camps. The first is traditional musical theatre where everything rhymes perfectly and develops an idea. The second is more pop-infused so is repetetive with imperfect rhymes. I prefer the musical theatre style. That said, I appreciated the score to Dear Evan Hansen but didn't care for the show itself. I was one of the few not into La La Land. I enjoy the music to Greatest Showman but get distracted by the more pop lyrics. I don't remember much about A Christmas Story.
