Safety (or rather, perceptions of it) is always such a thorny topic. But I would always recommend a new traveler, an older (elderly) traveler, a disabled or not-in-shape traveler, or a traveler who doesn’t look like he “fits in” to the demographic of these neighborhoods, to take an Uber or a taxi to and from any of these saunas. Once you can walk to and from the Metro stations confidently and with an air that you know exactly where you are, then maybe try the Metro.

I agree about the "maybe try the Metro" in the above post.  However, do not use most Metro buses in Brazil.  If you can read Portugese, check the internet news for reported robberies aboard buses.  You will see several reports of incidents of robberies on buses daily.
A metro speeds along fast and many metro cars have local police riding along for safety.
However, the buses do not have that added protection of police on board.
For most vacationers to Brazil, do not chance taking a bus while Ubers are so much faster and safer and cheap.

The manager, as he has dealt before with Traveling Karens, most likely would’ve just shaken his head and said, “gringos”. And then, had a good laugh with the staff and the locals about how USAmericans always think everything has to be about them.

same thing happened to me in BCN.  It’s a strict policy there.  I’ve seen it happen to other clients there many times.  They’re not really rude about it - but if there is a language barrier it could come off that way.  I believe they are wary of law enforcement going in & less likely to happen if everyone is in towels…among many reasons to enforce that rule.

I have no doubt that providers getting scammed by clients is a reoccurring problem.
as mentioned previously, when I briefly used a burner number the call back ratio by experienced providers was almost zero.  I don’t know how they could ID a burner number, but they were able to do it.  Less experienced providers were the ones responding to the burner number.
I have a lot of empathy for providers, knowing how they get so many inquiries with no intention to hire.  Then, an actual appointment and more BS from the client.  The discussions here tend to be client focused and about providers pulling scams.  I’ll bet it’s at least an equal ratio with clients scamming providers.
And back to the original topic - I’ll bet plenty of providers get stalked by clients too

    oh the irony -
quite something to opine about people using multiple aliases when one does the very same thing, ad infinitum.
and particularly when one is known for the multiple aliases due to the signature verbose ridiculous/pompous/pretentious posts
not surprising in context , yet a stunning lack of self-awareness. again

I think discussing your sex life in ANY way, should be with a very limited and very trusted audience.
As stated here previously, providing people ammunition to use against you is never smart.
I don't have any in-person relationships with anyone on the forum so I have no risk in the game, and I am free to share. Probably why I enjoy discussing here. No way to have it blow up in my face, since nobody knows me in real life.

I wouldn’t hire a guy with kill ‘em all tattooed on his forehead, or anywhere else. I wouldn’t even be curious about that guy’s dick size. Once I saw that photo, it was enough for me to move on. I definitely get the allure, and I’d never yuck someone else’s yum, and no one deserves what happened to the OP.  I was just saying you and I evaluate ads differently if you see kill ‘em all tattooed on someone’s forehead and don’t see a red flag.

I'm not a lawyer, but think twice before calling the police if this was in Texas. If the police think someone paid for sex, that's now a felony on the first charge in Texas. New law that I believe is less than a year old.

    great review of Lagoa.

I’m assuming you probably have some specific contact information for garotos you met & liked.  When you get private messages asking for that information (and you will) - do not give it out.  Keep all your contacts for you only.  All you need is for one creeper to ruin a nice relationship.

The bloody Cuban Revolution began because Guevara, Castro and a number of others were tired of the rich white Americans and Europeans flaunting their wealth in excess and treating the black and brown Cubans like serfs or property.
Tourists should be a bit more circumspect about their words and behavior. Everyone might not be as impressed or in admiration as they like to think they are.

solacesoul got a reaction from BSR in “The Last Match” / “La Partida” (2013) — Havana’s male hustler scene.
I actually loved this movie (a fictional tale), until the ending. The final scene was not very believable at all. The rest of it could’ve very well been a documentary. Very attractive casting as well. 10-15 years ago (when the film was released), the jineteros / pingueiros in Havana did indeed look like that. But now? Um… not so much.
I believe it’s still currently available for purchase / rent on Amazon Prime Video.
    Synopsis:
A married male prostitute (Reinier Diaz) and a soccer player (Milton García) who works for a debt collector begin a dangerous romance.
