+ oldNbusted got a reaction from Skurril in Pornstar escorts I have hired
Get out of here with all these facts! The argument being made is actually an emotional one. People want to engage in risky behavior but don't want to accept responsibility for any adverse consequences for their choices, so et voila, it must be someone else's fault. Because they say so.

Nineteen Eighty-Four is one of those books I pick up repeatedly, thinking I am just going to read a scene or a passage and end up reading the whole thing again. Everything I've needed to know about human behavior, I learned from this book.

+ oldNbusted got a reaction from themsg in 411 on Auguste...
Since I'm off work this week, I reached out to him yesterday to set up a session either yesterday or today if he had any availability, and expressed a preference for after 10 am, so I could avoid the additional commute time due to rush hour traffic. He offered 9 am today and since he is leaving town tomorrow, I took a deep breath and accepted.
This morning I texted him I was getting ready, then another text that I was on my way and pointing out I only had his general location from MF, so I would need more at some point, then a text when I arrived in the area at 8:45 am. No response. At 9 am, I texted I was leaving.
When I got back home, this is what my phone looked like (no, I don't look at my phone while I'm driving):
If you've read my posts, you know I'm in the 1 strike club, so I didn't respond. He offered about 3 different explanations why this happened. Since we know he has skills, perhaps in time he will come to understand that organization and communication are part of running your own business too.
I remember recently there was a thread about 'double confirmation" and there were a lot of people speaking out against it. I have to point out that if I had required that from him, perhaps I wouldn't have had to get up early on my vacation and spend over 2 hours in stop and go traffic for nothing.

Update: 5/6/21
I plan to start reorganizing/creating new forums tomorrow. Based on popular request, I'll leave Opera as just itself. (I thought about calling it "Not Until the Fat Lady Sings", but I thought might be pushing it.)

+ oldNbusted reacted to Cooper in COMING SOON: New Forum Organization
@BuffaloKyle, To respond to your comment, before you became a member in 10/2020 there was a request made by @Lucky to have a separate forum called “Comedy/Tragedy”. It’s original intend was to discuss Broadway ? shows. The Forum became quite popular and other requests were made for sub-forums devoted to movies, literature, TV, etc. The major reason it might not look too active to you is because of the pandemic. You’ll see the number of threads increase once these venues reopen. Just because a Forum doesn’t appear too active, ex. Escort Travels, doesn’t mean it won’t get active in time.

A decision regarding the future of the Cabana is not going to be made as part of this change. The original goal was simply to reorganize what is already here. The scope appears to be slightly changing in that a few forum or two might make their way out there... but right now I don't foresee making a decision to remove something already established right now. (I'm intentionally shying away from anything destructive given that we don't officially have control of the site yet. Again, it's highly unlikely to matter, but instead I'm taking a minor precaution.)

After speaking with the other moderators, it has been observed the organization of the forums is a little unnatural and seems to be sorted based on when they were created. As a result I will be looking to reorganize the forum listings a bit. Below is an outline of how we plan to organize the display:

I did not want to just spring this on everyone unannounced, so my goal is to share the plan here first and then make the change in the next few days. If you have any questions or would like to propose a name for the Lounge/Cabana container, feel free to reply below.

+ oldNbusted reacted to Whitman in When They Were Young
Max Roach (1924-2007), American jazz drummer and composer, a pioneer of bebop.
On tour in Japan, mid-1950s
Hackensack, NJ, 1955
All of the guys in my gang in the early 1950s listened to jazz. Every day after school we'd go to a record store in Eltham in South East London. Back then they'd let you listen to the latest records in soundproof booths. One day I was going through new albums and came across "Quintet of the Year." That record changed me, particularly the song "A Night in Tunisia."
"Quintet of the Year" was recorded at Massey Hall in Toronto [in May 1953]. In America, you know the album as "Jazz at Massey Hall." The quintet was a superband with Charlie Parker on alto sax, Dizzy Gillespie on trumpet, Bud Powell on piano, Charles Mingus on bass and Max Roach on drums. They were bebop all-stars who had never played together as a unit—and never did after.
I wasn't a drummer then—I didn't even have a drum kit. But I was blown away by Max and the stuff he was doing on "A Night in Tunisia."
... He wasn't playing straight 4/4 time but treating the drums like a solo instrument. ...He threw in things without worrying about complementing Bird [Parker] or Dizzy. He insisted on being an equal member of the conversation, which was cool.
I liked the album so much I stole it. I didn't even have a record player. I had to take it around to a friend's house to hear it. From then on I knew I was going to be a drummer.

I hardly watch any baseball, but for some reason, if Andrew McCutchen appears on the screen, he always turns my head, even if I don't know it's him at first, it's kinda odd, there is something about his body language that catches my eye.

I love this video, and I like ore and more this boy. Some of my Black friends made an attempt to criticize him (not from a homophobic stand) and I did not hear them and move on in the conversation. I guess I will soon learn something that will ruin my romance, but right now I do like him a lot.

+ oldNbusted got a reaction from BabyBoomer in PSA: TINA on HBO Mar 27th & HBO Max starting Mar 28
hbo.com: TINA
With a wealth of never-before-seen footage, audio tapes, personal photos, and new interviews, including with the singer herself, TINA presents an unvarnished and dynamic account of the life and career of music icon Tina Turner.
Everything changed when Tina began telling her story, a story of trauma and survival, that gave way to a rebirth as the record-breaking queen of rock 'n' roll. But behind closed doors, the singer struggled with the survivor narrative that meant her past was never fully behind her.
Directed by Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin, the documentary charts Tina Turner's early fame, the private and public personal and professional struggles, and her return to the world stage as a global phenomenon in the 1980s.
Angela Bassett, Oprah Winfrey, journalist Kurt Loder, playwright Katori Hall and Tina's husband Erwin Bach are among the interviews in the intimate documentary.
Very much looking forward to this, I have nothing but respect for her. They are describing this as her last hurrah, word is she plans to leave the public eye and retire quietly.

Vaccination does not mean immunity. You can still get COVID, and spread it; it just lessens the severity of your symptoms so hospitalization probably won't be needed.
