  1. Just a month or so ago, a friend who is taking an English class was astounded on hearing a recording of the Orson Wells "War of the Worlds" broadcast. He had never heard of it beforehand.

This astounded me until I found my nephew had no idea who his grandfather was. I had shared my Ancestry.com findings but no one was interested. If it isn't happening now, no one cares.

  2. I haven't written a cheque in years. I pay bills on line. Even cash purchases such as at coffee shops or fast food outlets, can be paid by credit card or bank debit card. Banks charge too much service fee if cheques are used.

  3. I have never been given flowers. Memories of flowers take me back to my childhood. My mother had 5 sister'. When eah of them were married the family would gather at the grandparent's farm house and the smell of the wedding flowers was overwhelming. I've never experienced that wonderful scent since, even when entering a florist store.

  5. Good research @njny7621 . My experience on the Forum is one where I have had disputes with forum members but they were all reasonable and polite. There is no excuse for the abuse directed your way. Please take it in stride and continue posting. My rule is that if I find a post uninteresting I just ignore the thread and find something that is interesting. Since you are new, it is unfortunate you have been attacked but welcome to the forum anyway.

  6. I've been to Flash a few times. The quality of the dancers varies from week to week. The same with Remington's. June is Pride month in Toronto with major events and parades scheduled for the end of the month. There are always big crowds and this means clubs book top quality talent.

If you come to Toronto why not spend time with some of the guys on Rentmen Toronto? In my view hiring an escort gives more satisfaction than tipping dancers at strip bars. Some of the guys at both Flash and Remington's will give more than a nude lap dance but what it costs is better spent with an escort.

  7. I agree that Barcelona has some of the hottest guys in the world. I have never been to a city where everyone was gorgeous. There is workout equipment for public use on the beach and lots of guys using the equpment or getting a tan. I wondered why such hunks hang out at the beach until I was told that the unemployment rate is near 50%.

  8. Like @Kris_Canada said, there has been very little discussion of where to spot hustlers in Toronto. Years ago when I lived There, a bar on T

Yonge called Sneakers was generally regarded as a hustler bar. There were always a number of great looking guys willing to strike a deal to go home with you. But the bar no longer exists.

My suspicion is that Craigslist and Back Page ended the run. It was easier to answer an ad than take the chance of being spotted in a notorious joint especially if one was leading a double life.

Unfortunately CL and BP don' seem to recognize a border line and follow American law shutting down their personal ads.

Will this lead to the revival of hustler bars in Toronto. Let's hope so!

  9. I had my annual eye exam this week. As a Type 2 diabetic monitoring eye health is important. My doctor started off asking how do I think the results this year compared to last year. I started complaining that I feel my right eye is declining and I fear a growth in cataracts that were first noticed last exam.

Doctor then told me that I have 20/20 vision and cataract problem is negligible. He suggested my main problem was worrying about results. He regretted mentioning anything about cataracts but felt I had a right to know. Take away from the exam: Don't worry; be happy

I think we spend too much time stressing on issues we can do nothing about except making them worse in our minds.

  10. When I was young growing up in Ontario Canada we always referred to the Victoria Day holiday as either "The 24th of May"or "firecracker day" . Our allegiances now are for Canada day on July 1st although some people still explode fireworks on the Victoria Day holiday.

When I was working in a factory while going to university, an American head office official called the plant perplexed he could not reach any of the bosses on May 20. The caller was told it was a Canadian holiday. "What holiday is that", the American asked "The 24th of May he was told.

  11. I have had Type 2 diabetes for over 15 years. When first diagnosed I was told not to eat foods such as listed by @Avalon has listed. A new doctor who prides himself on diabetes treatment has presribed Jardiance ( one pill daily), Jentadueto ( 2 pills daily) and 60 units of Lantus insulin before bed. While the quantities of food I eat are small, my daily blood sugar levels and A1C are always within normal range. For all those suffering not only from the disease but from the dietary restrictions as well, maybe get a second opinion.

  12. I think a lot of it depends on how well you know the escort. One escort I know has been a regular call for over a year. We have developed a friendhip as well as a business relationship. On two occasions now neither of us has cum. But the time spent was so intimate and intellectually stimulating that I feel like I got my money's worth. If I didn't know the guy or if the hire was simply for a particular sexual act and the escort broke his promise of performance, there is good reason to reduce payment. I know it is advertised that money is for time spent only but if a new escort takes that position he should expect no return visits.

  13. I knew a fellow once who constructed a false wall in his basement. Behind the false wall he had a marijuana grow up. Not sure if police raided the premises. He was so proud of the structure he bragged openly about his secret room. I suspect so many people were told of it that it no longer was a secret room.
