Isn't the rule that you don't tip business owners, you tip employees such as restaurant workers, masseurs at spas, and cab drivers? With that in mind, I'll tip rounding up in increments of $20 if I think someone has provided above and beyond the value typically found in the market. I usually go for 90-minute sessions and I think that the guys charging $240 for that are already pushing it (would you tip your lawyer making a quarter million a year?), so something really special has to happen there before I tip. Having said that, my favorites (Brad in NY, Alex in Miami Beach, Nikola in Chicago,...) are well below that and I gladly tip $40-60 to get them there or close. On a side note, given the frequency of "meh" experiences, I like to have the exact change going into a massage with a new guy. And I never feel cheap giving it, because I think I am overpaying them anyway.

A competent masseur who should run a regular business and charge $80-100 an hour. Then he wouldn't have to use someone else's pix, offer a rushed, mechanical HE in the end, and do body gymnastics throughout to avoid any accidental contact. But hey, charging ~50% more is too enticing to some, even if it means constant travel in search of new and unsuspecting one-time clients. I am so glad this forum exists, sometimes you take one for the team but other times it really saves you money, time, and frustration!

I revisited Brad recently and I still stand by this earlier statement. Full disclosure: I fucking adore him! Great masseur, sweet guy, insanely cute and hot, smart/literate/communicative, and genuinely caring. Nice & comfortable setting too, even if it's a bit of a hike to Inwood, but express train gets you there pretty fast.

Masseurs pay extra to have their ad appear near the top of the list that you see when you search for masseurs in a city. It's interesting that this dude apparently pays a lot, his ad appears in the first row, and one of my all time worst, Luka, is right in the second. Truly good masseurs like Brad obviously don't give a fuck, he is way down. If you offer great value, people will find you. If you don't, you have to use marketing gimmicks. It's almost like you should load the entire list and then start from the end.

I think shorts and t-shirt, I didn't really care because I was face down. Once I turned face up things quickly became better ;-)

As I said, the massage was very good, he is clearly trained. As far as the rest, politeness and good manners go a long way, although everyone's mileage may vary. I was able to see him naked toward the end and the interaction, while not escorty, was fun and very pleasant. I can attest to the fact that he is gorgeous and well proportioned all over, I don't notice the size unless it's truly extraordinary, on the low or on the high side.

I was interested until I saw his rate. There is such thing as too low.

Saw him for the second time recently and I am sad to report that there will be no more repeats :-( He is still sweet, hot, massages you in the nude, does not shy away from the glutes, and the massage is actually very good, although it may feel too rough for some as he uses very little lotion (which I like). However, he is just a straight dude that probably doesn't like what he does, and despite some very sensual elements (e.g., him using his chest and body), everything is very choreographed to minimize interaction and him being touched. Followed by "now you can finish yourself" which is probably a result of hanging around other Eastern European straight masseurs for too long (this wasn't an issue the first time I saw him when he was still new in town). That is just a major turnoff for me, plus the language & cultural barrier, and the whole thing becomes so not worth the time and money. Now I am officially done with any Russian/Ukrainian/etc. masseurs operating out of Hell's Kitchen. I think they all (or most, anyway) work for a guy that rents an apartment and handles their text messages and appointments. Most are athletic straight dudes with basic or less than basic English (which you discover to your surprise when you meet) eager to make a good buck, they price aggressively at $150-160 and the whole thing just doesn't work for me. Not to mention that the operation's "manager" might send you a different guy from the one that you see on MF, just not worth the hassle...

My guess: New arrival from Ukraine or another Eastern European country, someone else will handle your texts and guide you to an apartment that multiple masseurs from the same part of the world share for massages. You'll likely discover his English probably isn't very good and your experience will be anything from abysmal (like a totally different guy showing up) to excellent (he is real, actually knows what he is doing, and delivers).

$150 an hour for purely therapeutic massage?! I can get absolutely top notch therapeutic massage on the next block for $80 an hour, so the question is do his good looks and nice personality justify the difference? I'd say no. And the huge Houston market seems to agree given his agressive travel schedule. If he offered more value for what he charges a city of that size would keep him plenty busy, just my 2c.

Strictly therapeutic, used draping on me, probably to send a clear message. He looks hotter in those pix than he really is, sounded a little whiney and affectatious when I visited him a couple of years back. From the map, it seems that he sill operates out of the same and somewhat dumpy apartment near the freeway, I think he is an aspiring musician too. The upshot is that it's a really good deal/rate for a good therapeutic massage, he is a competent masseur.

My theory is that guys putting up bogus ads can sense whether a potential client is a good candidate to be scammed. Maybe your initial message was too on point and indicated that you wouldn't be easy to mess with?

The only downside I can see is that he is a little too "flamboyant" in the way he acts and talks, but looks very masculine otherwise. Massages you nude and sensual elements are very nice, I don't think this part would be disappointing for most.

So is the upsell from $150 to $230 for a 60-minute massage or does the upsell include additional 30 minutes? The reason I am asking is that he lists $230 for 90-minutes on his site, and if this is the case the rate is kind of high but within the acceptable limits.
