He is a competent masseur who should charge $80-100 for therapeutic massage, I think I wrote that elsewhere. Everything else sucks, anyone looking for any sensuality will end up very disappointed and frustrated, while paying for it. I'd avoid.

I met the person whose ad this is but that's not him in the pix. Weird vibe, I should have cancelled as soon as he opened the door and I realized that there is something fishy going on.

Is he hot? ;-)

Drive-by, hit-and-run, city baiting, and other scams
Capitano replied to Capitano's topic in Spas & Masseurs
This is becoming ridiculous, the typical recipe as of late: (hot pictures) + (a random collection of 3 smaller to mid-sized cities) + (a non-English ad) https://rentmasseur.com/Richies Whenever you recognize the pattern you are likely to be asked to make an advanced payment using some stupid iTunes code. Rentmasseur should really crack down on this shit. -
I think the story is that a single handler pays for one ad and then sends whoever is available. Hoping they would look sufficiently similar or at least be so hot that the client wouldn't care. It is some Russian or Ukrainian operation, I believe. The guys are all hot, most are athletes or very athletic, straight, and have pretty good massage skills but speak very basic English. Many won't mind getting naked for the massage but that's it, and they have this thing that they will avoid your glutes and tell you in the end "now you can finish yourself." It's annoying to the point that I've begun to ignore any ads that merely look like they MIGHT be this type of deal. Unless, of course, multiple posters here provide positive feedback on the guy. And yeah, many of these guys come and go, as seems to be the case here. Or reappear under a new name, as if we needed more red flags ;-)

Do we have any updates on this guy? https://rentmasseur.com/TheGingerJock https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/30135/ He was mentioned, negatively :-( , on other threads but it's probably a good idea to move the discussion back to the thread devoted to him. I have to admit that quoting $175 is a bit of a turnoff for me but I could be wrong. Maybe he should go for $179.99 or $174.99 . Thanks and Happy New Year, may it be filled with great massage experiences!

Is New Jersey a wasteland for m4m masseurs?
Capitano replied to RubMyThighs's topic in Spas & Masseurs
I am starting to think that most of the country outside NYC, Miami, and probably LA is one huge wasteland as far as m4m masseurs. Even a big city like Houston or Atlanta is merely a “meh” in my experience. Chicago may seem a little better with a couple of good ones but not nearly as good as you’d think when you look at the number of listings. Thank God for some local gem here and there. And for this site, Happy New Year! -
For a legitimate massage, it’s not just odd, it’s unheard of. On the other hand, for a scam, it’s not odd at all, it’s a pretty common trick. Yeah right, send us money in advance, LOL.

Yikes, just got down to NOLA and things haven't improved one bit! :-( That this guy is still in business is definitely a bad sign https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/31710/# but if anyone has a recommendation I'd love to hear it. It is weird being in a major American city that receives millions of tourists and unable to find a good & hot masseur, why do they all go to Miami? Had similar underwhelming experience in Nashville, wtf is going on? :-)
-
Let me guess, they’ll ask for an advance payment. And I use “they” and not “he” because this type of ad is way too frequent, it’s an organized scam, I am willing to bet.

Would you remember how tall? Just curious. And do you mean "confident" as in cocky or assertive? Could that be the reason you haven't revisited? Thanks!

Indeed! I was in Louisville on business for a couple of days recently, and having run out of things to do in the evening decided to try against my better judgment and clear warnings here. One of my worst experiences ever. He is completely out of shape with more than a few pounds extra, has serious self & life issues, and is all about extracting money. He offers 3 different types of massage at 3 different rates in the initial texts, not forgetting to encourage tipping on top of those rates (WTF?), which I find tacky. Then you discover that there are 4 different extras that he tries to upsell when he meets you, at which point things become beyond ridiculous. Then the massage starts and he brags and brags, and tries to extract compliments for his skills. I couldn't take it, I cut it short, paid politely and left. One of those times when it felt good to have the exact amount to avoid rounding up. Avoid.

Drive-by, hit-and-run, city baiting, and other scams
Capitano replied to Capitano's topic in Spas & Masseurs
Dart-throwing continues, Estonia, New Orleans, Santa Fe, Fort Lauderdale, and the ad is in Portuguese LOL: https://rentmasseur.com/branc Maybe some automated bot shit that has infected rentmasseur? -
Yikes, not only are the pix way outdated (a guy unable to embrace his age is a major red flag), he couldn't stop yapping, even though I made it clear I just wanted to relax and just zone out. It was almost compulsive, which made me feel even more uncomfortable. He generally knows what he is doing but the massage was still lame because he kept being distracted, looking for the right bottle, adjusting the temperature, futzing with music, blinds, then telling his next joke or story, etc. Overpriced too, a total waste of time and money, avoid. PS I think he was ready to provide some "sensuality" but I just couldn't wait to get out of there.

One of my worst experiences ever! A self-centered diva who sees himself as a model and doing massages is clearly beneath him. No wonder he has to keep changing names on rm and mf, where he now goes by "Roland." https://rentmasseur.com/anjrped https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/18208/ "I always strive to give 100% to each and every person" "Zero attitude!!" ROFLMAO.

It’s a major turnoff for me to even mention a tip, unless it is to say that none is accepted, in which case I am still a little puzzled as to why? Does anybody ever doubt that a masseur will welcome a tip, seriously? When a masseur thinks it’s necessary to bring it up, I suspect a focus on extracting as much as possible while doing the minimum he can get away with. And I usually pass. I like to do business with those who focus on providing enough value to get me to come back. And then I tip generously because it feels good and I want them to feel appreciated and look forward to seeing me again, a win-win.

Drive-by, hit-and-run, city baiting, and other scams
Capitano replied to Capitano's topic in Spas & Masseurs
Maybe rentmasseur should disallow overlapping presence in multiple cities. This makes no sense: Colorado Springs, Dec 16 - Jan 06 Jacksonville, Dec 16 - Jan 13 Indianapolis, Dec 17 - Jan 15 But then, it's a useful red flag for potential clients, you have to ask yourself what's going on here. -

Darts on the map indeed, but it's still puzzling. Unless rentmasseur is running some promotions with FREE advertising for a month or so. Here is some more nonsense: Poland, Colorado Springs, Indianapolis, and Jacksonville, WTF? https://rentmasseur.com/Jerrydugan -
Drive-by, hit-and-run, city baiting, and other scams
Capitano replied to Capitano's topic in Spas & Masseurs
How the hell do they pick these locations and are there really any takers that go for this: https://rentmasseur.com/VICJAM https://rentmasseur.com/alexisad -
I'd love to hear which masseurs you thought particularly deserved the tip and why, in a word or two?
-
Isn't the rule that you don't tip business owners, you tip employees such as restaurant workers, masseurs at spas, and cab drivers? With that in mind, I'll tip rounding up in increments of $20 if I think someone has provided above and beyond the value typically found in the market. I usually go for 90-minute sessions and I think that the guys charging $240 for that are already pushing it (would you tip your lawyer making a quarter million a year?), so something really special has to happen there before I tip. Having said that, my favorites (Brad in NY, Alex in Miami Beach, Nikola in Chicago,...) are well below that and I gladly tip $40-60 to get them there or close. On a side note, given the frequency of "meh" experiences, I like to have the exact change going into a massage with a new guy. And I never feel cheap giving it, because I think I am overpaying them anyway.
-
A competent masseur who should run a regular business and charge $80-100 an hour. Then he wouldn't have to use someone else's pix, offer a rushed, mechanical HE in the end, and do body gymnastics throughout to avoid any accidental contact. But hey, charging ~50% more is too enticing to some, even if it means constant travel in search of new and unsuspecting one-time clients. I am so glad this forum exists, sometimes you take one for the team but other times it really saves you money, time, and frustration!

I revisited Brad recently and I still stand by this earlier statement. Full disclosure: I fucking adore him! Great masseur, sweet guy, insanely cute and hot, smart/literate/communicative, and genuinely caring. Nice & comfortable setting too, even if it's a bit of a hike to Inwood, but express train gets you there pretty fast.

Masseurs pay extra to have their ad appear near the top of the list that you see when you search for masseurs in a city. It's interesting that this dude apparently pays a lot, his ad appears in the first row, and one of my all time worst, Luka, is right in the second. Truly good masseurs like Brad obviously don't give a fuck, he is way down. If you offer great value, people will find you. If you don't, you have to use marketing gimmicks. It's almost like you should load the entire list and then start from the end.

I think shorts and t-shirt, I didn't really care because I was face down. Once I turned face up things quickly became better ;-)
