Now that the internet in the U.S. (and some other countries) ban ads promoting prostitution, it might be that the bars will revive again. After all, guys will be guys, one way or another.
 
It would take a lot of "getting used to" going to or returning to bars to meet escorts but it is possible although not totally likely.

I've been back living in Michigan for almost two years now. I just finally ventured back to Club Gold Coast on Thursday and Friday nights. I hadn't been in 2-3 years. The dancer quality was dreadful. Not a single hot masculine guy dancing on either night.
 
Thursday had around 10 dancers. All of them were white guys with the exception of one black and one Hispanic guy. All were somewhat or very effeminate. Not my cup of tea at all. Only one of them had a fairly tight worked out body. Kind of an Adam Rippon look. Very few patrons....maybe 10 paying customers. I left before midnight. There was no point in my staying there as there was no-one I was remotely interested in for a lapdance.
 
I decided to return on Friday night to see if a weekend night would be any better. It was actually worse. Fewer dancers. Only about 6 guys dancing. Five of them were repeats from Thursday plus one different guy. The club was fairly busy when I arrived around 9:30pm. There was a group of 20-25 people (male & female) there that were part of a "party bus". They stayed for about 40 minutes and then left to move onto the next bar on their schedule I guess. That thinned the ranks at the club. It stayed busier than on Thursday....but still nothing like it used to be. I was gone by 11:30pm.
 
I've been an off and on patron of Club Gold Coast for more than 30 years. Whilst it was never close to Montreal/Miami/Atlanta in overall dancer quality, you could always count on there being at least 2-3 hot studs dancing there that were worth taking a private dance with....especially on the weekend. Not any more.
 
I seriously doubt this is a viable business as it currently stands. I hope someone steps in to shake things up and improve the dancer quality substantially. Otherwise, I doubt they can last till 2019.

I was in Montreal last weekend for a long-ish stay from Thursday to Tuesday. Nice to be past the worst of the winter in Montreal. It was still cool/cold whilst I was there but there was no snow/rain which was nice.
 
I started off at Stock on Thursday night just after midnight. I did a quick canvass of the place and saw very little that interested me in terms of dancers. Since the night was already late (I had a late flight arrival), I decided to walk over to campus to see what was happening there....I was happy I did. Campus had 4-5 solid looking musc/masc guys dancing. It was a surprisingly good lineup for a slow cold Thursday night. I hung out with two guys who I knew that previously danced at Stock two years ago. Had a great time with them and also looking at the substantial eye-candy on the stage. A good time was had by EZEtoGRU at Campus on the Thursday.
 
I was concerned about Stock for the rest of my long weekend since Thursday there was a disappointment. I quickly learned that I needn't be. Stock had a very solid lineup of guys for the rest of my stay Friday till Sunday. I had a great time all three nights and didn't at all feel the need to wander over to Campus again. I spent time with lots of hot guys. The notable one's were Franco, Tyson, Justin, Kobe, Mike, Kevin, Morgan, and Jo. So many men....so little time. So much fun. So much alcohol. It was worth it.
 
I stayed an extra day in Montreal to go to the Red Wings vs Canadiens game at the Bell Centre on the Monday night. That was a blast! I went with three "friends" from Stock. Boy was I the thorn between three roses. LOL.

Definitely try Stockbar. Lots of fun!

Don't get your heart set on any particular dancer...even if the website is up to date (which it isn't), dancers often decide at the last minute whether to work on a particular day or whether to quit altogether.
You're reading conflicting accounts because there is no hard and fast rule about these things. They will get naked on stage for part of their routines. They almost always walk around shirtless when they're not on stage (this is usually a management requirement), and some will wear revealing shorts or underwear as well. Only twice in all my visits have I seen a dancer walking around completely nude when not on stage. 
PS It will be fucking cold in Montreal in January, with wind chills not to be believed. Pack appropriately!

Bravo on starting to explore!! It can be nerve-wracking at first. I remember when I went to my first few strip clubs, I was always sooo self conscious and uptight. So much so, that the first couple of times I spent more time worrying and less time relaxing and enjoying myself.

Swinging Richards in Atlanta is the most upscale and the classiest of the male strip clubs south of the US-Canadian border. Its size and layout provide a comfortable environment to kick back and have an enjoyable and relaxing evening. And the quality, quantity, and diversity of the boys is unmatched. Bozo has not experienced the above scenario, though he hasn't been in Atlanta for a couple of years. However, if this is what's happening there now, let's hope someone from Swinging Richards is reading this thread. They had better know that gay men are their bread and butter. Air is community property. Bozo's clean and healthy lungs shouldn't be forced to breathe in your filthy smoke. Bozo doesn't want your smoke polluting his lungs or getting into his eyes, skin, nails, teeth or beautifully coiffed (natural) red hair.
If someone can't sit at a club for a couple of hours without smoking, let them go outside and puff their cancer sticks out there....till they need an iron lung....or drop dead from cancer.
