I ended up hiring him for a massage with some extras since he offers massage and he was obviously trying to get it over with asap while acting like he was just really into the moment. To me, it’s simple: I have the right to ask. The masseur has the right to answer or not. It’s up to me what to do with the response or non-response. And, it’s a two-way street. I’ve had masseurs ask me my status.

Yes, it could even be that the actual person more or less resembles the pix, but doesn't use their own in the interest of privacy.
 
It's certainly worthy of caution, in any case.

I think it’s to attract clients not as sophisticated or educated/informed as this group of clients here on the forum are. These guys wouldn’t be posting their ads if they weren’t getting a response and making at least some short term cash gain.
 
@davebk I think you’re thinking above a spot on. Clients show up with their “second head” doing all the thinking and when it doesn’t turn out to perhaps even be the same person as is advertising… Yes they are too shy, scared, or just willing to walk away.

Fortunately, on the view of all reviews for a given masseur on RentMasseur, prices paid are shown.
That feature gives a good idea of the rate(s), especially for those masseurs whose listing shows "ask"
Recently, I've noticed many masseurs getting in the $300-450 range. wow. (I don't know if those number include tips)

When clients ask for details. I tell them a full body nude massage. If they ask “Are you nude” I respond it’s a full body nude massage. That’s the only details I give as I won’t take a risk exposing more.

My biggest pet peeve is when a client text me wanting right now. Sadly I can’t work on now schedules. I need a 1 hour notice as I have another business and I tend to be busy.

If you charge $150+ and/ or have suggestive pictures, expect certain questions and answer accordingly.
 
If you charge <=$120 and don't have suggestive photos, then just ignore certain questions if you wish.

I always take all the RM reviews with a grain of salt. The only ones I reasonably trust are the ones here.

Yes, that seems to be his MO. Gives a decent massage and lots of extras the first time, has you give him a great review, then the second time he is far less accommodating. He seems to be also using the good reviews to “shop” for clients and be picky who he takes, and he cites to his good reviews in his ad. I’m asking RM to delete my review of him.

Saw once. Don't recall much about massage. Plentiful extras, though. Before leaving, he asked me to post a review. Later, sent a text requesting, again.

Sounds like he had you either pay up front or put down a deposit. Either way, that’s ALWAYS a red flag.
