Just finished this. Gay book. I recommend it. Some beautiful writing, and good world-building for a first time novelist. Often times, poets who write a first prose book write messy. This is that. The main character infuriated me. I enjoyed it. Saw it at Arclight when it came out, Shelter was quite good. San Pedro never before looked so filmic!

Look at the top of those traps. Nice.

The Lemar, Drake one was my fav. Che looked (rightly) terrified. I knew nothing about this until Bill Maher talked about it the night before.

I had sex with him long long ago, and it was fantastic.

I've mentioned it here before, when I started escorting at 26 I immediately saw guys in their 80s and 90s, older than my living (at the time) grandfather immediately (and still do.) Point is there are escorts to whom age does not matter. I would add, as others have said, if an escort has difficulty working with someone only 10-15 years older than him, he's in the wrong field and won't last. That doesn't help you once he's in your apartment, so what you need to do is use this forum to find escorts who are a good fit for you, whether there's a 10 year or 60 year difference. Happy Hunting.

Yeah, I loo Thank you for the links. I looked at his insta and it seems as if the last photos, 2022, seem to have him as working on a ship. I hope he's well.

clearly, I was generalizing about instances people, not specifically the OP, were inclined to lend. And I addressed the OP's hurt feelings, and ghosting more broadly, in previous posts w/in this thread.

What the fuck kinda response is that? Unless I were in a real shit mood, I wouldn't likely speak that coldly to a stranger, but to your own son? That kind of arch bravado comes from not actually understanding that taunting a drowning man doesn't teach resilience. (took me five edits to come up with that last sentence, and I left in the split infinitive purposely.)

If you can give, give instead of lending. There. But what I've found interesting about the original post is the escort's ghosting of his friend, presumably because he feels awkward. It's become more and more common for people to allow awkward feelings to prevent them from doing what they should do. Young adults don't write post-graduation gift thank you letters anymore because, what, they feel "funny" about it? Parents should insist. How often do you hear people say that they "Just can't" visit this or that loved one in the hospital or assisted care facility because it's just "too difficult"? What the fuck? Difficult? I can guarantee you that no matter how "difficult" a 20 minute visit to a medical facility may be, it's INFIINTELY harder for the patient, because they are stuck there. Man up. Too difficult. Jesus Christ, watch South Park for an hour when you get back home, compartmentalize, you'll be fine.

Don't know how I found this book. I assumed I found it here, but I can't find a discussion on it. Just finished it. Not great, but I loved the line toward the end, when he's VERY much down on his luck, and a potential new client reaches out, doesn't tell Daniel much about himself, and Daniel wrote something along the lines that the client could be Uncle Fester and he would still be VERY grateful to him. Cute. Poorly edited. Did anyone here read it? Did anyone here ever hire him? He sounds fun. Drug-tied, but fun. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W3Z17J4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 His Insta: Login • Instagram WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM Welcome back to Instagram. I don't want to make you feel like shit, but unless the masseur states he prefers massage done on a bed, or simply doesn't have a table, bed massages, instead of table massages, are a crippling strain on the masseurs back and general body. It would surprise me when, occasionally, a client would prefer to not use the cradle. OUCH!
-
When I was young I was amazed that some men hired me once a week, and sometimes I'd also see them additionally for lunch or coffee or this or that. Then, in 2012 I found a non-sexual masseur who trained at the same school I did a decade earlier, but is light years ahead of me in skill (though I would say our intuition is about level), and I found myself hiring him nearly weekly until lockdown 8 years later. And I don't have money, at all. But, I kinda needed him. So, what surprised the young me, made complete sense at 40.

I know that this is a thread about providers who rim, but I just want to memorialize a friend/client of mine who passed away last summer. I have a rim chair and one of our favorite things was for me to sit in it, him underneath. I'd have my coffee, and we could stay like that for nearly an hour. My butt would be so sore from sitting and so happy from liking. His neck would NOT be sore because we knew JUST the right pillow to put under his head. HAPPY DAYS!

How much weight should a skipped review hold?
Rod Hagen replied to viewing ownly's topic in Questions About Hiring
Amazing. Until reading this thread, it never would have occurred to me that potential clients who see my reviews might wonder why I didn't respond to the reviews and perhaps see it as a shortcoming on my part. Incredible how we all live in our own heads! -
What to do when a provider's ad disappears
Rod Hagen replied to viewing ownly's topic in Questions About Hiring
Definitely send a discreet text, with your name. He may be working but not advertising (that's me briefly now) and if he's not working you can meet up for lunch or coffee to convince him to keep seeing you...I mean to see how he is doing :-) -
As I've tried to say every time someone pulls out that chestnut, that's just some shit a character said, poetically, to round out his character. He's not real. It's not like he's Suze Oreman (is she real? I know her teeth can't be, except maybe Real expensive). It seems like a life lesson, and maybe it is to a degree, that doesn't mean it applies in all, many, most, situations.

I have relied on the kindness of client-friends many times. Without my closest client//friends I'd probably be homeless, or have had to resort to a real job (shudder!). And yes, it could make me feel like a worthless whore to have to ask for help. At the very least I feel a BIT disappointed in myself. But Jesus Christ no matter how awkward I feel I continue to thank them, years later. I'd never ghost someone who helped me just because I feel embarrassed. Who would. Someone who isn't doing well. Sucks dude, nice of you to help him. VERY nice of you to still be concerned.

You may see someone reliably, ie once or twice a year when you visit his city, but for shorthand lets tag regulars as once a month or more. Reliables are good too!

Gay people often have older brothers. Why? And does it matter?
Rod Hagen replied to KrisParr's topic in The Lounge
Thank you very much, I hadn't read about this study/finding. Very interesting to me, and it was great that they quoted Dean Hammer at the end. I loved his study, and I NEVER understood why gays were so opposed to him and his finding/hypothesis. I have a hard time reconciling Bogaert's Y Chromosome finding/hypothesis, which makes sense, with Dean Hammer's XQ28 ( I used to have that T-shirt!). And so I asked Perplexity, which told me this (but I still don't see the connection): In summary, Bogaert's and Hamer's studies complement each other by providing a more comprehensive understanding of the biological underpinnings of male homosexuality, involving both genetic and maternal immune factors. Their combined research supports the view that sexual orientation has a biological basis, rather than being solely a matter of choice or social/environmental influences. -
