  1. Speaking of Norway, The video below is fantastic. James Herring ⁦‪@itsjamesherring‬⁩ Oslo - is it even a city? Best tourism commercial I've seen in ages. Anti advertising at its best. (Books trip to Oslo) pic.twitter.com/PnwuNA7x9g 6/25/24, 12:36 AM
  2. That is interesting. Eventually, the home will be an escort menagerie with a hefty admission fee. :-) Seriously, it's uncommon for an escort to fall for a similarly-aged client, it's almost always an older, money'd, one they run away with, if they run away. Takes all kinds for sure.
  3. The good news is that several entertaining memoirs, even a couple actual literary ones, have come out of it so yay!
  4. Oh no! Now I really wish I'd met him. Thank you for the photos!
  5. Hi. I'm trying to think of a place to visit for three nights during Thanksgiving. A place I haven't been much or, better yet at all. I'm looking for suggestions, knowing you can't know where I have been. I'd be flying out of LAX Thursday morning returning any time Sunday. Right now I'm thinking Oaxaca. I've never been, seems like a few days there would be perfect. I'd prefer Mexico City, since I've never been, but I don't think my asthma would handle the air quality well that time of year. I was in Hawaii recently, so...No. The only place I haven't been to in the Caribbean that I still want to see is the BVI. But given how expensive and hard to get to from here the BVI is, I'd rather go when I have more time. I've been to Banff and Jasper and area many times. I've been to Vancouver many times, Seattle, Portland, Montreal, Quebec, Winnipeg, many times. It's too short of a time to go to Maine. I've been ALL over California, and much is worth repeating, but I was in Yosemite a month ago, and Big Sur again can wait a few years. I dislike Palm Springs and I don't need to visit San Diego or San Francisco again right now. Don't need to see NYC again right now Or Boston Or Wyoming Or Chicago or Texas or North Carolina or Georgia or South Carolina again right now. Wasn't that long ago I was in Arizona, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce and that area. I don't like Taos or Santa Fe enough to go again.....Minneapolis, many times. It's not enough time to go to Belize. Or back to Honduras or Costa RIca. Nor Alaska....Don't feel I need to go back to Miami for awhile, or the Keys ever again. I've been to San Miguel De Allende, was great. So, maybe, Oaxaca? Any other ideas? Would Glacier national park be open, interesting, that time of year? Thank you Thank you Thank you. I really appreciate the travel advice I get here. And, on that subject, the Norway trip is coming soon!
  6. I just spent some time reading his old posts on this forum. Smart guy! I found his old Rentmen Ad on the Internet Archive, but unfortunately the photos were not archived. I am so very sorry to hear bout his difficulties at the border. I know from his book that being arrested in Vegas was extremely upsetting for him and he hoped, and promised himself, that nothing like that would happen again. How terrible. I emailed him, if he gets back to me I'll suggest he start a GoFund me if he's still impacted by what happened. If he does start one, I'll link to it here if he allows me. I wish I could have met him. The universe doesn't care what I hope, but I hope that somehow he is doing ok without the work (although the book ending indicated he was about to get out of the business anyway.) Thank you for responding TruHart1. I am very glad you were able to spend time with him and I am sure he appreciated your attention, financial help, and your praising of him on this website. The book appears to be selfPublished, so purchasing it will still go to him. It's a fun read. BUY IT! you'll be helping a beautiful man.
  7. Really? So this attitude toward the escort subletting his youth, beauty and skills is ok, but his hopes of extra financial help and/or luxuries is shitty? You guys, you guys, you guys. (again, this is not directed at the OP (and I shouldn't have to say that))
  8. Found the old, locked thread by TruHart1, which no one else contributed to, about this book. Just Read the book. Enjoyed it. He seems like a really really sweet guy. What city did he primarily operate out of and what was his full escort name, just Armann? I want to find him in the archives and read his reviews if possible. Did you read the book? Did you like it? Did you hire him, how was he? Does anyone know how he's doing these days? I hope he's doing great! Book: Amazon.com WWW.AMAZON.COM Old thread:
  9. I don't know if this helps at all, but as I was reading these often sad tales of entanglements, it struck me that each one is a relationship. Non-escort relationships are often filled with drama and heartache too. All of you who had your heart ripped out by an escort who liked you as well as relied on the assets that you have and he doesn't, just like you relied on his physical assets that you probably lack, that was a relationship--a dramatic Two-sided, don't believe it wasn't two-sided in many ways, relationship.
  10. I realize I brought up the doctor thing. That said, the doctor-friend has resources that your escort-friend does not. When desperate and without resources, one's concern about appropriateness decreases.
  11. I loved the description in Patti Smith's Just Kid's take on the accusation that Mapplethorp was after Wagstaff's money. Something along the lines, they loved each other and they loved the parts that added up to the person. Wagstaff loved Mapplethorp. He loved Mapplethorp's beauty and talent and youth and style. Mapplethrop loved Wagstaff/he loved Wagstaff's money, connections, style, and curation skills. They were both in opportunistic love, which was love. I think the younger person always THINKS he's Mapplethorp, but he's not. Only Mapplethorp was Mapplethorp. I agree with you entirely on the wad of $50s. No young person would ever really be happy with the terms, if they thought long and hard about it, because their youth and beauty will die, and the wealthier person, baring tragedy, will always be wealthy. As I've said before, he'll wipe his tears with $100 bills.
  12. Thank you for sharing that. I have a friend* with a wealthy husband. In the earlier years of their relationship my friend was losing his business, which employed over a dozen other people, and needed about $75k to put it right. Boyfriend would not give him the money, the business tanked and my friend lost the business. Around that time, boyfriend spent $75k on a family shindig. It stung. When someone with money cares about you, helps with luxuries and occasional emergencies, the lack of structure, the lack of clarity about where the poor person fits in the wealthy person's life, SPECIFICALLY FINANCIALLY, will make a poorer person feel unmoored and therefore uncared for. It makes sense that, in a panic, the poorer person will tread water too vigorously saying, “I only feel safe when I'm with you”, for example. That doesn't mean it's not true, it's just maybe opportunistic and true. I'm explaining, not excusing (and I shouldn't have to say that).
  13. I don't speak Meme, or Gif, or whatever those are. I'm not being a stubborn GenXer, I mean I really really have a hard time understanding them. I think I got the gist though.
  14. We know what is meant truly by "I don't think of you as a client anymore" is "I feel closer to you than other clients", it's just more awkwardly stated. Given that, "so I can't take your money anymore" is a common forum response I've pushed against for the full 25 years (!!) of this forum. I have several doctor friends, close relationships. Many of you do too. We don't pay them when we go out to lunch, yet we most certainly pay them for the work*. Same goes for the handyman, the housekeeper, the architect, and yes of course the Masseur. So why expect freebies from your escort because what he's told you is that he feels closer to you than he does to others? *When I was a young cocky escort I would post, on the forum, in a delusional response to threads about "off the clock meals", basically, "fuck you, I have enough friends." What an insufferable, adorable, asshole I was.
  15. I wanted to drill a bit deeper on this, because it relates to some things others have said. So to you, James, and others, I'm curious what the Escort's manipulating and/or playing-you looks like? Where on the range is it from "treating you better than other escorts have during your sessions" to "Telling you he will forsake all other men for you if only (fill in the blank)"? The second thing is when you, and others, say the Escort was just looking for money, do you mean, he was looking to keep you as a regular so you would keep paying his fee or do you mean he was looking for money/benefits above what you paid for your time together? Thanks!
  16. Just finished this. Gay book. I recommend it. Some beautiful writing, and good world-building for a first time novelist. Often times, poets who write a first prose book write messy. This is that. The main character infuriated me. I enjoyed it. 17. Saw it at Arclight when it came out, Shelter was quite good. San Pedro never before looked so filmic!
  18. Look at the top of those traps. Nice.

  20. And in all interactions, the pros are surprisingly pleasant.
  21. Long ago, I was a lifeguard :-)
  22. The Lemar, Drake one was my fav. Che looked (rightly) terrified. I knew nothing about this until Bill Maher talked about it the night before.
  23. I had sex with him long long ago, and it was fantastic.
  24. I've mentioned it here before, when I started escorting at 26 I immediately saw guys in their 80s and 90s, older than my living (at the time) grandfather immediately (and still do.) Point is there are escorts to whom age does not matter. I would add, as others have said, if an escort has difficulty working with someone only 10-15 years older than him, he's in the wrong field and won't last. That doesn't help you once he's in your apartment, so what you need to do is use this forum to find escorts who are a good fit for you, whether there's a 10 year or 60 year difference. Happy Hunting.
  25. Yeah, I loo Thank you for the links. I looked at his insta and it seems as if the last photos, 2022, seem to have him as working on a ship. I hope he's well.
