  1. Since when is the n-word "endearing" ??? It is used as a way of "climbing on top" of someone. It may be done between friends and in a joking manner..but it's still a challenge, not a compliment.
  2. How can anyone answer that question without sharing what you were paid.
  3. No. You're not. But for most customers who believe they are paying for time. They think am hour is an hour...so rather than raising you hourly rate you need to explain there is additional preparation ( and maybe cost of equipment/sex toys). I find in MY business that clients balk at big price tags but not if you break that same cost down into parts where they can more easily understand the cumulative price tag.
  4. Charlie Carver came out after a gay man slapped him for being too ‘effeminate’ WWW.METROWEEKLY.COM The Boys in the Band star Charlie Carve says a gay man told him to keep his mannerisms "under control" at...
  5. Wow. What a beautiful man. Curious if the photos are authentic to the person's listing. The details in the profile are a bit Spartan.
  6. What part of the country ? Urban/ suburban or rural / small town ? My class ended up having a fairly large percentage of gay students. About 15% of my classmates now identify as either gay or bisexual. But as of 1989 not a single person I knew, in the entire high school openly identified as gay or bisexual. (Even though I privately knew a few were getting it on)..even two if them with teachers !
  7. You were "the exception" for coming out in high school ? Curious because we are the same age. None of MY classmates were "out" in high school but friends who are younger than me, often claimed to have come out in their teens. I think the 90s were a turning point for visibility
  8. I agree. No one has explained why it looks like he/they have breasts.. Am I the only person who thinks this person looks like they are transitioning? Is this a man transitioning to a woman or a woman transitioning to a man ?
  9. Never underestimate how lonely men of a certain generation can be... They isolated themselves with no relationships / hid in the closet their whole life / fear that homosexual contact will make them "bad". There are many reasons people end up lonely and just looking for companionship. People older than 50 all grew up in a world very different from today.
  10. Fair enough. This one has me lost in the logic. From my perspective everyone who thinks they've "taken ownership" is simply in deep denial and desperately trying to find a place to put these slurs so they hurt less by pretending they don't hurt. Nothing has changed but how much you're lying to yourself.
  11. That's literally like saying calling someone "freak" is liberating. Makes ZERO sense.
  12. Obviously making a joke. I dislike being talked down to as if I'm an idiot so I pretend to be one in response.
  13. I don't need to cite sources to be sure of my acurracy .This is a conversation, not a debate. I am discussing from memory, not a research paper with a bibliography. The N word is a tangent, and I therfore risk pissing off the monitors.
  14. Well, we clearly don't share the same sense of humor. I was obviously making a joke of your correcting me.
  15. "You can't just piggy-back"... I meant "you" as in someone. British formal: One can't just piggy back... American casual: You can't just piggy back.
  16. No. Because we'd be getting off topic.
  17. So you agree ? Can't tell if it's male or female.
  18. So is that one, or not ? Looks like it has tits.
  19. *wow* That's about as good as it gets.
  20. You reminded me of the "backroom" at Limelight, which was always incredibly sauna-like from the sheer number of men trying to squeeze in there to get a piece of the action
  21. Always suspicious of the single random torso pic. Why hide every other photo ?
  22. I think there's also a high degree of perception in this interaction. I would relate this to how New Yorkers are often called "rude" simply because we tend to mind our own business and not get chatty with strangers unless they ask first for help. Caleb is a quiet guy. True. If you're looking for bubbly, look elsewhere.
  23. No. You haven't. "Queer" means strange. Calling yourself strange or having someone else call you strange still isolates you from the majority. There is nothing "strange" about homosexuality and bisexuality. By this point in life we know it's all fairly common when society stops referring to it as strange. The "N word" differs in that it doesn't mean black it mean "lesser than". Tossing that around as banter between friends of the same color evokes a challenge to the antiquated idea of being lesser because of your skin color ..but two gay men calling each other "qu**r" still evokes their inability to mix with "normal" people. Which is why you don't hear gay men saying "Oh you qu**r ! to one another. If it weren't still a pejorative, I wouldn't need to modify the spelling to post it here when I'm using it as a slur. So no. It's still an awful and powerful negative that hasn't been neutered. You can't just piggy-back how black Americans have challenged one of their historical slurs and end up with the same effect.
