Not fair for masseurs to compare, sure. But as a client, I’m saying a spa massage will, including tip run high end of 100+ One is paying for spa facilities as well, which are not of interest to me right now. Spa masseurs have a standard of technique they must live up to, in exchange for regular hours and benefits. I always tip well. So to pay 200 and not leave home, even without MT or HE, I feel it’s worth it with a skilled provider.

I don’t mind a goofy face shot if others indicate something normal on the menu as well. $200 for in-home with no extras. I really love a great therapeutic session, and if I knew he could deliver the goods, why not? A service at a spa will run close to that - but you needn’t freak about common wet areas, and all the other things you may touch.

Ya pay y’money, ya take y’chances.

Tell him you are going to be spending some of your recreational budget on the massage services that you need, and that you’re not going to be able to see him as often.

It was fascinating yet not news to me. (I left social media 10 years ago having come to my own realization) If you are active on social media, do watch it.

Guys ads that have gotten my attention, and then had to be forgotten use “raunch” “filth” or mention “chili” Can any of you experienced kinkster clients explain how the terms differ from each other and from Scat. ??

Boys in The Band on Netflix on September 30

You, sir, just out-gayed Boys in the Band -
Yeah, I feel that LA is the same - there really is something for everyone. Truly. A client needs to decide what it is and isn’t worth prioritization. And it’s cool to change that from hire to hire. viva variety! The more rigid you are about your expectations, the harder it can seem to have them met.

Boys in The Band on Netflix on September 30

There are any number of plays and movies where action is set during (even in spite of) a celebration. Crowley added his own twists to the formula, including a number of character types that he witnessed and/or knew and/or loved, in his daily life as a gay man in NYC in 1968. Friedkins ‘70 film made the claustrophobic quality of a nice GV flat a way to add some tension. Murphy added to that with some more pre-party hints to the characters and a couple of the relationships, and some backstory clues with the flashback inserts. It’s a slice of life (tranche de vie) piece. Some people will appreciate the slice as it is, some won’t. -

I watched last night. Entire cast did strong work and I love to see Parsons continue to stretch his wings. It’s still best as a stage piece I think. I remember reading about it in 1970, saw it on screen in 81. Forty years on from that things have improved immensely. Stories about gay people who are NOT kids can still resonate as much as those that are. In the LGBTQ community, we within it sometimes forget why the Q is there, and there are moments in this play that can spark conversation -
He was on Project Runway, and the disclosure of his serostatus was, he felt, necessary because he was experiencing an HIV- tangential, and noticeable, oral infection that caused him to withdraw from the show. It was moving to see how supportive his fellow competitors were. I can’t recall his design skills, but have always found him very attractive.

In my entire life I’ve been in 3-ways twice, neither at my suggestion- one time I was the “prey” of two friends, and the other was a boozy mishap. Echo the “too many parts” idea. I probably would never actually hire two, unless I had a windfall of cash and just wanted to watch...

I would want a prior I truly liked to select a third he knows already, especially if they’ve worked together in this way. if you tell the prior what you want out of it, and he already has read your vibe on a meeting or two, maybe he has a couple of buddies to recommend as a good fit. If they already have broken their own ice it’s one less responsibility for you during the session. You can pre-discuss the goals and how attention is best divided for your taste. Obviously this takes more planning than U up?

A friend from the Midwest had a rather colorful extended family, including his grandmother who was jailed for a series of bad checks and his crazy uncle Dave who traveled with Ringling Brothers. The uncle would return for a week every 6-8 months, and tell the family about life on the road with the circus. Mostly he was very dissatisfied about how grueling and hard it was to do the work, which was looking after the large animals. Apparently, for all the years he’d been working, he spent most of his day mucking - cleaning up after horses and elephants - all day, every day, shoveling shit. Lots of it, and he went on for more than an hour this one time, describing in detail about the all of the shit. My friend said to him “Uncle Dave, why don’t you stay here and get a better job?” And Uncle Dave replied, “... and give up show business?”

The discussion here shows 2 things about Covid: that public opinion about it, and understanding the scientific aspects of it, are in different places. Business operations will resume in full, including massage, at some point in the future. Businesses that can do so, have found a way to take into account the public health boundaries, and there are some service businesses that cannot, as the degree of social distance is incompatible with the service they provide. The virus does not change its behavior (finding any host it can) to accommodate human needs, let alone wants. The need for financial normalcy (and physical intimacy) has the power to negate, in public discourse, the scientific fact that the world is still struggling to stop spread, treat the illness, and save lives. As you think about hiring, act responsibly afterwards -plan to isolate yourself as much as possible and mask up always in the 14 days after - this is the way that the impact of your decision to take personal risk stops with you. Tell people you had contact with someone who tested positive afterwards and you are acting with an abundance of caution. (Or tell them that you really just broke down and had to have a rub-n-tug...) Get the massage. But be a decent person, and make the sacrifice after to not spread what might have spread to you in spite of best efforts. if you live alone and work from home it’s really easy. If there are others in your home from whom you don’t distance, change that for 14 days. The spread thrives on the notion of “it was just the one time” I have to abstain, so I do.

The American “it’s my right” attitude needs a big dollop of “it’s my responsibility” The chance of dying, or causing another to die, is greater when you don’t wear a mask in the proximity of other people. Has a single death been caused by wearing a mask?

Favorable time of the day to get a massage
jeezifonly replied to NJ_hiker's topic in Spas & Masseurs
If I won the lotto, I would have a masseur who could be on retainer at bedtime. I could fall asleep on the table (which would be mine) as he lets himself out. Then transfer to bed after I get up to pee... But I haven’t bought a lotto ticket in ages, so for now I like mid afternoons - before happy hour rush for providers -
You make me blush, Sir Ben. ?

If you are near LA, Chi Chi LaRue’s new store, at the location where Circus of Books was for years, carries new brands from Austria. I can vouch for the brands called Venom and Blackout - closest to original amyl I’ve found in the states.

As a client, I accept the posted rate as the rate I would pay. Once we come to an agreement about expectations (mine, specifically...) I don’t try to negotiate that, period. If posted rate is well above average and it doesn’t line up with favorable reviews and comments here, I may ask some clarification questions. I live close to LA, and there are a number of higher prices among providers. I tend to avoid the big stars, so my options for moving on to another provider are better. Mostly, I find that sessions run long, service is great, and that providers have a nice experience with me. I tip well when it has exceeded what I wanted, and reboook soon after if I can. I’m simply not a haggler by nature - I’d rather do the research ahead, and choose to buy or not to buy, and the one exception is garage sales. You can pay a lot or a little - either way what you’re getting is as ephemeral as any memory. Why and how it clings, will be as much your responsibility as theirs.

True, and further, to qualify for insurance through Putana Health, you have to submit to an exam where you must prove your ass can take minimum 10” of cucumber. ?
