  1. CAMPUS was also vacant when I visited Friday and Saturday afternoons 3pm- 7pm in mid-May 2019.
  2. Why did they send you to "secondary inspection" that one time in 20 years? I'm guessing it's purely a random lottery thing? After my 17 trips visiting Montreal alone since May 2005, I was sent to "secondary inspection" this year. I basically visit Montreal by myself once or twice a year. The Canadian airport customs guy claimed I appeared "nervous" and that I didnt want to tell them who I was really visiting in Montreal. HaHa. I had to literally go through 5 different security checkpoints and people at the "Inspection office". After they let me go I thought I was in the clear; however, when I got my luggage and was leaving they sent me again to another "third inspection" with my luggage. When I got off the plane at YUL, I made the mistake of using the very first kiosk directly in front of the border agents glass-desk booth where all the agents are standing and observing every action. They claimed I appeared nervous and my hands were trembling and they didn't believe I was visiting alone or that I didn't know anybody in Montreal after 15 years. Plus, there was nobody there and they were not busy at all. It's like they had nothing to do. My advice when getting of the airplane at YUL and going through Canadian Customs is to use the kiosk FURTHERST AWAY from the border agents glass desk that they sit at. This way they can't really observe if your hands are shaking or whatever. Thank God I had a smartphone with Wi-Fi at the airport, because they forced me to prove I had a return ticket on Delta airline 4 days later like I claimed on my customs card. No one has their return ticket printed out until minutes before departing, as nowadays mostly everything is electronic. This is the first time I ever had any issues or delays at YUL. It delayed me by an hour. I always give the same truthful answers about visiting the Village and the restaurants and strip clubs , etc. but that day you could tell they just weren't believing me. Made me feel totally unwelcome and like a criminal. I basically had to "out" myself as a homosexual tourist visiting homosexual strip clubs in the Village. As a mostly closeted man it wasn't comfortable. It seems to be getting worse. not better. When returning to the USA I have to go through USA Customs at YUL before departing Montreal. When I told the USA Customs officer the reason for my visit was "for the restaurants and strip clubs" he burst out laughing and said "that's what his place is for" and waived me through. 3. You sound like a fun travel companion. Good news regarding the Beaudry metro. I usually eat at Houston steaks at YUL; however, Archibald looks so interesting. I don't recall seeing it at my terminal. I will keep an eye open next time. It looks worthwhile arriving early just to eat (and drink) there.
  4. Exactly, as I previously mentioned in my earlier report, construction is horrible. As far as the 747 Express bus, normally it is good; however, last time on a Sunday afternoon in beautiful weather I had to wait 25 minutes for the bus to arrive at Peel and Rene Levesque. Then with the construction and bus drivers changing shifts, it look an additional 45 minutes to get to the airport. It was well over a full hour total time. Plus, I was standing the entire time on the bus with some woman's hair rubbing against me because the bus was jam packed. There is no air conditioning on many of the buses as well, so it was a sauna. $10 is a great price, as you can also use the metro for 24-hours, but sometimes you have to be in the right mindset. Hopefully metro station Beaudry will open soon?
  5. Yes, that must have been it. It was Saturday night May 18th. Sorry for raising everyone's hopes prematurely....
  6. Well I'm not insane. I saw the sign. I'll bet my life on it. I don't have Alzheimer's. I'm only 45. This was my 17th visit to Montreal since 2005. Also, while I was sitting on a bench on Ste. Catherine street, across Sky around 2am on Saturday night, a dancer came out of the club and started talking to me and to his friends. They made a big deal how he was a "dancer." Perhaps it's a weekend thing. And yes it was outside SKY.
  7. I should have taken a photo. When looking at the SKY complex, on the upper far right corner, there is very clearly a new square sign that says DANSEURS (and other things listed below like Go-Go boys, etc. on the same square sign).
  8. It depends on what your definition of a "twink" is. When I first started visiting Montreal back in 2005, Taboo was a world-renowned Twink destination for barely-legal, skinny, blonde-and-blue eyed white boyish teenage twinks. Nowadays, there are college-aged twenty-somethings that pass as the "twinks" of yesterday. I would say SKY and Unity on Friday and Saturday nights are the best bet if you want to find real twinks in Le Village.

  10. I was in Montreal from Thursday - Sunday at the OMNI Mont-Royal. It was unusually chilly for mid-May! This was my 17th visit since I began visiting Le Village in 2005 (once by train, once driving 12-hours each way, and the other 15 times by flight). Anyways, there are now danseurs at SKY. There is even a new sign on the building which says DANSEURS. As far as CAMPUS, I went Thursday afternoon to use the restroom and was immediately 'glued on' by the bartender/manager and dancer. I was literally the ONLY customer there at 4pm. The first word from the dancer "do you want a dance?". I left as he was not my type - body builder. Taboo had about 6 dancers each night; however, none did it for me. There were about twice as many customers, which wasn't a lot for Friday and Saturday night. Also, no luck on the hustlers from Ste. Catherine street, as the weather was likely way too cold. I've never seen so much construction in Montreal since I began visiting 14-years ago. From Eaton Center, to the freeway to the airport, to skyscrapers and so many various roads. The entire city seems "under construction." The Village was very dirty with urine all over sidewalks and having to side-step barf. I highly recommend a 24-hour poutine place called "Banquise" on Rachel street. Best meal ever!! I ordered the smoked meat poutine with mushrooms and sour cream with mozzarella instead of cheese curds. It was the very last item listed on the menu. Lots of college hotties (straight). Amazing poutine and the place is packed after 2am. On the "bright side", this was my first time being sent to "secondary inspection" at YUL after my 17 trips to Montreal. I basically visit once or twice a year. The Canadian airport customs guy claimed I appeared "nervous" and that I didnt want to tell them who I was really visiting in Montreal. HaHa. I had to literally go through 5 different security peoples and the "Inspection office". After they let me go I thought I was in the clear; however, when I got my luggage and was leaving they sent me again to "secondary inspection" with my luggage. Coming back to the USA was a breeze. I just told the USA Customs officer that I was in Montreal for the strip clubs and restaurants and he laughed and said "that's what this place is for" as he waived me through!!...and there were NO FURTHER QUESTIONS! LOL I did lose my credit card at the YUL airport bathroom right before boarding my plane. Luckily nobody used it and I was able to cancel it. I will never keep my credit card in shirt pocket again. Many streets under construction in Old Montreal as well, and even the Beaudry metro between Papineau and Berri is closed and under construction. If you like twinks , Montreal has suffered a breathtaking decline since I started visiting in 2005. If you're into the "jocks" and roided body-builders at Stock then you will likely find it worth your while. Restaurants I recommend are: Joe Beef restaurant, Le Garde Manger, Keg Steakhouse in Vieux Montreal, les trois brasseurs on Ste Catherine and Mcgill, and Joe's Paninis 24hour. And of course Banquise 24-hour poutine. Plus, Grindr had some interesting options as well.
  11. Out of all the hotels I've ever stayed at in Montreal, I have to admit the very best view was when I stayed near the top floor in the Hotel Gouverneur in a room near the corner of the Ste. Catherine street intersection facing the direction towards Place des Arts. The Montreal cityscape all lit up at night was the best cityscape view I've ever seen in my lifetime, besides the cityscape views of Chicago. The bathroom was newly remodeled; however, the shower pressure sucked and the mattress and sheets were awful. But that view......breathtaking. Plus the street hustler scene and crack addicts at your doorstep can't be beat, and the homeless park is directly across the street. I had a birds-eye view and it was great entertainment! Not to mention the strip clubs and Gay Village steps away. I still prefer the OMNI for safety and comfort...and shower pressure.
  12. God bless Quebec's Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ). May they have much success with their positive agenda.
  13. Such a child with the personal attacks. I agree that Montreal is a better place without you guys. Tag, you're it!
  14. Thank you for the heads up! This just gives me an excuse to cruise Ste. Catherine from Papineau to Berri-UQAM!
  15. Uhm, one makes friends after visiting a city for the past 14 years. I still stand by everything I said. It's not like I miss my crack heads and street hustlers.....or do I? HahAHhahhha.....
  16. Now is an excellent time to book for Winter and Spring at the OMNI hotel in downtown Montreal. I got a good deal booking through TripAdvisor for the OMNI Mont-Royal 4-star hotel located in Montreal's "Golden Square Mile" Business District. The OMNI is just a stone's throw away from the Peel metro station which will take you to all the clubs and anywhere in Montreal in 5 minutes. I always stay in a premium corner room on floors 15 thru 21, and I bring my own high-pressure shower head. With the 3% ebates discount from TripAdvisor, plus 1.5 % cash-back on my Quick Silver Capital One credit card, and the 31% currency exchange it's a good time to book. You can cancel for free up to two days before your trip, and you don't have to pay a penny until you arrive. My itinerary comes out to $680 for 4 nights for the "PREMIUM Corner room" level of the OMNI. This includes all the crazy Queebc 19% hotel taxes. $170 per night for a premium Corner room on the 21st floor at the 4-star OMNI for late April is a steal.
  17. Terrific. I personally would rather be with a woman than any of those dancers listed on their Instagram, but to each his own. God Bless America!
  18. Alas, when you disagree with someone just call them a "troll" and all will be well. Glad to see respect is a two-way street on the message-forum.... and equally enforced.
  19. My "exaggerations"? "My insistence on interpreting the crowd?" I simply highlighted other people's real-life reviews, which ALL agreed with me except for one on this thread! Do you seriously want me to apologize for highlighting this fact? Do you want me to omit this fact? I never said other people's opinions were wrong. I respect everyone's opinion. I prefaced my remarks on this thread with the sentence "with all due respect"....which is a heck of a lot more than most people would ever consider doing to me. FYI, reviews usually receive MORE credence (not less) when they're backed up with facts and supported by (majority) other reviewers, but to each his own. Everyone is free to interpret the reviews and make up their own mind. Just like you have. I personally don't care if people go to Gold Coast or Montreal. Knock yourself out. I'm simply submitting my experience, which is what the forum is all bout, submitting personal experiences. Walking on egg shells....
  20. Dude, this is your issue. There's nothing wrong with pointing out the fact that the majority of posts on this thread (which I did NOT start by the way) are completely negative towards the Gold Coast in every way. Am I supposed to apologize for pointing that out? There are plenty of examples in the news where the reporter says "all the reviews have panned this movie", or "this film has received mostly negative reviews." Have we come to the point where we have to walk on egg shells with very FACT we post? I never said my review "needed" others to support it, but if others DO support my view then there's absolutely nothing wrong in pointing this fact out. In most schools of thought, it's a good thing (actually mandatory) to substantiate and collaborate one's viewpoint/position by referring to other supporting facts. That's the whole point of sites like TripAdvisor, TrustPilot, AngiesList, etc. If you see 99% negative reviews for a painter, then chances are he's a horrible painter. Should I not point out those 99% of reviews who agree with me that he's a horrible painter? Yes, they may speak for themselves, but nothing wrong to point out the obvious. If it's a fact that 9 out of 10 think a movie sucks, then it's a fact that 9 out of 10 think the movie sucks. Yes, the movie may not suck for that 10th person, but for 9 out of 10 people the movie does suck. Think about it this way....just like reviews for hotels, restaurants, movies, and clubs...if everyone says the food sucks then the food probably and most likely sucks. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if they have no supporting evidence/reviews to back them up, then there review is like a needle in the haystack and should be taken with a grain of salt (no pun). I live 30 minutes away from the Gold Coast. I've been on this message-forum for over a decade. If the Gold Coast was any good, don't you think I would be there every night instead of once every 4 years? I would never have to spend all that money on air, hotel, rental car ,and restaurants traveling to Montreal or where ever if the Gold Coast is just 30 minutes from my house. Think about it...
  21. I concur with you that most of these reviews are current. I agree with everyone else on this thread who has submitted their unbiased perspective on the breathtaking decline of Gold Coast. Apparently our views don't happen to sync up with your one-sided opinion, as clearly you can see your input is the only one remotely positive. FYI, whenever someone prefaces their opinion, as I clearly did, with the phrase "with all due respect" then you can't call it an attack on you. Reviews from several other users are most certainly support that can be used to substantiate and corroborate my views. How else would one support their opinion? On the contrary, calling someone names like 'bitter queen' certainly doesn't look favorable towards your position. Remember that while it is perfectly acceptable to criticize the content of a post - criticizing the poster is not. Mean spirited, nasty, snide, sarcastic, hateful, and rude individuals on the message-forum don't warrant or deserve my or other posters' acknowledgement or respect.
  22. Apparently there are plenty of people like myself who enjoy the company of 18-year-old adults. From MichaelB83's thread Club Gold Coast in Detroit is finally getting hot dancers again:
  23. This is a message board where everyone is welcome and encouraged to submit their individual experience regarding male strip clubs. Am I wrong? It's glaringly apparent and most obvious that my views and experiences, especially in this thread, are in sync with 99% of the people who posted. What is your problem? Why does it bother YOU so much that I pointed out these FACTS of truth? I'm curious what YOU have to say about everyone else who echoed the exact same thing I have been saying all along in this thread? They are not my words but THEIRS! Are they "bothered" too? Same thing regarding Montreal's breathtaking decline. I included several contributions from TripAdvisor posters as well as from members on the other website to support my position and somehow that makes me "bothered". When people substantiate their reviews with facts and provide supporting evidence/reviews, this is generally considered a good thing.
